In Pigeon Forge you have nice hot summers and cold snowy winters. It also rains allot, which is nice since I enjoy rainy weather. During the winters, the mountains surrounding Pigeon Forge are capped with snow and in the spring the snow melts and creates beautiful streams which run down the mountain into rivers. These are some of the most beautiful attractions in Pigeon Forge and one of my favorite things to go see when we vacation there. " Every season in Pigeon Forge is a beautiful work of art that only a perfect God could create."

The city I chose was Las Vegas, NV that ranks 298 on the Building Resilient Regions website. The Spanish named this huge valley that was full of wild grass and minerals “The Meadows” that then translated into Las Vegas. Now, Las Vegas is very different among U.S cities for it is famous for the luxury casinos and the shows. It has the title of being the “Entertainment Capital of the World” and is very prosperous in cultivating a diversified economy. I chose this city because it is a city that truly never sleeps and always has some sort of resource going in or out. Another reason why I chose Las Vegas is because it is one of the strongest economic cities in the United States and certainly takes up a lot of resources to fuel this never stopping city. I was very interested in researching to see why Las Vegas wasn’t resilient and what could be improved.
Leaving Las Vegas, directed by Mike Figgis and based on the autobiographical novel by John O’Brien, is an emotional story about an alcoholic who rejects life and wants to drink himself to death in Las Vegas, and an unselfish prostitute who loves him the way he is. Ben, played by Nicholas Cage, was a former movie producer in Los Angeles and has obviously crumbled in the glamour world of Hollywood which is shown in the opening scene. Here Ben is already an alcoholic when he disturbs former colleagues that are embarrassed of his appearance at the restaurant. Ben is unstable and a mess when one of the men give him money and tell him not to contact him again. Ben then gets fired and ultimately decides to drink himself to death in Las Vegas, a city constructed on greed, crime and moral negligence. We are never certain of the cause of Ben’s alcoholism, especially when he says “I don’t remember if I started drinking because my wife left me, or my wife left me because I started drinking.” In a last attempt and hope of human interaction, Ben pays the hooker Sera, played by Elisabeth Shue, 500 dollars to spend a night with him. Sera is magically attracted to the loser type of man, as Figgis shows us with her boyfriend Yuri, her abusive pimp and boyfriend. This drama is about the absolute love between two people that live on society’s border who need each other to know that they exist.
In the past, some of my oldest memories in Manhattan are dealing with the weather. Up north they have four seasons; winter, spring, summer, and fall. One of the biggest differences between the north and south is the colder months. Personally, I don’t like the winter. Hence, why I now live in Miami. In the winter up north, the temperatures go down to freezing degrees. When there are blizzards you can’t do
I started to like living in Las Vegas, I was able to get a job right after graduation working at the McCarren Airport at Hudson News Group working as a sales associate, I didn’t have to stress too much about traffic or gas and if I wanted to I could move into my own place and offer it. With all those positive factors that still couldn’t keep me away from California.
Throughout Las Vegas history, Vegas have grown in tourism and residency to become more well known. From gambling clubs to casino and resorts, Las Vegas has grown to a little town to a big, bright city to the“Sin City”. If all the laws and mafias that collaborated with the casinos and gambling clubs did not happen back then, our community of Las Vegas would not be as popular as we are today.
So as you can see, Southern Nevada has something to offer everyone. Whether you are looking for the "big city lights" vacation, or just want to relax, and have a leisurely trip, you can find everything here. While you sit home, planning your next weekend excursion, remember that you can visit Laughlin for a cheap, tranquil casino experience, or you can book your glamorous, restless Las Vegas vacation. Although Laughlin and Las Vegas share many similarities, always remember there is a reason someone coined the phrase, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!"
Las Vegas also it is familiar as “Sin City,” is one of the most famous tourist place in the world. It is an incredible place in the middle of dessert, it is a city established from nothing to something great. Vegas has developed in tourism and population as well to become beyond universal. Las Vegas has ranked the fastest-growing state, according to the Las Vegas review journal, “Nevada ranked as the nation’s two fastest-growing states over the past year, according to U.S. Census Bureau population estimates for 2016 released Tuesday.” Las Vegas is known as a gambling city, nightclubs and casinos. Gambling plays a big role in many Nevadans Lifestyles. This is such a problem that should be considered. In this essay I will discuss about how gambling has a big effect on Nevadans lifestyle, plus how to avoid being addictive to gambling. In Las Vegas there are stereotypes of gambling, such as Lottery, slot machines, cards, and many others. But in this essay I will only discuss on slot machines.
...tion’s worst and stem from the fact that the state is host to a wide range of tourists who visit Las Vegas. The next time you visit Nevada for some gambling fortune, it won’t be a bad idea to take some security precautions too.
“Hotel California” by The Eagles has been the recipient of much speculation since its release in 1976. Although many other interpretations exist including some which claim this song to be referencing drugs, much evidence suggests that “Hotel California” is, at least partly, making a statement about the lifestyle of drug and alcohol users particularly in the large cities of California. As with many songs, duality of meaning exists in “Hotel California.”

...r – “By the end of the decade, there was a casino in-sight from every point in the city.” A record 15 million people visited Las Vegas in 1971, and an estimated 81% of those tourists gambled during their time in Vegas – an obvious effect of Hughes’ massive investments in casinos. By 1974, gaming revenue topped $1 billion, and just below 50% of Nevada’s state budget was supported by gaming taxes. Hughes was able to drastically increase the size and attraction of the city, making it more profitable, tourist friendly and glamorous. None of this would have been possible without the gaming industry to lure Hughes towards the city – once again gambling played a lead role in the growth of Las Vegas. The industry’s growth continued at a torrid pace, until the legalization of gambling in other states made the future of the city’s gaming industry murky.
