An essential part of the modern era is to be the best and own the best, a good start for this is to be living in the best environment possible. Livability is the factors that make up the quality of a particular place. This consists of economic, social and cultural and environmental factors.. I’m Dylan Eastland and I am urban planning officer for the Brisbane city council. I was asked to investigate Sandgate as a livable environment. Last month I was travelling around Sandgate and collected some necessary information for the investigation.
The environmental factors are definitely something to be drawn to for anyone looking for a livable environment. The suburb of Sandgate is built right along on the waterfront which is hard not to be drawn to. This environment is very tranquil and peaceful. There is a pavement alongside the beach for walking cycling and whatever else strikes your fancy. All along the bay are trees and shelters with barbecues and places for children to run and play. This particularly is a defining factor of this suburb’s environmental quality. There is plenty of greenery around and no lacking of native wildlife. The houses all have nice designs and are in good condition. Although there are some

A point where Sandgate is really tidy about is the crime rate. Although it has even been bettered from a recorded crime rate in 2010 was 3000, and this is taking into account, all crimes. This is a tiny amount for a large suburb. But unfortunately Sandgate suffers from one petty fault is that they are quite blasé about community identity. This lacking quality comes from swearing in public, inappropriate dress codes and public nuisance. With that said Sandgate is very tidy and all residents take good care of their surroundings. Sandgate also has a good amount of recreational facilities, such as, public swimming pool, golf club, sports fields and walking and bike

The question that needs to be asked is, should local councils protect the coast, or leave it to nature? And how does protection affect the people the environment and the future of Dawlish Warren? I will observe the laws, which have been enforced to ensure the nature of the reserve is protected and the ecological and economical value of Dawlish Warren is looked after. Fig A shows where my investigation is based Dawlish warren incorporates a fantastic amenity- a nature reserve that covers 204 hectares or 505 acres. It is essentially a mile-and a half length of sand spit, extending around the mouth of the River Exe and positively teeming with flora and fauna, so much that not only has it been designated local nature reserve since 1978 but it is also an international one as well.
The whole island is in the shape of a giant square with white sandy beaches full of people sunbathing, swimming and fishing right on the shoreline. From the end of the hot pavement parking lot to shore of the beach is an ocean of soft white sand. The pearlescent white sand seems to know how to invade every nook and cranny almost as if it enjoys it. Walking around the beach on the fluffy whiteness surrounding the parking lot, the seagulls are fighting over scraps of food on the ground. “Sandy beach ecosystems provide invaluable services to humankind. Their functions have been exploited through history, with significant anthropogenic effects (Lucrezi, 2015)”. This white sandy beach is a beautiful refuge from the mundane grind of everyday life. The smell of the misty ocean air mixed with the sound of seagulls hovering above and kids playing is a tonic for the mind. The feel of the sand between their toes and the waves crashing over them as people swim in the water, or the jerk of a fishing pole when someone is catching a fish makes Fred Howard Park one of the best places to relax. Standing on the beach looking out on the water, people are kayaking and windsurfing. The lifeguards watching vigilantly in their bright red shirt and shorts, blowing their whistles when they see someone being unsafe. After a long day of swimming and laying around visitors head back over the soft white sand to the showers, in order to rinse off the menacing sand that clings to everything like a bad habit. Everyone rushes over the hot pavement burning their feet to reach their cars so they can put away their beach paraphernalia which is still covered in the white sand, nearly impossible to completely leave behind, so when they get home it serves as a reminder of where they were that

cut back on the problems in the Bay. Scientists have given an unthinkable amount of attention to the Bay of the past several years and researchers from countless numbers of agencies and institutions have dove deep into the issues and studying every nook and cranny to create answers to every politicians’ questions. The biggest concern with the Bay, and the most concentrated ...
For many years now scientists and researchers have been paying their attention to the bay. Millions of dollars and hundreds of hours have been spent to return the bay to its glory. However, with all that has been done the bay is still in danger and the work is no where near complete. In 2005 the bay's health was evaluated at a “D”. (Chesapeake Bay Restoration)

With regards to the causes of the housing supply shortage in coastal areas, main contributors that lead to the issue are local finance structures, community resistance and environmental reviews.
The reasons behind urbanisation in Australia include the standard of living, job opportunities as well as education.
In conclusion, the Chesapeake Bay is the largest Estuary in the United States. It is diverse with many different plants and animals. The bay is made up of salinity, temperature, and circulation (“Chesapeake Bay Program”). The Alewife and the Atlantic Croaker are different, unique, and interesting fish with many interesting characteristics. Humans can have a great or terrible impact on the bay by forming groups to help protect the bay, and polluting the bay with agriculture, urban and suburban runoff, and air pollution from all the cars. The Chesapeake Bay has a very big area of information to learn about. That is what makes the Chesapeake Bay such a unique estuary.
The face of the American landscape has undergone a period of fantastic change in recent decades. With an expanding population and innumerable opportunities for economic and physical growth, urban centers and sprawling suburbs have pushed farther and farther into outlying areas causing pressures and development on previously untouched, natural lands. New Jersey has become, in many ways, the focus in dealing with issues of sprawl and development within its relatively small space. The most densely populated state in the nation, New Jersey often acts as a predecessor in both having and dealing with issues of environmental concern and/or damage. Within the past ten years, the issue of urban/suburban "sprawl" has become an issue of much concern among professional and private citizens alike. Characterized by unplanned and unchecked growth outward from urban core areas, sprawl becomes such a concern as it has reshaped the face of the American environmental landscape by fragmenting wild habitats, overutilizing existing water resources, and building mile after mile of "McMansion" homes on very large tracts of land. The construction of this suburban landscape does not, however, come without a cost to the surrounding environment. To build homes with large areas of fenced in property, open space and natural areas must be tapped utilized to feed the strong market. While some would say that it is not the market fueling the various associations of homebuilders but instead the reverse reaction, neither this, nor the other is of significant concern when attempting to address the physical impacts that this sprawling "suburban-side" has on natural habitats.
The damage of the Sydney June storms was devastating. Though such a powerful storm could not have been prevented, measures could have been taken to improve and minimise the impact and destruction of the storm cell. There are a number of ways in which citizens of coastal environments and suburbs could promote the sustainability of their area and the safety of their homes. Apart from the local council, coastal environments and suburbs would benefit from establishing groups of concerned residents to solely promote sustainability and prepare for damage. This group will help monitor erosion, ensure laws and rules are followed by residents and visitors and suggest ways in which coastal environments can be improved. Sufficient signage around
In the fraction of comic time humans have existed, humanity has burned a trail of destructive impact on Earth. Humans have reached a point where environment manipulation is become more of a want than a need, and due to this fact other species on earth suffer. In the past one-hundred years, humanity has caused the extinction of hundreds of other species on earth, and humanity might just add its own name to the list as environments are violently manipulated. These changes to the environment is seen in Chesapeake Bay, where human activity has place the bay and the species living there is grave danger, and there must be an effort to halt further harm.
The sun dried grass crunched under David’s feet as he reached the mailbox, sweat plastering his golden hair to his forehead. The rural landscape of Shark Bay is bone dry; the lingering heat wave serving as a slap in the face with the wind blowing what is left of his fields into whirlwinds of dirt. His was once a land of luscious green landscape, the soft air turned branches into wind chimes as the trees swayed. These same trees have been bleached by the heat ridden gusts carving tortured sculpture in their trunks. Some might now see this world as one of desolate wasteland but David grew up with the land, this land was a living, growing friend that he knew, loved, and cared for as much as he did his wife and children.
