Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis’ passion for fashion, grace, intellect, and ability to relate to those of all ages, has her remembered as the most influential First Lady in American History. Throughout her life Jackie affected countless Americans on many different levels. Mothers, children, and even men looked up to her and wondered how she would amaze them next with either her charm, sense of style, or ability to handle almost any situation with grace, and intellect that came her way.
A loving and affluent family from New York raised Jacqueline Kennedy. She attended one of the most prestigious private schools in the area. Jackie had the opportunity to study foreign language such as French, as well as art, music and literature. She took the time to enhance her character by learning and studying etiquette and social skills. “As a young child, she loved horseback riding, reading, and lacrosse. She went to Vassar College in New York, and spent her junior year abroad in France.” (Biography) Jackie’s parents were divorced when she was young, but that didn’t stop her from participating in the hobbies she liked to do. Winning many awards for her appearance and social elegance, and hobbies, and talents, Jackie became a well-known, active teen throughout the area as she was growing up. Jacqueline Kennedy’s prominent, well-rounded, sophisticated childhood greatly influenced her role as First Lady in many ways.
