The Journey to Become a Vet

Do you have what it takes to become a vet? Do you know what you have to do and how long you have to go to school to become a veterinarian. Do you know how hard the schooling is. Do you have the stomach to be able to do some of the things that it entitles, can you stitch up an open wound after you clean it, or do surgery on a cat or dog. Being a veterinarian isn’t just playing with animals you there’s a lot of stuff that you have to do that we will talk about in this paper.

According to Penn State college of agricultural sciences the main idea about this subject is what you need to do to become a vet (2014). You need to go to college and take all courses in math, chemistry, biology, and physics. You need to have taken an undergraduate degree program, which is a bachelor's degree. Before you can become a vet you also need to have volunteering, which you would volunteer helping with animals which you could do at a vet clinic or at an animal shelter. After you are done with the classes you need to take a Graduate record examinations. Graduate record examinations are what you need to show that you know what you learned in those classes. You are also going to need letters of recommendations from people who really know you to write about you and tell the school who you really are. In conclusion the article says there’s a lot of work that needs to be done but if you love animals enough anybody can do it.

You will need to be able to cope with stress of daily things you might see also be able to control your emotions. At first it could be hard to do those two things but it will take time getting over what you will see, some cases you might not ever get over. You can get it done as long as you put your mind to it and push through all the schooling. All of the animals you might see could leave a mark on you, you will just need to stay professional about it. If you have an owner in front of you and you know its something bad and you don’t think you will be able to help the animal but there’s a chance that you can, you can’t show the owner that you are unsure about their pet, because no pet owner wants to see their beloved pet sick or hurt.
