Imagine the world was split into two groups. Half of the world are optimists and half are pessimists. Imagine the lifestyle, mood, conversation between each of these groups. I imagine the pessimist side of the world to be dark and gloomy, not a lot of positivity in everyday conversation. And then we look across to the optimistic world. Bright, cheerful and positive in every aspect. I don't know about you, but I would much rather be surrounded by conversation including amazing plans and ideas for the future, than the opposite. The dictionary states optimism as “Hopefulness and confidence about the future or success of something. The tendency to believe, expect or hope that things will turn out well.” Optimists have a tendency to see the glass as half full rather than half empty, they look at life for what they have, not what they have lost. He and other literature seekers pave the way for him to learn knowledge and the freedom of thinking which is against the law in this society. Montag falls in love with books so much that he tries to find someone who can teach him about the books and how important they are to life. The world would fall apart without knowledge no one would have a clue on what to do or how to eat since they don’t have that knowledge at hand. When one has a positive outlook in difficult circumstances, it is the most important predictor of resilience; how quickly people recover from adversity. People who are resilient tend to be more optimistic and positive compared to less-resilient people. But which has better consequences for one’s health? Assuming that it is moderated, pessimism is healthy for a person’s well-being. Pessimism is more realistic than optimism because it prepares people for an unpredictable and possibly negative life. Pessimism is also better for expectations compared to future surprises. Pessimists are either proven right or pleasantly surprised. Pessimism is a healthier mindset to have than optimism.

The impact and implications of technology tools on young children has been studied and researched through the Let’s Move Childcare initiative and results concluded that little to no “screen time” is preferred for children under the age of two.
