The aim of this paper is to show the importance of a happy leader in leadership of his team. A person‘s happiness can be attained when the goal is achieved. We can look around various examples in our life either big or small, when we fill with the pride of joy of achieving the mission. A leader may be a Business, political or spiritual leader definitely have some qualities and styles that act as personality traits and he become cheerful at one stage when the goal is achieved. Definitely it’s a matter of concern that what makes a leader blissful by its personal success or team work. This paper focuses on analyzing the points of joy in a leader’s life and eminence. Before we look into specifics, we’ll examine the history and development of “happiness” as a philosophy. Of course, the emotion of happiness has always existed, but it began to be seriously contemplated around 2,500 years ago by philosophers like Confucius, Buddha, Socrates and Aristotle. Shortly after Buddha taught his followers his Noble Eight Fold Path (which we will talk about later), Aristotle was teaching that happiness is “dependent on the individual” (Aristotle).
Ever since humanity created the idea of civilization, there has been an immense need for great leadership and it takes a remarkable person to be a leader adequate enough to handle all the nuances of leadership on such a grand scale. It requires a person so apt, that humanity has seldom seen any people virtuous and intelligent enough to rule over people so effectively as to create negligible problems. While numerous romanticize the position of a remarkable leader, it is a position that comes with copious downfalls and would, consequently, only be a life worth pursuing and living to a sparse few, seeing that, in the end, while those who lead nobly and intelligently may receive honor to the highest magnitude and a legacy that will last forever, the life of leadership doesn’t motivate a life of happiness. The life of leadership on a grand scale is defective in that a person in this position can no longer be themselves and live a life that is best for them, they are required to be what is best to gain and maintain their position.
Leadership is a quality which cannot be acquired by any person from the other but it can be acquired by self-determination of a person. Leadership can best be called the personality of the very highest ability-whether in ruling, thinking, imagining, innovation, warring, or religious influencing. Leadership is practiced not so much in words a it is in attitude and in actions. Their actions leave a long lasting memory in the line of history and lead up to may events that occur today. To be a leader one will need many qualities. Leaders have a purpose and strategies to accomplish that purpose. They are driven and motivated. In the end they should be able to attain good results. These innate talents help to make up a leader that will succeed and be efficient in carrying out tasks. But, the purpose of this paper is determine what truly makes a leader successful. A successful leader should be considered more on their impact rather than their accomplishments of their organizations alone for they are not sufficient in determining the key to their success .
Happiness seems to be one of those words that can only be defined in general terms, like love. It is easy to know when you are not happy, but determining happiness is a little harder. People often say that they feel happy or that something makes them happy. Greeting cards are filled with one-liners defining happiness saying things like,"Happiness is…" and then going on to compare it to a kiss from your child or a puppy dog. If achieving happiness was really that trite then no one would have much trouble achieving happiness. Happiness at work is really a more complexed recipe where many personal ingredients are needed to make it turn out as you hoped.
Emotions of a leader are so important in this aspect of leadership. It is through emotions that the leader will be categorized as ‘toxic’ or ‘not toxic.’ It is with no doubt that true leaders will appeal to emotions and as the same time know how to cope with their own emotions and how to perceive or control the emotions of a group. The major fundamental task of a leader is to inspire positive feelings in those he leads. In whichever situation followers always turn their attention to leaders, they expect his reaction towards that particular situation which will act as emotional guideline. The way a leader responds to a situation will give the followers a way of interpreting that event which in turn will make them react emotionally. If a leaders panics, gets annoyed or angry, these emotions will spread to the followers. On the contrary if he shows confidence and optimism to the same situation, his emotions will also be “infectious” (Maxwell, 2002).
Discovering what motivates this leader to lead is the belief that this she was sent to this earth to help others become autonomous and self-reliant; to help groups overcome their fears, to prepare the way for followers to embark upon their own progressive journey to help lead teams to authentic happiness. Obviously, happiness is quite hard to attain. There is no fairy godmother to wave a wand and grant us happiness. We must go out into the world and seek it out for ourselves. What most people fail to realize about happiness is that it is different for everyone. There is no formula for happiness, only a set of guidelines to help us on our way. We should follow the golden mean and strive for goodness, whatever that may be. In the end, it seems that if we try our best to be good and moral human beings, we might just stumble across happiness in the process. Hey, what can I say, love it or hate it, that is just the way life works.
Happiness is an inner state of well-being and fulfilment, and therefore it has to come from inside. Every individual has his or her own emotions and way of thinking and as a result of this no one can really say what happiness is and what happiness is not. However, universally, happiness is a by-product of a healthy attitude and viewpoint. Happiness exists in everyone whether they choose to acknowledge and believe it or not. It is not rare nor is it something only the elite have: everyone has it but not everyone recognizes it. Contentment is finding a light at the end of every dark tunnel and in order to experience this we must ignore the pessimism surrounding us and remind ourselves that happiness is not a materialistic object but a choice and frame of mind.
Having a great amount of fortune won’t keep you genuinely happy, you well be satisfied with your lifestyle but once you die , you can 't take that with you. Someone once told me that, “Happiness is a gift sent from heaven, a smile graced on a face and a laugh fixed with a beautiful melody. It’s beauty in a song that you 've never heard, but know all the words to.” It about doing a good deed to someone, staying simple but being the best person you can ever be, and being loved. Happiness is a sense and is a mixture of emotions, being glad and relaxed. On one hand, many people stay happy by having positive thinking and attitude. Small things and gestures bring enormous pleasure in their lives. Many people do not realize that there are things that they can do everyday to make themselves happy. Truly, happiness comes from within, not from without. Some ways that a person can lead a happy, satisfying life are by doing less, accepting what you have and helping other people. Our lives today have become so fast paced and stressful, that we are overlooking the simple pleasures in life. Happiness is a feeling that humans naturally desire. Without it, one feels incomplete. In this generation, happiness has taken on a definition by how we are presented to one another. It is measured by how much money we have, how famous we are, or the things we possess. When in reality, none of these things guarantee a happy life. Happiness is something that cannot be bought with money, but rather, it must be found, earned, sought after. Each and every one of us has our own list of things that we consider to make us happy. However, happiness shines brightest through the relationships we create, and the goals we make for ourselves to strive after. Along with these two essential sources, we then can mix and match those things in life that we enjoy to create our own unique formula for happiness.

But in this debate, one question still raises its head - What is happiness? Happiness is not actually leading a luxurious life, but the luxury of living a life. Happiness is not actually about expanding your business, but it lies in expanding the horizons of life. Happiness is not having a meal in the most famous restaurant, but having it with your most beloved family. It does not lie in attending honorable parties, but to attend a party with honor.
How could I promote happiness? Of course by beginning with myself. The saying, “10 percent is what happens to us and 90 percent is how we react with it” is one of my favorite. I may not be able to control what will happen to me, but surely, I always have the power over my emotions. In every circumstance, whether it may be good or bad, I must always keep those smiles plastered in my face. I must be thankful to God in whatever things happen for I know He’s always in control of everything.
Happiness is a feeling that cannot be broken if strong enough, no matter how much sadness or hate is around you.
