What defines a successful life? In other words, what are the measures of success and to what extend is college important to achieve success? Although most of mankind link a successful and a fulfilling life with money, success can be determined by other factors. These questions spark a controversial debate, creating factions in people’s minds. While one side of the debate is more vivid, people tend to deny it. Most people argue that in order to achieve a fulfilling life, the success must be structured on a basic foundation and element, that is education. College paves the way to students for a successful life not only on the workforce scale, but also on the personal, social, and economic level.

Researches in University of Southern California Center of Higher Education have proven that “Individuals who attend college save more money and have more assets including homes, cars, and investments” and that “college graduates earn more than twice as much as high school graduates” (Kezar, Adrianna, and Vikki Frank). This depicts a perfect example of a directly proportional relationship between colleges and the students’ economic lives; As individuals get more education and schooling, they also earn more money and salary. As a result, these individuals have more stable economic lives. Also, these students are less exposed to unemployment. College is a valuable experience because individuals who attend will have a lower chance of being unemployed, will be in better health, and paying off debts will be possible! Unemployment is on the rise, always trying to be avoided. By obtaining a degree, the chance of being out of work is reduced.
