The Joy of Smoking Cigarettes
The side of smoking that is rarely published will be explored in this paper. The side that only a smoker knows, not the side the governments and health agencies provide the news media with. This information is valuable because it is not very well exposed to the world. This essay will answer the question, “Why do you smoke cigarettes?”.
Smoking can be very fun. Smoking is a good way to kick back during work. Smoking can actually be a reward, and a reward that we can give to ourselves at any time of the day. Smoking a cigarette after accomplishing a goal can be very pleasurable. Whether at home or in the workplace smoking can be used as a reward. ...as the turning point of the American Civil War. The battle proved to show the most casualties of any battle throughout the war and resulted in a crushing and demoralizing defeat of the Confederates. Coming off of his “perfect battle”, Lee’s overconfidence proved to be a downfall as his expectation for his men greatly exceeded the reality of his army. Added to this, his disorganization and lack of coordination led to numerous disjointed attacks that failed and in turn exhausted his men. Finally, Lee ultimately knew less about his opponent throughout the entire battle, which was a huge switch from previous meetings between the two sides. He was forced to fight arguably the most important battle of the Civil War with insufficient intelligence of the enemy, its positions and its intentions. All of these factors are what caused the Confederates to fail at Gettysburg.
Ending in 51,112 casualties, the Battle of Gettysburg was a three day series of conflict between the Union and the Confederate, starting on July 1st, and lasting until July 3rd. Combined, George G. Meade, Union General, and Robert E. Lee, Confederate General,
Mann wrote about, in varying degrees, his improvement interests in the areas of public versus private school attendance, preparing the student for real life experiences, equality among people, gender roles and gender expectations, recognition of teacher accomplishments and attributes. In addition, teacher safety, morality, classroom management and discipline, academic content, salary, books and qualified teachers were among his primary concerns.
Once there the Union formed a strong defensive position that resembled that of a fishhook, with Culp's Hill and the two Round Tops anchoring each end. After reinforcements had arrived the Union position was three miles long. Meanwhile, the Confederate troops occupied Gettysburg and Seminary Ridge to the west. Lee did not dig his army in a defensive position at all. He believed that his own army was invincible, even though they were without out their cavalry, which was off somewhere harassing other Union soldier, but on the first day of battle, the confederates are victorious
leads Lee to severly consider the truth of Harrison. Had Lee have stayed in Taneytown, Pennsylvania the outcome of the entire civil war would be hendered slightly.
...army to procure the lead. Later on, a misinterpretation from General Meade that was made caused the Union to lose a great number of soldiers and almost lost a very valuable position at Little Round Top. Union troops however, maintained composure and defeated the Confederate attack on Culp’s Hill, forcing the Confederates to retreat. The ultimate mistake that shifted the course of the battle was on the third day when the Confederates believed that they had destroyed the artillery from the union. Had a different approach from General Picket occurred, rather than through open fields, then perhaps General Lee’s army would have won the battle of Gettysburg and maintained position in Northern soil. Terrible losses and the retreat of the South were significant turning points of the war. The South had to abandon its effort to take the war to North from that point on.
In taking his army north from the Rappahannock, General Lee's objective was to persuade the Union Army to spread across a broad front along the Mason-Dixon line, and then, by maneuver, draw it to a point far from its base of supply where it could be attacked and beaten in detail.
The battle at Gettysburg was a defining moment in the Civil War not only because of the battle itself, but what prevailed with civilian opposition, and the events that changed the trajectory of the battle. The Turning Point of the War on July 1, 1863, the Union Army of the Potomac engaged the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia which had advanced into the north.
The Civil War, which took place 1861 through 1865, was a war of great turmoil, controversy and inner conflict. It shaped the future lives of Americans and was a huge decider in the government that we all know today. The Civil War was not only a turning point in American history, but it was also a benchmark in the abolishment of slavery and the unionization of the country. During the seven years of the Civil War, the Battle of Gettysburg was one of the most significant battles as it marked the turning point of the War in terms of its victor and it also painted the landscape of our country’s future.

There are many causes which make people smoke, however it can be divided into two main causes: physical and psychological. First cause which is physical concerns the human body’s needs. Nicotine contained in cigarette is an addictive substance. It is the chemical which causes addiction. Nicotine reduces tension in the muscles and allows smokers to relax so they feel that they can relieve stress by smoking. Thus, people smoke when they are depressed, lonely or bored. Nicotine is absorbed by the smoker’s lung and intestines. Very quickly, nicotine can stimulate brain and certain types of nerves so heart rate and blood pressure go up; respiration increases. A little nicotine makes smokers feel more energy and improve concentration. As a consequence, these physical effects created by smoking play an important role in making people feel the need to smoke.
