Timmy was starting to get nervous, his last race before the tournament is tomorrow and he is not sure if he is prepared. Timmy was sitting in his room trying to figure out how he was going to win, then his mom, Martha walked in. She knew that Timmy would be upset over his race, she tried to reassure him that his new ship LS7-V8 would be able to beat his opponent, Gavin, the three-time champion of the tournament. Martha said reassuringly, “Timmy I have faith in you, you have been practicing for this all year, even when it was -100°C outside on the moon.” Timmy looked up from his planning book and said, “Mother how can you be so sure, have you seen Gavin’s new ship, the Maro 5L-V8? She walked over to him wondering what he was doing to the ship that they had just bought Timmy. Dave said, “I was out flying the ship earlier and I heard a noise, we have a huge problem, there is a hole through one of the pistons.” “Well how long will it take to fix?” asked Martha. “It is going to be close, probably half an hour before the race, working on it non-stop until the race, I should be able to get it done earlier if I have Timmy helping me. Anyways, can you fly into town and pick up a dual Whipple turbocharger? It will give us the extra edge we need to beat Gavin this year, it has always been close but it should work this year.” said Dave. As Martha was in town Dave went inside to get Timmy to help him with the damaged piston and eventually install the Whipple Turbocharger. Dave told Timmy about the piston and how he needed to fix it but did not tell him about the turbocharger, because it is a surprise. Dave and Timmy fixed the ships piston at 11 p.m. and Timmy went to bed so he was prepared for the big race against Gavin, while he was sleeping Dave installed the Whipple Turbocharger and went to bed as …show more content…

After breakfast, it was just about time for the race so they went home and got LS7-V8 and headed for the starting line on Mars. Everyone they knew was there, supporting Timmy as this is the closest he has ever gotten to being in the tournament. He went around and thanked everyone for being there for him, then about ten minutes until the race he went and got seated in his ship. Gavin had been talking to all the hot aliens before the race, how Timmy dreamed of being drowned in girls, he knew that he needed this. Then the race was about to start, 30, 20, 10, 5, START, he was off! Mars to Jupiter it should only take five minutes, three to the asteroid belt, which is where the fun began. He was there in record time, but the asteroid belt is where his skills were need dodging asteroid left and right as he went, he was almost through but then he heard a sound, something came loose in the engine bay. Then it flew out, a Whipple dual turbocharger, he still had not known it was in there, and it was gone, Dave had connected it wrong and now the engine stopped working because it had replaced the engine belt for the added horsepower it gave. Timmy saw it then, the asteroid was right in front of him, he was going to hit it if he could not get the engine fixed, he could not.     The Kite Runner focuses on the relationship between two Afghan boys Amir and Hassan. Amir is a Pashtun and Sunni Muslim, while Hassan is a Hazara and a Shi’a. Despite their ethnic and religious differences, Amir and Hassan grow to be friends, although Amir is troubled by Hassan, and his relationship with his companion, one year his junior, is complex. Amir and Hassan seem to have a "best friend" type relationship. The two boys, Hassan and Amir, are main characters in the book titled, The Kite Runner. The two boys have a relationship that is significantly different compared to most. There are many different facets that distinguish the relationship the boys possess. The boys do write their names in a pomegranate tree as the "sultans of Kabul" (Kite Runner 27) but, their friendship is not strong and it is one sided. Hassan has love for Amir. He loves him like a brother. Hassan is exceedingly loyal to Amir. The relationship between the two boys is emotionally wearing and rather gloomy for the most part. The main reason for their complicated relationship is the fact that Amir is Pashtun, and Hassan is Hazara. The Afghan society places Hassan lower than Amir. Hassan is Amir's servant.
