De Soto compared to other town is quite small. This smallness in De Soto creates a tight knit community with neighbors helping neighbors. I personally do not live in De Soto, yet I do go to school here. With me not living in De Soto I more often than not do not feel like I am apart of this community. By applying for Cats Care to volunteer around De Soto, it would make me more involved in De Soto’s community. The importance of volunteering in De Soto is to help out the local’s and strengthen the community. By us, high schooler, helping out and volunteering around De Soto we can a stronger community because it shows that us, teenagers, care about our home and the people within it. Everyone is in need of help at least once in their lifetime and
if their solution is the Cats Care team volunteering to help them then I want to be part of the solution. In order to create a strong community we have to help each other out. Selfless act of care and help make everyone involved feel better. As a student of De Soto High School I feel as it is time for me to stop making excuses and start beginning an essential part in this community and help out the town that I have practically grew up in.
Dia de los reyes magos is on Jan. 5 - Feb. 2 and the day is about the 3 wisemen, But January the 6th is the special day in Mexico….. this day represents the height of the Christmas season. This celebration is where it is stated that the kings, Melchor, Gaspar, and Balthasar, traveled by night all the way from the farthest confines of the Earth to bring gifts to Jesus, whom they recognized as the Son of God. As well as regal, the Three Kings are depicted as wise men, whose very wisdom is proved by their acknowledgement of Christ's divine status. Arrived from three different directions, the kings followed the light provided by the star of Bethlehem, which reportedly lingered over the manger where the Virgin Mary gave birth for many days. In
Through the study of the Peruvian society using articles like “The “Problem of the Indian...” and the Problem of the Land” by Jose Carlos Mariátegui and the Peruvian film La Boca del Lobo directed by Francisco Lombardi, it is learned that the identity of Peru is expressed through the Spanish descendants that live in cities or urban areas of Peru. In his essay, Mariátegui expresses that the creation of modern Peru was due to the tenure system in Peru and its Indigenous population. With the analyzation of La Boca del Lobo we will describe the native identity in Peru due to the Spanish treatment of Indians, power in the tenure system of Peru, the Indian Problem expressed by Mariátegui, and the implementation of Benedict Andersons “Imagined Communities”.
First to start out, we should get some facts straight. A conquistador is basically a Spanish conqueror. Their main goals were to search for gold and other riches from the Caribbean and draw them back to the mainland. The absolute most important conquistador in all of history is Hernan Cortes.
The traditional European Society was both similar and different to that of the West African society. Except certain factors determined how they would vary in opinions, this also affected how they handled situations when they faced an obstacle. The Europeans, Africans, and the Native Americans were diverse in their own ways , they had many similarities , but they took different approaches to situations.(Chapter 1,Page 6)
...ieve life goals. The community should encourage continued community service from college students that receive scholarships and or some type of financial aid to volunteer, with the existing programs. This could increase the amount of people available to these after school and summer programs, while saving the city some money. This could prove to be a major step in continuing to improve the city and make it a desired place to live and prosper.

My first experience that involved contribution to a community was in an organization known as girls as pearls. In this organization we participated in many volunteer activities, both domestic and global such as making dresses for girls in africa or volunteering at the samaritan ministry. Consequently, this early volunteerism experience influenced my involvement in the community as a high school student. I became involved in organizations such as key club, an organization focused in volunteerism. Additionally, I began to tutor middle school students and volunteering at the local church. Many of the volunteer activities that I have participate in involved children and this due to the reason that I want to be able to become a positive guide and role model for children. I want to contribute to their motivation of continuing their education and to reach for goals that they believe they can achieve. As a hispanic american I have been provided the opportunity of experiencing life from two different viewpoints which has provided me with various life lessons that aided in my development in becoming a successful and well- rounded
This piece of art was commission in 1853 and hung in 1855. The painting captures Hernando De Soto, the Spanish conquistador and explorer, riding in on a white horse symbolizing victory, in the finest of attire in the brightness of the picture. The painting depicts his discovery of the Mississippi River as he and troops approach the river and the Natives that are camped in front of it. As De Soto moves towards the Natives, who are in front of their teepees, the chief extends a seemly piece offering a piece pipe to him. This picture further tells a deeper story as you look at the darker part of it. There are cannons, weapons, and injured men. There is someone praying as a cross is being into the ground, indicating there was a battle for
Volunteering enables a person to develop new skills that he or she would otherwise not have been able to develop. Unlike most other organizations, a charitable organization is happy to give positions to passionate, though inexperienced, individuals who desire to help others and benefit the community. Therefore, an individual with little experience in a field of work can gain meaningful skills that he or she can use in the future. For example, while I volunteered at the hospital this summer, I learned about the daily work lives and professional duties of doctors and nurses. Had I not volunteered, I would not have learned about these things. I was always interested in the medical field, but volunteering at the hospital let me explore my interests and en...

Thousands of homeless animals are looking for forever homes in America. Volunteering is a great way to give to your community and socialize the animals at the shelters. Working with dogs and cats that have not had good starts in their lives helps them trust again. It helps animals get over the trauma they have had before they went to the shelter. Socializing makes the animal more adoptable and they are given a chance to get forever homes. Volunteer at your local humane society 's and help out the animals like I have worked with in shelters.
Raising community awareness to students will teach them the importance of being involved in the community. Students being able to give back to the community will prepare them for their journey to being a positive role model or servant leader.
There like all over the place and they needed someone to be in the office but I was there to help them. Even though I wasn’t able to answer calls because im underage. It also takes money to hire many people to do work, by me volunteering the community saves money that can be saved to spend on important things like supplies for the daycare and etc. It can also make a difference. This helps us better to understand our own competence. Also, volunteering provides valuable community services to spent the money on local improvements. It helps save resources because now for volunteering it’s $15 dollars per hour. Supports families too. What appears to be an issue in our society is that there’s not enough people to help many kids. So each person could pay attention to the kids cause one person can’t take many kids to the bathroom and since there small I’m guessing there going to need help so I recommend to be more people. In this way, they can pay attention on some kids and the other person with the others like team work I’ve experienced it it’s not easy. The only reason I believe this has been an issue in our society because there’s not enough money to pay for a lot of people who are helping out. I know that the government helps but what about other
Not only do they assist homeless people and families, but they provide a warm meal to whoever is hungry. You can sense that this is a good place not only by the number of volunteers and the welcoming faces, but also by the attitudes of the people who are obtaining the assistance. If this location was closer to my home, I would most definitely continue volunteering. I think this is a good experience to continue with future students. I feel it provides you with an outlook to the obstacles of ones future students that might be encountering homeless. If you never experiences something or knows very little of a situation then how would someone be able to best handle the situation at hand. I think being involved in the community one way or another helps teacher understand their student environment and what obstacles they might encounter in their everyday
