Imagine a world with barren trees in overgrown fields. The only sound to be heard is the wind blowing through the tall grass. A world once full of life now lays empty do to extinction. This is the result of a world that failed to understand the importance of wildlife conservation. Why is wildlife so important? What steps need to be taken to preserve wildlife? How can one become involved in wildlife conservation? These are all important questions that need to be explored in order to help maintain the delicate ecosystem on Earth. Wildlife plays a vital role in this fragile ecosystem and without wildlife the human race would not survive. The initial step in wildlife conservation is understanding why wildlife is vital to the ecosystem in the first place. Earth is one immense ecosystem. According to Inamullah Khan from Environmental News, wildlife plays a important role in the world's ecosystem. Inamullah Khan states that wildlife is key to six parts of the ecosystem: "ecological value, economic value, recreational value, scientific value, social value, and aesthetical value." (Inamullah Kahn) Inamullah Kahn explains that "ecological value is the interaction of wildlife in nature." (Inamullah Kahn) The ecosystem relies on harmony between all species. Without this equity balances would shift leading to discord and eventual collapse of the ecosystem. "Food chains" would become altered leading to the upset of the natural sequence of life. (Inamullah Kahn) Nature is a deligate balance of life and with the loss of one species all others will cease. It is known that the world relies on capital. Without it the economy would collapse leading to war, famine, and death. Wildlife is an integral part of the world's economy. National Parks are the cornerstone of every country because it preserves the rich cultural and natural resources of a nation, such as Yellowstone in the United States of America. Yellowstone National Park is the World’s First National Park which brings millions of attraction each year, it is larger than Rhode Island and Delaware combine and have over a thousand species of plants and animal (Yellowstone Media). However, a very important type of species has been missing in Yellowstone National Park for a very long time. Wolves, which got reintroduce back into Yellowstone National Park, should stay there because without them the ecosystem would be out of balance.
(1) Hunters will keep passing on their knowledge of hunting and the environment to their kids and anyone else that would like to learn about this. The ecosystem is very important to keeping our world in good health.
Scientists were able to observe the effects of taking a major species out of an ecosystem, and the effects or reincorporating that species back into the ecosystem, which is described as “Scientific literature.” (Smith) A similar occurrence took place in Central Idaho, however was overshadowed by the prominence of Yellowstone. Wolves were high on the endangered species list and activists wanted to see a return of wolves to Idaho’s backcountry. In both Yellowstone, and Idaho many opposed the introduction to wolves, however many also supported through the Endangered Species Act, and wolf recovery program.
My first point, feeding wildlife disrupts natural cycles. Wild animals will learn to come to humans for food. If constantly rewarded with food when they approach humans, animals will learn how easy it is to gain food, and move out of their natural habitat into human populated areas. Their natural ha...
When the topic regarding conservation comes up, what is the first thing you think of? Surely, a Bengal tiger or a fluffy polar bear. This is because the main focus of conservation is on flagship species. They are generally animals which are preferred by the public allowing them to secure a large proportion of the funding. Famous flagship species range from the cuddly Panda to the good ole’ American bald eagle. A disadvantage of this method is that the fixation on a small number of organisms skews the public perception of conservation. This type of conservation is essential to put the topic on the public agenda but too much of it can be detrimental.
Currently there are many animal species that are endangered and could even go extinct. That is why we have protected areas that can ensure a healthy life for these animals. since 1990 there has been a large increase in these protected areas, they contain guards that are willing protect and ensure a sustainable environment limited to the protected area. We have seen an increase in protected land area from 8.9% to 14.6% on the earths surface from 1990 to 2014. And the protected marine area is around 5.3% on the earths surface. a significant portion of the world’s population depend on protected areas. CBD (The Convention on Biological Diversity) seeks to conserve at least 17 per cent of the world’s terrestrial areas and 10 per cent of coastal and marine areas by 2020 and this UNs goal when it comes to reduction of biodiversity loss. Some Mammals, Birds, and other species are currently heading for extinction faster than ever. In the recent years some countries such as Denmark and Sweden has managed to reduce extinction rate of some species and the UN Is currently working to get more countries to follow
Have we killed off half the world's wildlife for the past 40 years? Can you imagine living in a world without animals? According to The World Wildlife Fund, “Earth has lost half of its wildlife in the past 40 years”. Everyday, species across the world are vanishing due to destruction of habitat, poaching, illegal hunting and fishing by humans.
According to World WildLife Fund, many ecosystems around the world are being destroyed, eliminating many plant and animal species that inhabit them (“Pollution”).
There is a developing importance between the nature conservationists in connection with the hypothesis of rewilding which is defined as an ambitious model of ecological restoration that aims to generate ecosystem services through a natural process, rather than the micro-management associated with traditional approaches to conserving endangered species (Rubenstein et. al. 2005). It is usually a hands-off method of reintroduce keystone species such as beaver and wolves which are capable of re-organising the whole ecosystems through the predictor behavioral effects (Donlan et.al. 2005). As revolutionary scientific ideas began to develop, it brought about the idea bringing back the megafauna such as lions and elephants to North America have created a very heated debate. In contrast the concept, termed ‘Pleistocene Rewilding’ is considered as a succession of carefully managed ecosystem manipulations that would counter the pest-and-weed biotas which are promoted by human impact, secondly it facilitates the evolution and persistence of large vertebrates on a global scale and thirdly it changes the underlying premise of conservation from managing extinction to actively restoring biological processes (Donlan et.al. 2005).Furthermore Pleistocene rewilding is seen as a radical departure from the normality which has caused it to receive major criticism from other science specialist. While there are reasonable criticisms
Animals went extinct more than can double because of their fur(Camp,186). When a species reproducing and alive that mean they are renewable in fish and animal wildlife. In fish and animal wildlife they're assistants that raise fish, they release game birds, and also maintain animal cages. Water is very important in the fish and animal wildlife population. The water affects fish in the water and around the water. A example if there was a fish tank full of fish, the water would have to be room temperature because some fish require different temperature. Also there should not be a lot of algae around the fish because if there is too much algae the fish will die. If the wildlife population increase, damage can appear in the animal forest. When wildlife population area becomes too great, the forest and the animals suffer.
In the history of humankind, the extirpation of predators has always been at the top of the priority list. However, no one ever thought of the backlash it would have on the environment. Large predators have always been looked at as the enemy of man people have learned to fear these remarkable animals that they were directly competing with for resources and survival. The decline of large predator populations has caused ecological complications all over the world (Weber and Rabinowitz 2010). From tigers and wolves to fishers and orcas, the human species has extirpated these primary consumers for economic development, safety, and hunting preference (Weber and Rabinowitz 2010). In the past, these actions were encouraged, but as recent ecological studies have shown these top predators have proved to provide a necessary balance to ecological hierarchy (Beyer et al. 2006).

Throughout history, many individuals wish to discover and explain the relationship between nature and society, however, there are many complexities relating to this relationship. The struggle to understand how nature and society are viewed and connected derives from the idea that there are many definitions of what nature is. The Oxford dictionary of Human Geography (2003), explains how nature is difficult to define because it can be used in various contexts as well as throughout different time and spaces. As a result of this, the different understandings of what nature is contributes to how the nature society relationship is shaped by different processes. In order to better understand this relation there are many theorists and philosophers
The beautiful species of the wild are being endangered more and more each day. Because of the increase of endangered wildlife society now faces several extinctions therefore, to prevent this problem, the government should pass laws or policies that provide greater protection and preservation, provide more information about endangered species, give more publicity to the issue and support charities.
Could you imagine a world without tigers, the giant panda, or the rhinoceros? What a paler place it would be. Astonishing amounts of animals are considered critically endangered and near extinction. If we would like these animals to be around for future generations, we cannot hesitate in our efforts to help them.
