My Literary Analysis
In Richard Connell’s story “The Most Dangerous Game” is about a big game hunter named Rainsford. In the story Rainsford is on a yacht with his buddy named Whitney. So when Whitney goes to sleep Rainsford falls off his boat and he swam to an island where he found a chateau. So when he got there he knocked on the door where a guy named Ivan was pointing a gun at Rainsford heart (line 148-150). Then a guy named General Zaroff came and saved Rainsford because he said he knew him. So later, that night General Zaroff asked Rainsford to go hunting with him so, Rainsford said no because in line 422 he said “I’m really not feeling at all well.” Then the next day General Zaroff gave Rainsford a choice either to play the game
and last three days or be tortured by Ivan. Rainsford chose to play the game he was very smart while playing because he would make distractions so Zaroff couldn’t find him. Then it was the last day so Rainsford swam back to the chateau because it would be faster than walking. Rainsford then hid behind the curtains until Zaroff got back there and he won the game. Once again Zaroff had never lost the game before until now so Rainsford said in line 710 “he had never slept in a better bed” and that was his reward. “The Most Dangerous Game” with the author’s use of tone, imagery, and conflict makes the reader anxious because Zaroff hunted humans.

They had all the offence and defense they needed to go all the way. Last year’s team made it to the World series
The conflicts in both story's end very different message; "I sent a man up five years ago for murder. He was so poised to hang, nut pup north they commuted it to his life. Now his free - I don't know how. Anyways, it looks like he's coming back." ( formen 295) Those are the words of will khan. The conflict in high noon is frank Miller is loose and is coming back to get revenge on Khan for sending him to jail. However in "The Most Dangerous Game" the story is ending out a different conflict. "It's a game you see." Zaroff is a like to hunt humans for fun and it's a game to him. Zaroff is a very skilled hunter that has gotten tired of hunting animals because he says that their not challenging to hunt. So he turns to humans to hunt for his amusement.
“The Most Dangerous Game” is about a man named Rainsford. He tricks ships into thinking that there is a channel they can sail through, but then
In “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Sanger Rainsford is shown as serious, cunning, and determined. Rainsford is shown to be serious in the story when he speaks
Being hunted on an island is an experience like no other, whether it is a film or a short story. “The Most Dangerous Game” started off as a short-story, but was later turned into a film. Like many other films, the director has done some adjustments that differ from the short-story. The plot, setting, and characters were revised from the original form in the short-story. However, the difference in the characters was the most influential part that changed throughout the film.
The author of “The Most Dangerous Game” is Richard Connell. Richard Connell is an American author and journalist, who wrote a lot of short stories and few novels. His short stories appeared in the Saturday Evening Post and Collier's Weekly. While he was still in high school, Richard Connell was hired as the city editor for sixteen dollars a week. He studied college at Georgetown University, while working as a secretary for his father, who had been elected to Congress. After his father’s death, he moved to Harvard, and started writing for two college newspapers. After graduating, he transferred to New York, but he also left a brief stint in the army during World War |. After that, he moved to Los Angeles and began to write screenplays for major Hollywood movie studios. Richard Connell’s most famous story is “The Most Dangerous Game”, which is still widely read, even nowadays. It has inspired many movies and it’s probably the most frequently anthologized American story.
Richard Connells “The Most Dangerous Game” is a short story which illustrates that calm analytical thinking can increase your odds of survival and controlling panic.
Facing hardships, problems, or obstacles shouldn’t discourage one from completing their task or job. Many of authors usually put their characters through tough complications to show the reader that no matter what happens; anyone could pull through. In the short story, “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connel, the main character Mr. Rainsford gets stranded on an eerie island with a bad reputation. He meets General Zaroff and gets thrown into a huge hunting game, where his life is on the line. In the end, he wins the game and will continue to hunt animals, but not people, as the general once did. He will continue to hunt because one, hunting means everything to him. Two, he will not continue the general’s crazy ways, and resort back to the legal and non-dangerous to other humans sport. Third, he feels powerful when he becomes the hunter and not the hunted. Giving up hunting would be like giving up his life, so just because of a minor block he had to overcome, he will not give up hunting.
Poverty and homelessness are often, intertwined with the idea of gross mentality. illness and innate evil. Lord of the Flies is a novel written by William Golding in 1954 about a group of young British boys who have been stranded alone together on an island with no adults. During the novel the diverse group of boys struggle to create structure within a society that they constructed by themselves. Golding uses many unique literary devices including characterization, imagery, symbolism and many more. The three main characters, Ralph, Piggy, and Jack are each representative of the three main literary devices, ethos, logos, and pathos. Beyond the characterization the novel stands out because of Golding’s dramatic use of objective symbolism, throughout the novel he uses symbols like the conch, fire, and Piggy’s glasses to represent how power has evolved and to show how civilized or uncivilized the boys are acting. It is almost inarguable that the entire novel is one big allegory in itself, the way that Golding portrays the development of savagery among the boys is a clear representation of how society was changing during the time the novel was published. Golding is writing during

“Often fear of one evil leads us into a worse”(Despreaux). Nicolas Boileau-Despreaux is saying that fear consumes oneself and often times results in a worse fate. William Golding shares a similar viewpoint in his novel Lord of the Flies. A group of boys devastatingly land on a deserted island. Ralph and his friend Piggy form a group. Slowly, they become increasingly fearful. Then a boy named Jack rebels and forms his own tribe with a few boys such as Roger and Bill. Many things such as their environment, personalities and their own minds contribute to their change. Eventually, many of the boys revert to their inherently evil nature and become savage and only two boys remain civilized. The boys deal with many trials, including each other, and true colors show. In the end they are being rescued, but too much is lost. Their innocence is forever lost along with the lives Simon, a peaceful boy, and an intelligent boy, Piggy. Throughout the novel, Golding uses symbolism and characterization to show that savagery and evil are a direct effect of fear.
In the Most Dangerous Game, Rainsford’s hunting skills helps shape the plot but most importantly the resolution of the story. The General gets induced and a bit overconfident because of Rainsford’s hunting skills when he says, “‘You’ve done well Rainsford,’
The setting in “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell is essential because it makes it more mysterious and believable. For example, it must be on a island so the visitor is trapped. Once people reach the island they must be the toughest because they survived the rough waters and have climbed huge boulders. Rainsford knows that the only way to survive is to look around to see if there is food. Rainsford think that “He was in a picture with a frame of water, and his operations clearly must take place within that frame” (11). This quote explains that Rainsford is ambushed. If the setting is on a piece of land that was populated the general would get caught immediately for murdering people for fun.
In “The Most Dangerous Game,” Richard Connell uses man to man conflict between Zaroff and Rainsford to illustrate Zaroff’s disillusioned manner, and to show how this causes him to lose the ability to distinguish between right and wrong. In the story, Zaroff and Rainsford are discussing their love for hunting, and it becomes apparent that Zaroff is so obsessed with hunting that he will literally murder people to satisfy this “hunger” he has. Soon, their conversation escalates into even higher levels when Zaroff suggests that he and Rainsford face off in a hunt; a “game.” He wants to literally hunt Rainsford to the death. He proposes that Rainsford will go off on the island, and later on he will follow. After three days, if Rainsford has
