The events throughout history have been drastically shaped by spies, unknown heroes and unspoken stories. This is true within The Mossad, an Israeli special intelligence organization. Spying, covert operations, assassinations, and espionage have been at the heart of the Israeli Institute for Intelligence and Special Operations (Mossad-About Us, pg 1). Although Mossad has been in existence for many years, the impact that Mossad had on society was at all time high under Andrew Joseph. Mr. Joseph was a Jewish Indian that grew up on the mountains of Russia. Being raised as a dedicated Israeli, Andrew became very proud of his heritage. When Mr. Joseph turned twenty-one, he decided to leave his small cottage and serve his country by becoming a Mossad Agent (Joseph, 2052, pg.18). This process entailed a long journey that took an extraordinary amount of time and effort. After overcoming many obstacles in his life, Andrew Joseph was successfully able to become the most outstanding Mossad Agent in recorded history.
One of the biggest obstacles that Special Agent Joseph overcame in order to become such a strong Mossad Agent was his physical disability. At the age of five, Andrew Joseph was diagnosed with a mild form of juvenile Tay Sachs disease, a genetic disorder found in many Indians in this region of Russia (Joseph, 2052, pg.6). Tay Sachs is caused by an excessive substrate formation due to decreased levels of an enzyme called hexosaminidase A (Pubmed Health, 2010, pg.1). Mr. Joseph lost the strength to control the movement of his muscles in his arms and legs due to his disease. However, this major obstacle did not prevent Special Agent Joseph from achieving his dream. He began to go to the local Jewish Community Center (JCC) and worko...

The American Revolution was a time when colonial peoples were forced to develop a Patriot identity separate from that of the British. The evolution of espionage provides a paradigm case to support the shift in identity. The role of espionage is really only seen through the eyes of the British and the Patriots, the loyalists in the colonies are absent from the narrative. This paper argues that the use of espionage during the American revolution and the consequences that it brought developed a distinct American identity by analyzing the societal benefit it played in the colonies (the motivation that drove American’s to spy), the exclusion of members with loyalist sympathies found by John Honeyman and Enoch Crosby and its reputation within the colonial side.
In what ways does Rich Cohen's Tough Jews add to our understanding of the development of organized crime? This book is regarding the obscure stories of Jewish gangsters, who in the '20s and '30s were in association with the Sicilians and in a lot of ways just as influential. But it's much more than merely a story of organized crime; the writer links the legends and thoughts of Jewish kids growing up amongst those gangsters to the value system of his father plus his friends, and how their attitude regarding "Tough Jews" gave them an option to the stereotypical roles permitted them by America at large. In its own strange, violent way it's a luminous, striking explanation of the eastern European Jewish immigrant experience in America. (Kaminsky, Stuart M. "The Individual Film: Little Caesar and the Gangster Film." American Film Genres. Pflaum Publishing, 1974: 13-32.) When organized crime reared its ugly head in the late 1920s in Brooklyn, at the base were men like Meyer Lansky and Ben Siegel, both Jews. Rich Cohen's romantic story of Jewish gangsters, Tough Jews, brings to life the ta...

The movie “Schindler’s list” is a compelling, real-life depiction of the events that occurred during the 1940’s. It illustrates the persecution and horrific killings of the Jewish people. It also exemplifies the hope and will of the Jewish people, which undoubtedly is a factor in the survival of their race. The most important factor however is because of the willingness of one man, Oskar Schindler, to stand out and make a difference.

Tuchman helps us understand an interesting time in history when old ways clash directly with new means of communication and ways of fighting. These few years in world history are a unique time of unusual people and events that can only be explained in the context of understanding how much things for these countries had remained the same despite the changing world around them. After the strategy and plans, the following deployments and battles would demonstrate this very fact. The Guns of August is a superb narrative bringing us a key insight into the war that at the time had such great significance and today has such great historical value.
Homeland security entities are proactive in the fight against terrorism on American soil. Their mandate is to collect information relating to potential attacks and analyze it to find a solution to the danger. With this in mind, these entities employ numerous spying techniques to collect intelligence for safeguarding of the nation. Homeland security entities have spies in almost all the countries in the world, especially those that show aggression towards America. The main aim of these spies is to carry out espionage to determine threat levels and find ways of neutralizing threats (Randol, 2009). This involves deployment of secret agents to areas or countries that exhibit terrorism activity in a bid to collect information. The spies interact with local people and members of terrorist groups using aliases that enable them conceal their identities.
Amongst military theorists and practitioners who studied war, its origin and implications, Carl von Clausewitz assumes a place among the most prominent figures. With his book On War, he demonstrated his capability to provide thorough historical analysis and conclusions of the conflicts in which he was engaged, and as a philosopher he reflected about all encompassing aspects of war. Today, Western armies conduct modern warfare in a dynamic environment composed of flexible and multiple threats in which civilians form a substantial part. Studying Clausewitz provides current military and political leadership useful insights to understand twenty-first century warfare. He explains the nature of war, provides an analytical tool to understand the chaos of warfare, and he argues for well educated and adaptable leadership capable of creative thinking. Although he died before his work was complete, his writing style was ambiguous and unclear at some moments, and current technology reduced some of his tactics obsolete, his work still arouses and inspires military and political strategists and analysts.

The variance in personnel and amount of crime present can be accounted for by the population difference between the United States and Israel while still observing that both countries acknowledge a need for a diversely equipped force shall the moment arise. Despite Israel’s and the United States drastically different approaches to the structure and operations of the law enforcement aspect of the criminal justice system both countries agree on keeping the people safe from criminals and the even more dangerous terrorists. In fact law enforcement from the United States visit Israel and attend training seminars and conferences to learn and pool resources in regards to new techniques on dealing with terrorism, drugs, policing strategies, hand to hand combat, and any topic that can aid the other country (FIND ONE OF THE MANY).
