Jobs was a living icon and a visionary example who made impossible things possible and used what he learned from education to discover a company that has over millions of users today, Apple Inc. First of all, Steve always gave his work the biggest priority in life. For him, Apple was everything. He did not tolerate anyone’s carelessness or distraction toward work. Jobs’ vision for Apple was for it to “become a wonderful consumer products company.” His goal was to establish a self-reinforcing system of products and to predict and respond to customers’ demands. An important quality he had as a leader was that he made it his ambition to communicate the change he had in mind. Steve highly valued the idea of communication, which meant spending longer working hours to accommodate the needs of the customers. Jobs had great ambitions for product excellence. He was very particular about elegant design and simplicity. Unlike many other CEOs he specifically focused on the details, especially when it came to the product and how it was sold to the market. He set futuristic goals for hardware and software and encouraged people to strive for more than they dreamed possible. Steve Jobs had a very hands-on technique to product design, which was inevitably the most favorite part of his job. In an interview with TIME, Steve explained what a typical work day looked like for him. "I 'm a good morning person. I like it early in the morning...But I have a pretty sophisticated setup; whether I 'm at Apple or at Pixar or at my home, I log in and my whole world shows up on any of those computers. It 's all kept on a server. So I carry none of it with me, but wherever I am, my complete world shows up, all my files. Everything. And I have high speed access to all of it. So my office is at home too. Steve developed innovations and inventions in technology that were meant to benefit the people. He wanted to make technology accessible to everyone, so he made his tech smaller and cheaper. Steve Wozniak made the first prototype, but it was Jobs who “saw the potential” in his computer and persuaded Wozniak to sell it (Peterson 106). Even though that first computer saw very little success, Jobs knew that Apple had potential and so released the Apple II. From the beginning Jobs knew what the consumers wanted, and where computers were going to take the world; he had a vision of the opportunities in technology and saw that Apple needed to move in a different direction. In 1984, one year before he left, Jobs finished the Macintosh computer system. He was pushed from his original computer design project, “the Lisa”, and then raced to release the Mac first, but the Lisa was released to the public first. The culture one is raised in as a child, and the people we come into contact with in our daily lives, can all be classified as encounters we have with socialisation. As young children who enter this world, we imitate those close to us and behaviours begin to form. It is through this imitation we also discover to express our emotions. These characteristics are engrained in us from a young age and are the major basic building blocks to help us develop our individual identities.
We think Steve Jobs was a successful leader because he was imaginative, passionate about his job, he had the ability to push employees to create new things, had confidence, and believed in collaboration. Under Steve Jobs' leadership Apple was an innovative company and under Tim Cook's leadership Apple is now being seen as more of charitable, socially and ethically responsible company. And gained a great deal by the way you treated each and everyone in the same manner. Team members would have to say that he was someone that took same getting used to.
