“Play every game as if it is your last one” - Guy Lafleur. Has children we all love to play games, but are all games really fun or safet? Some games can be so dangerous and horr finding that it’s not only legal, but can kill you. What if you play a game that can possible be your last, even the most dangerous game. There is story about the most dangerous game, it is even call that. The is plot is of a game between two hunters who hunt each other. This story was written by Richard Connell and the story all starts with a man name Sanger Rainsford, who fell off a boat.
One night Sanger Rainsford and his friend Whitney on a boat getting ready for the day ahead. The two of them talk to one another and at one point Whitney ask Rainsford if he ever feel bad for the animals that he hunts and Rainsford said "You're a big-game hunter, not a philosopher. Who cares how a jaguar feels?" Who knew that those word would come back to haunt him. Later that night Rainsford heard something and that when he fell off the boat on to the island. After looking around Rainsford meets a man name General Zaroff and this is where the climax of the story really begins.

After taking to General Zaroff for a while Rainsford knowest something weird about General Zaroff and later found out what that was. General Zaroff got bored of hunting animals and instead hunted humans and he wants Rainsford to injunct with his “game”. Rainsford didn’t want to do it and said "Hunting? Great Guns, General Zaroff, what you speak of is murder." , but it was his only way to leave the island, so at this point it was kill or be kill. So at the end of the game Rainsford did something that I still can’t
In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” Rainsford was justified in killing General Zaroff. Rainsford is a hunter. He was on a yacht that crashed and he was the only survivor. The island that he swam to was named “Ship Trap Island.” This where General Zaroff lived. He is also a hunter. He has hunted anything you can think of. Even… people. He has the survivors from the ship wrecks “play” his “game.” The survivors go out into the jungle and General Zaroff goes out and finds them. They have three days to survive. If they don’t get caught in those three days, they win. If they lose… they are killed. This happened to Rainsford. Rainsford, thankfully, won the “game.” He shot General Zaroff after his win.
Rainsford is an intelligent man. Early in the story, “Rainsford remembered the shots. They had come from the right, and he doggedly swam in that direction” (34). Rainsford had just fallen in the water, swam fifty feet further out, but he kept his senses in the right direction. In total darkness, Rainsford used his intelligence and intellect to reach the land. Also, I don’t think that Rainsford knew he was being sized up when Zaroff was staring at him, but when “Rainsford’s bewilderment showed in his face” (100), he quickly understood what Zaroff was leading too. Rainsford wasn’t a murderer. Sure he liked to hunt game, but he wasn’t bored as Zaroff was. Rainsford never bought into all the old tales. ‘“One superstitious sailor can taint the whole ship’s company with fear”’ (20). He never got worked up or stressed out.
Both “Full Circle” and “The Most Dangerous Game” have many differences with how the murder is presented in the story, but both also have many similarities. In the short story “The Most Dangerous Game” the murder was done for fun and sport, General Zaroff killed his victims to fulfill a hunting sensation. But in the short story “Full Circle”, the murder was done out of jealousy, because the Terry was rejected. Throughout my paper I hope to show the similarities and differences of the murder cases within the two stories.
In the short story, “The Most Dangerous Game”, Rainsford was justified in killing General Zaroff. Rainsford is a hunter. He was on a yacht until he fell off the boat. He swam all the way to shore because Rainsford heard three gun shots. He walked upon a gigantic mansion. This house was for a man named General Zaroff. He was an hunter just like Rainsford in a hunt , but hunted humans instead of animals. General Zaroff wanted to kill Rainsford in a hunt with the General. Also, the General threaten Rainsford if he doesn’t hunt with him; he will be sent with Ivan.
TMDG is a gothic tale of a famous hunter, who had an accident at sea, named Rainsford. He swims his way to the shores of an island that is populated by another hunter, by the name of Zaroff, and his henchmen, Ivan. Rainsford is greeted with five star hotel hospitality until Zaroff brags
In the short story “the most dangerous game”, Rainsford was justified in killing General Zaroff.
After reading “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell. I have decided that the character that holds the most power was “General Zaroff”. I came to this conclusion based on the fact that he knew what was going to happen from the start. “General Zaroff” also held intimate knowledge of the island, a home base to receive medical treatment, backup from a bodyguard, a canine unit, and superior firepower.
Being hunted on an island is an experience like no other, whether it is a film or a short story. “The Most Dangerous Game” started off as a short-story, but was later turned into a film. Like many other films, the director has done some adjustments that differ from the short-story. The plot, setting, and characters were revised from the original form in the short-story. However, the difference in the characters was the most influential part that changed throughout the film.
In order to be the best, you have to beat the best. We saw and read two pieces describing this phrase. The Most Dangerous Game is about a hunter, Rainsford, who thinks that animals don't have any feelings expect the fear of death and pain. When going to the Amazon to hunt for tigers, he accidentally falls of the yacht and washes up on a peculiar and dark island called Ship-Trap Island. There is only one huge house or castle where there is one man living there. His name is Zaroff and is also a hunter. The only difference is that he hunts humans instead of animals. He invites Rainsford into his house and tells him about the stuff that he does. Zaroff wants to kill him in a game he has never lost...until now. The other piece was a movie called
Some people you meet can have a major impact on your life and change it for better or for worse. Rainsfords (a man who likes to hunt dangerous animals) life was greatly changed in both a good way and a bad way by a man who lives on a tiny island in a big house named General Zaroff. Rainsford ended up on this island after he fell of a yacht he was on to go hunt an animal somewhere else but ended up swimming his way up to the shore of an island. But after about a day of being on the island Rainsford was being hunted down. While Rainsford was trying his hardest to survive on the island he was on he found a way to escape to the mainland where General Zaroff was to try and get a way off the island back to civilization. The points in this story will be somehow related to my thesis statement in ¨The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, Zaroff teaches Rainsford how it feels to be like the hunted and not the hunter.
We are introduced to the protagonist and main character, Sanger Rainsford who is a big game hunter and a WW1 veteran. The story starts off with a conversation between Whitney and Rainsford discussing the island, so we can understand the reputation it holds.
G. Zaroff is untrustworthy because in the end after Rainfords has beaten him he still has to fight him. He shows this when Rainsford meets him in the bedroom the General says “I see, Splendid! One of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in a very excellent bed. On guard, Rainsford…..” This means that he didn’t keep his promise of letting him go after three days and still made him fight.
To Mr. Rainsford, hunting is like football to a NFL player. Hunting plays a huge role in his li...
The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell is about a world wide hunter from New York named Rainsford and is on his yacht on his way to the Amazon. But he falls overboard and is stranded on a weird island called Ship Trap Island. Rainsford finds a house and this is where he meets Ivan, a servant, and Zaroff, was the owner of the house. Zaroff takes Rainsford in but he will soon learn the only way to get off this island is to win at Zaroff’s game where he is hunted.
As he battles to remain alive for three days, Rainsford feels the unreasoning apprehension of being caught, and he spares his life by duplicating the intuitive conduct of chased creatures. He comes to perceive the intrinsic injustice of Zaroff's diversion, and surely, of all chasing, with just a blade and small arrangements, he should battle a man who has weapons, prepared mutts, information of the island, and a protected place to withdraw for rest. Attempting and doing his best for the islands geography further, Rainsford is incidentally compelled to come back to the ocean, his previous adversary, so as to misdirect Zaroff into imagining that he has submitted suicide. The last scene happens in the most enlightened setting, where the locked room, Zaroff feels generally
