The Land Of Liberty Analysis

All around the world you hear about how everyone believes that America is the best country in the world. Listening to all these stories about how this country is “The Land of Liberty” shows why the U.S has had such a tremendous influence. People are always expressing their passion for this country, but they don't know the entire truth. The United States has had many problems, it's just unavoidable, but this country is giving false hope for many people around the world that this is the best place on Earth. Here in America we are promised that every man woman and child will be treated fairly no matter the cause, however in many instances this is not the case. Today, even though we are promised this, there is no freedom and justice for all.

of the main foundations that our for fathers had based this country on was every citizen has the right to freedom. Because of this, freedom is the sole basis of our American society, but the meaning of freedom has changed greatly. You are free as long as the vast majority agree with your beliefs and ideas. These days having an opposing opinion about freedom sometimes is a very dangerous thing. When Martin Luther King Jr. said,” I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed…” he angered a lot of people. Fights broke out over these ideas and many people died for it, but why? Many laws were made before that time that every man is created equal, yet when a man says he doesn't feel equally to everyone else he gets accused and hated by many. That is why many harbor the thought and ideas even when they are “free” to express their own opinions.
In the chorus of The Liberty Song they sing proudly,” Not as slaves, but as free men our money we’ll give.” They sing this section many times as a good thing, but in no way is this acceptable. They are essentially saying that in order to be free you need to pay for it. There is a large percentage of the population that are not able to afford this. All these rules about how much money needs to be given back or how much taxes need to be paid is a large sum of money for many people. This large amount of money that you are required to pay makes it very hard to live a life where you feel you have not been treated fair. When people are forced to pay more amounts of money than others just based on who they are, this is not just at all.
Having freedom and justice in a society is very important. The culture of america relies so heavily on it, yet with one in action the other won't seem as important. With no justice everyone will be able to go wild and do whatever they want without any results from there sometimes harmful actions. Citizens will be free to do whatever they want because they are free, but that is how countries fail. That is why there needs to be justice. In order for the people to not go crazy there needs to be rules set forth restricting some things that are not right. Although with these rules, freedom is being taken away. It is very hard for the government to make rules to allow both freedom and justice for everyone, but in order for freedom or justice to happen the other one has to be sacrificed.
Although America is considered to be a much better place than many other countries, there are many problems that are inescapable. Freedom and Justice is the slogan America uses to people all around the globe to get them to come to the United States. But when these essential understandings start to become less relied on what elses does America offer that is more spectacular than other countries. Helen Lansman Cohen shares her ideas and says,” I’m free. I’m just like a bird. You can land and fly on any tree, and you're free.” However these days the idea of freedom can not be met with such cavalier attitudes.
