Over the last 50 years, scientists and researchers have made great strides in advancing technology which has had a great impact on humanity. These impacts varied from how people communicate with each other, expanding business application from local to global level, all the way to conducting warfare in the cyber realm, something that would have been a foreign concept 50 years ago. All this is was possible because of the creation of a small computer network that evolved to the Internet as it’s known today. Unfortunately, all this capability does not differentiate between good and evil and can be used for reputable and nefarious activates, all depended on the goals and motivations of the end users. Much like conventional mail, an e-mail is addressed to a specific recipient and it goes the recipient’s mailbox, where it stays until the recipient opens their mailbox or inbox. Instant messaging and Voice of Internet Protocol (VoIP) is another way people communicate in real time, in the same way as a telephone communication, allowing for one on one communication or group conference. Chatrooms and forums enable communications by providing a venue for people connect to special interests groups. In addition to audio and written communications, internet communications have introduced and enabled video communications. These different venues of communication, have not only changed the way people communicate among themselves, but also how people receive their news, how people work, how people shop, and how organizations conduct business. The first network ARPANET was a network with several computers that performed packet switching that was used to connect to each other by modems (Edwards and Bramante, 2009. p.29). Technological advances, network evolution, and type of communications have changed, but the basic building blocks of a network remain the same. A device to communicate from, a medium of communication, and a device to communicate with. The communication devices are no longer just a big and bulky computer in a University laboratory, they vary from personal computers, smartphones, ATM machines, to supercomputers, and any numerous other devices and new inventions introduced on regular basis. Regardless of the type, these communication devices require a way to enter a network, which are network interface cards, networks hubs, and modems. These are the devices that convert the data into a signal that can be transported over the network from one communication device to another (Edwards and Bramante, 2009). The medium of transmitting the signal can be wired or wireless. A wire communication depends on copper or fiber optic wires and the wireless communications using radio signals. The internet is comprised of numerous networks that control many aspects of everyday life spanning from the energy services to utilities, to telecommunications, transportation, finance, research,
