Humans have always been of social nature and they have taken it to the next level to keep in touch. Technology in the past couple of years has made it possible to serve human’s needs for interaction and more. Humans have always had some sort of contact with each other but over time it has only gotten easier. People have started out with word of mouth, to sending messengers, to then getting mail, and now with technology, we have email and social networking. The youth of the millennium have invented smartphones that have taken over the world and their sole purpose is to keep humans of all ages in touch. But some of this generation’s favorites are Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook. Each of them contains a different but similar way to …show more content…

Instagram is more like Facebook than Snapchat or Twitter. Instagram is a social media site purely for sharing videos and pictures. Like every other app, you can share, favorite, or comment on posts. The pictures will remain up until the owner of the account takes them down and anyone who follows you will see them. Instagram has a direct message system but its primary use is to post pictures. Instagram’s content reaches out to most age groups but is still dominant in the teens to early 20s age
From walkmans to CD players to iPods, technology has evolved over the succession of the years; humans have taken extensive steps towards a technological transformation that has revolutionized the manner in which several individuals communicate with one another. Likewise, various humans have opted for more modern methods to connect and contact their loved ones such as speaking on a cell phone, video chatting, e-mailing, instant messaging, and conversing through social media. With these contemporary methods of communication, global interaction has now been facilitated and easily accessible; conversing with individuals from across the world is as transparent and prompt as speaking with individuals within the same city. Nonetheless, these technological
Twitter is an online social networking service that has grown to a global scale. In 2006, it was created for people to be able to share short blurbs of information with each other, and it has done its job quite well. However, like most technologies, there comes consequences, good and bad, that many didn’t intend, or expect, to happen. Twitter has greatly affected the world, and society as a whole, as it affects everything from the news to even how we think.
As humans we have come to the point technologically where we could send messages to our relatives in a blink of an eye. Not only have we advanced technologically, but equally socially in a former fashion relevant to our advances.Although we have gone through drastic changes, one thing that hasn’t changed in our species was our desire for popularity, take our nations youth for example .It is natural for teenagers to reach a peak of popularity and back in the day this was done by going to football games and parties.,To bring it back to current times this could be achieved from the inside of a room through social media, where they gain Instafame through Instagram. We as a a world are more connected more than ever before and this is due to our
Advanced technology has allowed people to become more informed and involved in their communities, while creating new relationships with others. According to a survey conducted among teenagers, “those who used their smartphones for social media like Google+ or Twitter knew more people and were more
6:15 AM. Wake up. Twitter. Brushes teeth. Gets dressed. Twitter. Grabs keys. Gets to school. Twitter. Think about it. How many times a day do you check your Twitter account? Why is it so hard for some people to resist this form of social interaction? Why is it that it seems easier to make connections with others through this site, than it is in a situation where actual face-to-face interaction is involved? There are so many questions, yet not many answers. With 313 million active users, Twitter has not only become a site for mass communication, but has also served as an outlet of mass media, providing news as well as an opportunity for others to express their feelings on any topic of their preference (Twitter, 2016). With its mission statement
Unlike Snapchat, the pictures or videos that you post to Instagram don't ever disappear or go away unless you delete them. Although Instagram doesn't have all of those awesome snapchat filters they have a variety of their own unique filters and features. Instagram allows you to use their filters for your pictures as well as adjust the saturation and brightness of your photo. Instagram also has a higher quality of photos unlike snapchat. Snapchat has a daily average of 100-200 million active users daily and 400 million snaps are sent each day.
Social media is used by many people, young and old around the world as a way to communicate. Our lives have become so busy that it is difficult to maintain family and social relationships. “They use social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. On these sites users create profiles, communicate with friends and strangers, do research and share thoughts, photos, music, links and more” (Social Networking). With the use of social media you can be friends with all sorts of people without actually seeing or knowing them. “In many ways, social communities are the virtual equivalent of meeting at the general store or at church socials to exchange news and get updated on friends and families” (Cosmato).
“We barely have time to pause and reflect these days on how far communicating through technology has progressed. Without even taking a deep breath, we’ve transitioned from email to chat to blogs to social networks and more recently to twitter” (Alan 2007). Communicating with technology has changed in many different ways. We usually “get in touch” with people through technology rather than speaking with them face to face. The most popular way people discuss things, with another individual, is through our phones. Phones have been around way before I was born in 1996, but throughout the years, they have developed a phone called a “smart phone”. The smart phone has all kinds of new things that we can use to socialize with our peers. On these new phones, we can connect with our friends or family on social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Technology has also developed Skype, a place you can talk with people on the computer with instant voice and video for hours. The new communication changes have changed drastically from the new advances made in technology through our smart phones, social networking sites, and Skype.
We are living in the 21st century, the technology is more advanced. If you stepping outside in the society, you will see that everyone is caring a smartphone around with them every day, so that they can check their social medias at anytime and anywhere. Nowadays, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Tumblr, Twitter, and other social media, dominates both online and offline communication of college students and adults.

The development of technology has led up to different ways of social interaction with one another. The launch of the computer was a huge impact in American history. It wasn’t only the computer that launched but also the Internet. Which brought different ways that people could interact with one another though Email and social networks (Lutfala). Some of the more popular social networks used are twitter and Facebook. People may become addicted to tweeting and posting up a tweet or status, this may become a priority to some people. These network accounts allow people to interact with friends and family from all over the world whenever they want with no cost, however people are so addicted to these social network they forget the way people are supposed to interact and that’s by talking in person. Online, children and teenagers can have hundreds of “friends” without having to leave their home or open their mouths. Although is may seem easier for people to send a quick text, email or instant message it destroys the meaning of being able to interact with our friends and family and actually get to see each other face to face.
Twitter lack monitoring so you can find and see some bad comments and some impolite words and this will affect our youth. lately it has become a rich land for rumours and exaggeration in conveying news. Also bad and impolite discussion may harm our young people. People who use twitter always insist on their opinion and don’t accept others and fifth to prove that their opinion is true, and they try to impose their ideas on others. Sometimes twitter may isolate young people away from their families and communities, and the youth all the time are away from families and communities participation.
One of the main reasons why social media has positively affected our society is because of how it has made communicating with people much easier. “Today, four out of five active internet users maintain at least one social media profile” (Moe, 3). Using these websites, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and etc., people talk about everything with anyone from what they are planning to do, also what they are eating and much more (Moe, 24). Also we can also send private messages to other users of these websites about personal m...

Previous generations used to be forced to engage in personal conversation or speak to individuals with the use of dial phones that were plugged into the wall of their home or office. Long distance calling was considered a luxury and caused additional fees to be added to a monthly home phone bill. Personal contact with individuals is vital to society, but other options have been created and promoted through by evolution of smartphone technology. There have been numerous methods of virtual contact that have created simplistic communication between individuals residing in separate areas on the globe. Text messaging and instant messaging have become a one of the primary means of indirect communication between individuals, due to its ease of access, leisured response time, relaxed flow of conversation, and ability to document important conversations. Social networking sites such as: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, MySpace, LinkedIn, Snapchat, Tumblr, Pinterest and YouTube have all become engraved in the foundation of smartphones as a primary means of communication between people. Posting thoughts, facts, quotes, opinions, videos and pictures have become second-nature to individuals in today’s technology-oriented society. With that said, there are endless benefits smartphones have on people’s social
