(2008, as cited in Mros, 2016), people choose a sport to be a getaway place for them because they are unsatisfying with some issues in their own lives. Therefore, this reason makes sports very famously and has created fans all over the world. As Xing (2008), said that sports fans can be classified and ranked on basis aspects and actions vividly consist their actions as an audience.
Therefore, sports fans can be differentiated into three groups according to their attitudes and behaviors, namely dedicated fans, bandwagon fans, and Gambling fans.
There are many sports fans around the world that are dedicated, passionate, and unwavering in their support of their favorite team. Those fans are called dedicated fans. Dedicated fans watch and pay attention to every game of their teams. Some of them try to go to as many games as they can to support their teams. For example, my former English teacher loves the New York Mets. He makes sure he watches every game regardless of the time. Another example is someone who may travel to watch their team. The Chicago Cubs are a baseball team, and the famous actor Bill Murray goes to as many games

Blood pressure rising and testosterone dropping are good symptoms (that is, to someone who is a sports enthusiast); nail biting, heart pounding, and barn burning games are bread and butter to sports enthusiasts such as me. Rivalry, unity, and relaxation help me bond with other individuals who share a common interest as I do. Within the article “Are Sports Fans Happier?”, author Sid Kirchheimer gives his bias reasoning over sports and its social, health, and psychological effects on sports enthusiasts, which elaborates and aligns concisely to why I passionately enjoy lacrosse and soccer. Fundamentally speaking, sports initially bequeath an array of positive benefits besides good health and mental stability; sports allow individuals to indulge
the wild antics of the die hard fans. In my essay I will try and attempt to describe as
Lets look into the psychology of being a sports fan shall we? A loyal fan likes to represent his/her team in the best possible way. Loyal fans cannot stay away from the game. They will support their respe...
It becomes readily evident that the greatest attainable certainty isn't winning or losing, but that research, however pardonable – perhaps commendable – makes us examine more accurately the nature of statistics. Staying disciplined in regards to your bankroll ensures the opportunity for success, for I can't say you'll be successful for having a proper bankroll, but I can say you will not be successful unless you stay disciplined and maintain a proper bankroll. All in all, it's okay to be a fan of the game, but if you want to make money, trade in your jersey for a calculator. And remember, casinos will gladly accept a fan's wager, so don't act like one and, more importantly, don't think like one.
In the United States, Football is one sport that most men love watching, may it be on television or live stadium (Chandler, 1988). For example, men are willing and able to sit down at home in front of the television for more than six hours just watching the football games and wouldn’t sit down doing any other thing for more than 15 minutes. The questions needed to be asked in the back of our minds are; by the men watching football games, what are the gains met and what the satisfactions are they get after watching them after hours, weeks and even months. What attracts them to devote most of their spare time to watching the football games? One obvious answer to this is the entertainment within the games as the men get something to entertain them apart from what they do in their boring daily routines. Taking another directional argument; rather than the amusement football games offer to the men, they offer some thi...
The importance of fans is vital because in addition to skill talent and hardwork, fans greatly affect how a team performs in their games. They affect the way a player plays because fans have a way of getting into their players heads and the opponent's head, even the referees are affected by the fans and we rarely notice the importance. In 2001 a Sports Ethics article “ The Ideal Fan” by Myles Dichter he explains the importance of fans and connection between fans
Everyone feels the need to belong. Some people find the answer to fulfill that need in sports. In the United States, the go-to sport is football. Following one’s hometown team or childhood NFL team through the regular season, playoffs, and hopefully, the Super Bowl has become a staple for today’s culture. Whether or not their favorite team makes it to the big Super Bowl game, they still find themselves cheering on one of the teams competing. T...
Sport fans, sometimes also called sport devotees, followers, or supporters, are persons who are enthusiastically devoted to a particular athlete, team or sport. They may show their enthusiasm by often attending sporting events or watch on television, being members of a fan club, follow sport news through newspapers, online websites, and creating fanzines. Their disposition is often such that they will experience a game or event by living through their favored players or teams. These behaviors manifest itself in different ways. To enable better understanding of these behavioral patterns, we have to classify these sports fans into groups based on their devotion to teams: fair-weather fans, bandwagon and the super-fans.
Known as the world’s most popular sport, professional soccer has helped create and define different groups of people around the world for longer than a century. The hoopla surrounding teams, geographic areas fans dwell in, and political ideals associated with individual clubs have carved an identity for millions of supporters whose heart and soul becomes dedicated to their favorite players, stadiums, and coaches. Soccer teams and their fans can give us a window into how people can be divided and defined by their allegiances and ideals, and why those with similar views band together to create a familiar environment for themselves.
Sports are an important aspect in society. They help people to strive to reach certain goals and join people together, but they also can divide people and turn a fun game into the main purpose of someone’s life. Taking sports games too seriously can be harmful for both the athlete and the spectator. The attitude of always winning at any cost in sports and has managed to distract us from other important parts of our lives, such as health and education. This importance of the value of sports can heavily influence the way that we see ourselves as both the spectator and the athlete by creating a positive self image and distilling confidence and discipline within the player, or by embedding self doubt and invertedness.
Fans are everywhere and while they continue to be a part of the community, they have created their own community. Enthusiasts have become something completely of their own creation. They are not just fans of a certain team or sport; they are FANatics. This is awesome, because as I stated before, without fans what would we do? The professional games wouldn't be aired on television and sports would not be such a big deal.
“Sports are for fun, but they also offer benefits and lessons that carry over into all aspects of life”. This well-known anonymous quotation conveys the message that sport is the game which has some rules and custom. It is not only for fun and entertainment, but there are also some benefits of playing sports and which gives some important lessons for life. Every kind of physical sports is healthy because it involves running, jumping, stretching, mind skills and much more. There are so many sports available in the world nowadays, but we can categorize them by the numbers of players, the three main categories are individual sport, dual sport and team sport.
The movie Invictus brings up several key points about the media in everyday life. The reason in which sports often unites people is that it gives people something in common with one another. No matter what race, age, or gender, people of all types enjoy watching and supporting sports teams which is why it is such a powerful means to unite people.
Finally, baseball fans are insanely loyal to the team of their choice. Should the home team's players lose eight in a row, their fans may begin to call them "bums." They may even suggest that the slumping cleanup hitter be sent to the minors or the manager fired. However, such reactions only hide their broken hearts. They still check the sports pages and tune in to get the score. Furthermore, this intense loyalty can make fans dangerous, for anyone who dares to say to a loyal fan that some other team has sharper fielding or a better attitude could risk permanent, physical harm.
