The Killing Robert Muchamore was born in 1972. His books have sold millions of copies around the world, and he regularly tops the bestseller charts. He has won numerous awards for writing, including the Red house children's book award. ‘The KIlling’ is the fourth book in the Cherub series, and one of my favorites. The plot of the book is like the others, where James (the main character) get’s given a mission and has to read the briefing. This tells us who the bad guy is. He is a russian refugee named leon Tarasov who came to britain (where it’s based) to start a new. He finds himself in debt and will lose his pub the queen of russia. But he comes across a new lot of money and pays his debts and buys a second hand car dealership and a new …show more content…
The book had many different things to keep track of but still stayed on the main plot. It was really good when they managed to bring in all my favorite characters which really made the ending work even better. This book was well balanced with drama and suspense and it just flowed throughout the book. The book was written in first person, in James and his friends perspective and we see everything how they see it. I like all the background information you are given whilst there is an exciting thing going on and that just makes it really good because you don’t think about it until the chapter is over and some sort of outcome has happened. This is one of those books that are written so well that you just cannot put it down it’s just so full of action you have to read it in one go! I really liked this book, it all worked together and the plot line was well written. I couldn’t put it down. It is my favorite in the Cherub series (so far) and in my opinion it is worth the read though it was a small book and could’ve been longer. I recommend this book but only if you’re twelve or over as it does have drug use and other violence. This book is a must read and so is the whole series but for a great book I give this book four and a half mangled bloodied bodies out of five mangled bloodied
The book had a few characters that I liked, but a lot of characters that I disliked. For example Yasmine was a character that I disliked. I didn’t like her because she brought pain to Paige’s life. Yasmine and Paige were best friends for months in Sixth grade. They were constantly doing fun activities together, like having sleepovers or planning each other’s birthday parties, but all that was ruined by a mistake Yasmine made. Paige and Yasmine were at a school dance, when
Fans of the novel found that the way the novel is written, you never want to put it down and the action keeps things moving and is quite entertaining. The novel pulls you in and makes you love each of the main characters in it. This is a great series for anyone to read, and it is audience friendly for whoever reads them. There is quite a bit of suspense that will make the novel exceed readers 's expectations, and the twists and turns keeps you guessing and lets nothing be predictable. Some like the way this group of people bands together when they really need to and keep things together so they can all stop the
I found the book to be easy, exciting reading because the story line was very realistic and easily relatable. This book flowed for me to a point when, at times, it was difficult to put down. Several scenes pleasantly caught me off guard and some were extremely hilarious, namely, the visit to Martha Oldcrow. I found myself really fond of the char...
In my eyes I loved the book I rate it a 9/10, its had a good twist and turn to it. I loved this
I feel like the novel gave me a good, accurate insight of what it would have been like to be a fly on the wall in those secret meetings. The novel captures a good picture of what it may have been like to be a member of royalty or a simple commoner trying to make a change. Most of the political figures/groups in the novel were given distinct personality traits that made the reader aware of how important status and power were to those who lived in the 1700s. I also enjoyed characters like Benjamin Franklin and Sam Adams- to me, they were portrayed very accurately and both of their characters possessed most of the same qualities that they had in real-life. In the novel, for example, Franklin is (accurately) represented as a creator, a womanizer, and- most importantly- a
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel because it connected the dots on how the Narnia series started. I would definitely choose another book by this author because he makes fictional stories that you cans apply to biblical aspects. I liked the fact that the story connected with the others in the series. I did not like how some spots in the plot were dry and not pertaining to the story. I would recommend this novel to anyone who is a fan of the Narnia series.
My overall opinion of this book is good I really liked it and recommend it to anyone. It is a good book to read and it keep you interested throughout the whole book.
I think my favorite thing about this novel was the realistic ending. Some books try to just give you a fairy tale but this book had an ending that mad you think in the end if I was in the same position would I do the same thing. I didn’t like the fact that the novel portrayed mental illness in a way to say that it needed to be hidden and protected. I thought this novel was very believable for the time period that it was set in. I think the ending to this novel was perfect it was an accurate ending to this
The book and the movie were both very good. The book took time to explain things like setting, people’s emotions, people’s traits, and important background information. There was no time for these explanations the movie. The book, however, had parts in the beginning where some readers could become flustered.
There's a lot in this compact book; it's not light on plot, development or world building. Conclusion packs a punch and I can't wait to see where it leads. I loved the character progression all around. I'm really curious to explore this world more and discover how our characters fare. Sure, I could see certain things coming, like their love story, but I wasn't itching with irritation because pacing was great. I was enjoying the picturesque flowing ride.
All in all, this book was good even though I do not enjoy reading. Despite many things that I thought could have been clarified and in a lot of instances, were so dumb that they insulted me, I was entertained by the book. It had a little bit of everything…Mind games, action, gore and death, and what I thought was the best part of the entire book…Great characters. Between the most important characters, such as Malcom, to the lower-status ones such as Sarah Harding, or even Kelley and Arby's parents, who never actually appear…All of them were greatly put together. I might not be able to recommend this book to you if you are reading for pleasure, but if there was one book that you absolutely had to read, Michael Crichton's The Lost World has to be it.
I would certainly recommend this novel for the sheer fact of how involved you become in the novel. I kept wanting to continue reading to see what twist would come up next.
One of the best features of the book is how it was written. The point of view changes every chapter. For example Chapter 1 is written in the point of view of the infamous Foxy character. Chapter 2 is written in the point if view of our protagonist, Steve; and so on .I also liked how the author built the relationship of the characters up, so you care about what happens to them and feel like you're going through what they are going through. For instance, the author tells us of Steve's wife's death. We find out that Steve's son, Neil was never the same after this tragedy. When a new women, Sharon comes into Steve's life, Neil rejects her. Neil thinks that if Sharon and his father get married ,his father will send him away. When Neil and Sharon are held hostage together, Neil's feelings for Sharon change; he begins to see her as a nice person and a motherlike figure. I felt the author built this relationship up well so that the story would have a happy ending.
series for two reasons. The first reason is because it ties up all the questions I had from the other books. This book really was a good ending, for me at least. And the second reason is because it’s just a great book. It has mystery, suspense, humor, action and many more things that keep you from putting the book down. On a scale of one to ten I would rate this ten and it is also my number one favorite book (so far).
If somebody told me that there was a book in which two hundred pages of plot was accurately and completely summarized in one short paragraph and character development was of no concern, I would have been most certain that what they actually had read was a screenplay for a porno. Plot was obviously not one of James' major concerns with this novel, but to his credit, implements it better than Willa Cather's Death Comes for the Archbishop.
