Modern humans have inhabited this Earth for long periods of time and dwelled for much of it without causing much irrevocable harm to the environment. However, the widespread abuse, overexploitation, and pollution started affecting the environment negatively over the last few centuries. The environment is not only the undeveloped land, such as forests, oceans, deserts, etc. When we hear the term environment, maybe some of us may think of the times they have been at a local or national park, visited the beach, or took a trip to the mountains. It is true that each of these is an example of the environment, but also our home, school, work, car; even we are a part of the environment. The environment is everything that surrounds us on the Earth. …show more content…
I am motivated by the biblical verses that we find in John 3:1-17 (NIV) when Jesus washes His disciples’ feet to show His servant attitude to them. He serves them, as the lowliest slave would do, to reveal to them that even if He is the Son of God or God Himself in the flesh, He is willing to serve. He says that if they want to follow Him, they need to follow His path and be servants like Him. I want to be a servant as Jesus taught us because indeed, “the key to a servant leader’s heart is humility” (Kouzes & Posner, 2004, p. 104). I want to make a real difference in my circle of influence (Lindsay & Smith, 2004, p. …show more content…
The Green Team is going to coordinate activities and lunches “Employee Engagement Initiative” to educate others. They are many activities that we have on the calendar for next summer, for example, they have activities such as pick up litter, bike to work event, plant trees, lunch on the lawn “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink, Repurpose, Repeat.” They also encourage employees to donate to an environmental
When everyone is going through their everyday life remember to keep the environment in mind
There is no hesitation when it comes to whether humans impact the global environment. However, it is questioned in whether human’s ecological footprint is either negatively or positively impacting. In clear perspective, humans share from both sides and their ecological footprint is noted towards whether it will benefit or harm the environment around them. Topics such as overpopulation, pollution, biomagnification, and deforestation are all human impacted and can harm the environment, but some include benefits into helping the world around us with solutions to their problems.
Angela Park quotes Angela Johnson Mezaros in Everybody’s Movement: Environmental Justice and Climate Change, stating that the belief that most mainstream environmentalists view the environment as “…someplace over there. You get in your car and drive to it. It’s not something you’re a part of. There is little space in that definition to incorporate concerns in ways that resonate with others who define the environment differently.”1 Environment means many things depending on
The environment is one of the only issues in the world that everyone agrees to protect and fix. The environment does need to be protected, but society focusses on the wrong parts. They focus on the rising CO² levels and the melting of the polar ice caps. The ice caps are not disappearing, so instead of focusing on the ice caps, society should focus on protecting the environment from oil spills, toxic waste spills, and other environmental hazards. The CO² levels are healthy for humans and plant life alike, so instead of the healthy greenhouse gas being blamed for the world problems, maybe we should look at how to fix the rise of the harmful greenhouse gases that are damaging the earth. As a society, we focus on the problems of the least importance. If we spent just a little bit more time on the real problems, maybe the problems would already be

Environmental pollution has always remained a serious problem in society today. Our planet is often being polluted by many toxins that are not only deadly to us, but our wildlife too. Environmental pollution leads to air pollution, environmental crisis, and global warming. Now there are many different ways that can help these topics be preventable. People need to understand what environmental sustainability truly is. Learning environmental sustainability will give people the tools and knowledge to help sustain our planet before it is too late. Planet earth is our home and people need to understand the damage being done to it. Understanding these important key factors will lead our planet to become healthier and a better place for life to live.
When I think of the perfect place, I imagine a cascading waterfall, a vast forest, a stunning mountainside, or a warm sunset on the beach. I look up around me, mesmerized by the vastness of the natural world and breathe in the fresh air. Over the course of my life, I have come to respect the environment and the earth’s natural surroundings in ways that most others do not in the industrialized and technological era of today. I can appreciate the beauty of the Earth and of all the different landscapes and organisms that surround me. The way in which I value and treasure the environment has evolved just as I have. I see the environment as something to be preserved and admired, not destroyed or exploited. My relationship with the environment is
The end is not coming in a giant tidal wave, nor is it coming with massive fire. There will be no zombies, and there will be no mass explosion. The end is coming in increased carbon dioxide levels and slowly melting ice caps. Its coming in habitat destruction and human greed. Its end is almost here or maybe it is already here. But one this is for certain, the world needs people to care about the environment and the impact that humans are having on the environment.
The environment today is not in a good condition, Climate change is evident, and oceans are getting polluted. Rainforrest's are decreasing in size due to deforestation and illegal logging. Animals are getting extinct due to the destruction of their habitats. Natural resources are being consumed at very large amounts, and get wasted. There are different ways these problems can be addressed, one option is environmental management. Environmental management focuses on conservation of natural resources, protection of habitats, and impact of humans on the environment. Conservation of natural resources is the smart use of the world's resources by humans, through this waste production is limited, and there will be less garbage in the world. By conserving
The environment provides resources that help in supporting life on Earth and leads to growth of living organisms. Human beings hold an important and unique position in the nature due to the exceptional ability to influence the environment.
The environment around us gives us the habitat to live, is a condition for our existence and development so that protecting environment which is one of today’s most serious issues means protecting our lives. But almost every day we hear a new problem badly affecting the environment. The list of the new difficulties seems to be endless. We are all aware of these concerns and can admit that we caused them. Now, environmental protection is not the work of a single individual as it is the responsibility of the whole community, of every single person exists on this planet. The measures range from each citizen to the government.
The definition of Human/Environment interactions is interactions between the human social system and the rest of the ecosystem. For example whenever we are farming this is an interaction between Human and the environment. There are many other ways to affect the environment besides farming. We in fact make the environment worse everyday we go work/school. There are many factors that can make the environment worse than it already was. Such as when we use gas or diesel. These kind of gases make the ozone weak which could make our planet unlivable for humans. There are some organisms that could still live here if we couldn’t though, so this planet would still be inhabited by other organisms. We also hurt the environment when we cut down trees for cities or paper in which we need to continue growing our population. If we continue to cut down these trees we are destroying the habitats of several animals in which live on this earth with us. We are also affecting the environment when we consume so much water that some places in the world hardly even have access to a dependable clean water supply. As we evolve through technology one day these problems may not be a problem
As human beings we have a responsibility to protect ourselves, each other and our environment. The term environment refers to a complex set of social/cultural conditions that affect an individual or community. However, there are events and processes that occur in the environment that human beings have no control over. Environmental science, the systematic study of processes and materials in our environment, identifies temperature, precipitation and humidity as a few natural conditions. Natural conditions force us to be reactive, while things that we can control, such as consumption and waste, allow us to be proactive.
Is it right that future generations, who have committed no crimes, be forced to live in a contaminated environment with freshwater depletion, polluted air, global warming and biodiversity reduction just because our present generation has caused the damage? Should our future children be ensured an ecologically healthy environment? I think they should. I strongly believe that protecting the environment is extremely important. We are all part of the environment; Earth is what we all share in common. It is our home and we are obliged to preserve it. As someone who is aware, who cares and who is concerned, I’d like to help you understand why protecting our environment is vital. I believe that protecting the environment is essential for healthy living, in creating a healthful environment for our future generation and last but not least, the Earth is our one and only home.
Today talking about environmental issues lately to be like a common topic discussion until people take it for granted. However, the world facing a complex environmental problems related to each trouble that connected to one another and come out with greater impacts to the environment and humans. This is because the effects of environmental only can be seen in long term period rather than immediately result show up. Environmental issues must become one of the controversial matters in the society in order to make people know the truth what the world currently facing. There were a lot of environmental disaster happened such as climate change, global warming, various of pollutions, earthquake and etc. the rise of environmental issues begin with this urban development occur through several countries following with the technologies equip along. For sure, development will cause a huge negative impact to the environment if it deals without a care. Besides, the environment is the place in the ecosystem to hold and use in finding resources to continuously survive in this world. Thus, the finding and digging for the resources which happening extensively without preservation will not restore the surrounding similar with before. But then, the change cannot be refuse and people need to take an action to save the threaten the world and the ecosystem from being extinct. If each country has own output in causing an environmental problem, then consider the world to hold all the damage occurred. Exposing the effects of environmental issues throughout the world, make people realize the important to take care the environment.
