The Need for World Development
In this section of my work, I will look at equality in the world, and
then whether or not we should be doing something to help or not, as
some forms of helping could result in chaos. Before answering this
question I will need to research and explain what world development is
and explain the first, second and third worlds. In this section of my
work I will also write about different charities and organisations
that I have researched and talk about their work to help less
economically developed countries to become more developed and
therefore more independent.
Not all countries in the world are as developed as us. There are many
countries in the world that are undeveloped, with no running water, no
food to eat and no medical supplies at all. These countries are known
as the third world. Our country has been developed and we have the
basic amenities available to us whenever we wish, and much, much more.
For this reason we are known, as well as other countries like America
as the first world. But in between the first and third world there is
also countries that are currently developing themselves, and slowly
joining the first world countries.
The first world also offers education to children, this education is
very important and is one of the main reasons why we are more
developed than those in the third world. There is a very famous saying
that says: 'Give a man a fish and feed him for a day, teach a man to
fish and feed him for a lifetime.' This quote is taken to mean that if
we donate food and clothing and materials for building, we are doing
good and helping people. But wouldn't it be much better if we could
help and teach these people to grow their own food, how to sew their
own clothes and how to create their own building materials. There are
many reasons why these third world countries are unable to develop
themselves. These factors include the third world dept, which I have
"When a trout rising to a fly gets hooked on a line and finds himself unable to swim about freely, he begins with a fight which results in struggles and splashes and sometimes an escape. Often, of course, the situation is too tough for him."
The title of the poem itself dictates the simplicity Bishop wishes to convey regarding the narrator's view of his catch. A fish is a creature that has preceded the creation of man on this planet. Therefore, Bishop supplies the reader with a subject that is essentially constant and eternal, like life itself. In further examination of this idea the narrator is, in relation to the fish, very young, which helps introduce the theme of deceptive appearances in conjunction with age by building off the notion that youth is ignorant and quick to judge.
In conclusion, those who try new things will have the ability to succeed rather than those who sit around and fail without trying. Equality expresses the theme of this book by showing that when you go try new things and express your opinion good things will happen if you have good intentions. Equality discovers electricity and when he show the group of scholars he is denied the use of electricity throughout the community. Equality takes his opinions and designs o make his own society that is based on oneself. In my opinion the world is a combination of both of these societies and this is how the world has accomplished what it has today.
Throughout the world, discrimination in all forms has continued to be a constant struggle; whether it’s racial, gender based, religion, beliefs, appearance or anything that makes one person different from another, it’s an everyday occurrence. A major place that discrimination is occurring at is in the workplace. One of the largest problems discrimination issues is believed to be gender. Women, who have the same amount of experience as men are not getting paid at the same rate as men, these women also are equally trained and educated. According to the article Gender Pay, it was discovered in 2007 that a woman makes 81 cents for every dollar a man earns.(“Gender Pay”) . This shouldn’t be happening in today’s society for the fact the society lived in today is suppose to be more accepting. Men are viewed as being more popular, valuable and having higher powers than women. The Reason Discrimination is involved in the equal pay equal work is because of the significance it has to how some businesses pay their employees.
“The Fish” by Elizabeth Bishop is an excellent poem that goes beyond its straightforward subject. She vividly describes the act of catching a fish while also utilizing the thematic elements of figurative language, imagery and tone to bring many more ideas into the picture. Overall “The Fish” is a poem that champions the beauty of nature while also putting forth a negative connotation on all things artificial through a simple topic.
...equality strains the bonds that hold us together as a society, and until we can find a solution, we will continue down this beaten path of destruction.
We live in a world full of many societal issues. The aspects that determine whether one will have a successful or unsuccessful life is due to their characteristics such as race, gender, and social status. In the book Is Everyone Really Equal, Ozlem Sensoy and Robin DiAngelo’s exigence is to express the following issues and to encourage the reader to work upon changing the world through social injustice, oppression, power, and community.

Do we truly understand how the meaning to equality among men and women affect society. Jobs, health, and education are affected by what transpires from the meaning to gender equality. Throughout history equality has been debated. Equality is defined as getting respect and giving respect regardless of gender or culture through fair treatment and maximized happiness. Balance and harmony are developed from the application of ethical theories to aid society in defining the meaning to gender equality rather than debating the issue. Therefore, defining gender equality should be the role of society by utilizing ethical theories. The theories can be consequentialist or nonconsequentialist acts that develop and maintain good morality and ethical
... will allow the lesser gender in society the chance to expand and experience growth in many dimensions. This growth and development will allow for equal and various opportunities for those at a disadvantage within society and around the world. For centuries, men and women have had completely different roles in their daily life, but with the advancements made towards gender equality, a shift has been made from a male dominated society to one where both men and women can interact in a manner that prevents a patriarchal society.
The Problems of Defining Development Development is very difficult to define as it has a wide range of meanings and has therefore been used in a variety of ways, by different people or organizations at different times. For example, geographers will link development with improvements in human welfare. e.g. greater wealth, better education and health. Many geographers will measure development in terms of the countries HDI (Human). Development Index.
World Vision's Role in the Development of the World World Vision is one of the world’s leading aid and development charities. It was founded in 1947 by the American missionary Bob Pierce after he took a life changing trip to China and Korea in 1947. In its core values it states that it is a Christian organization that acknowledges one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The organization maintains its Christian identity but is sensitive to the diverse contexts in which it works.
In the book Anthem, Equality 7-2521 is fearless and persistent in many ways. The book directly shows how...
quote: "For the secret of man's being is not only to live... but to live for something
Equality is a concept mankind never is able to grasp correctly. Of course humans will always search for different solutions to create fairness, but factors such as human greed, ignorance of mass populations, and even biological aspects stagnates the process of equality. The oldest and most relevant discussion on equality lies with the difference of sex; man versus woman. Initially, men, because of their physical superiority, were given the prospects many women never even dreamt to have. Conversely, as time has progressed, women have fought this unfair treatment with demands of suffrage and similar rights to those of their male equivalents. Greatly enough, this generation has done an exceptional job in the challenge of overcoming sexism and inequality. However, will this search for equality ever end? When can we say we have created an equal race of men and women? The fact of the matter is that it is truly impossible to have equality between the sexes because of predisposed circumstances that are not easily controllable in the slightest bit.
