At the crack of dawn I had to get ready for the interview with Ms. Bryant. Borrowing Cathy’s car to get to the interview otherwise I would have to catch the bus plus I had to find the place of which I had no inkling as to where it was. The job did not pay much but it was an open door for me and I took it something was better than nothing at all. Ms. Bryant met me at the door invited me in and asked all the usual questions in the interview process. She quickly let me know I was hired then asked for my resume and teaching certificate. She wanted me to start that Monday but I had an appointment to go to court with Cathy on that day as a witness. Hesitantly I explained I had to appear in court I could start the day after. Understanding she replied, alright I will see you Tuesday then. Pulling a copy of my resume and teaching certificate from my folder I give them to …show more content…
Holding the phone to my chest I yell downstairs for Allen to pick up the phone. When I was sure he was off the phone I went downstairs and asked him to go to the store and get some eggs for breakfast. Picking up the phone I called the police station to speak with Melvin the desk operator paged him to the phone. Melvin answered but became quiet when he heard me. Did you receive my message Melvin? What message is that he asked? The one about knowing you lied to me and sleeping around with other women while telling me you love me so much. Stay out there Melvin with your whores you have been sleeping with. Your kind of love I do not need nor do I want it. Really you should stop lying to yourself because I could tell by the way you responded to me and on the rare occasions when you did call it was in your voice. How quickly you turned your back on me when you heard about the situation with the student you called less and less. It hurt me and you have hurt me for the last time I want nothing more to do with you. Since you are too much of a coward
The first interview I scheduled was with the Assistant Village Manager, Ms. Jablonski. We had a phone conversation that made it seem like she did not have time for the conversation. She had my questions ahead of time and was able to prepare. She mentioned that she was busy and only had twenty-five minutes to talk and said she would not have any other time to speak to me. I felt rushed and pressured to pick the most important questions from my list.
I had just graduated high school and I wasn’t too interested in going to college. My plan was to enlist into the armed forces after high school, but I took things slow and decided I wanted to make a few bucks first. I had applied for Wal-Mart in late May and very much wanted the job. I called frequently to check on the status of my application and eventually they called me in for an interview. The interview itself took around three hours and I didn’t go home until about two in the morning. On June 10th, I got a call from Wal-Mart asking if there was any way possible I could go in the next day for training; I had been hired at Wal-Mart. Training was a fun experience with very fun and amazing people. I got paid 9.50 an hour, while I was in training as an overnight stocker; though my training took place in the day time. I thought that this was going to be and easy job. I have never been so wrong in my life.
For less than two hours, I observed the grandson of a visitor at my aunt’s home.
Kidwatching shows many different things when it comes to collecting data on how a student or student’s learn over a period of time. When doing kidwatching observations, it is important to monitor everything that could have an influence on a student’s performance. Different things such as resources, environments, interactions, etc. are a few things that can affect a student when it comes to learning. Being able to kidwatch at Killian Elementary, I’ve been able to collect a great deal of data when it comes to seeing a student as a scientist. This opportunity has allowed me to look at teaching science many different ways that can show how much students are interested and how much he/she understands.
During this assignment, I needed to observe infant/toddler from birth to 36 months. The observation was for 30 minutes while the infants interact with the world. While the observation, I created a running record observation to keep track of the developmental domains. The observation took place in the ECE classroom. There were three children which were Charlotte, Loui, and Benjamin. They were placed in the center of the class where there was different kinds of toys. During the observation, Charlotte and Loui were interacting with one another. However, Benjamin wasn’t interacting at all. Loui interacted with classmates and went outside the circle to get some toys.
I had applied for a job at Catholic Guardian society; in 2001 I did get the job. It was working with young girls in a group home, place there by the court. A group home is a place that children are sent to, once in foster care. A child can be in a group homes for many reasons; such as running away from home, not going to school and getting being arrested. I work every shift that was allowed, sometime doing doubles. When I started the job, I learn my way around fast. My partner was Michelle S.; she was great she began working there three years before me. Our primary job was to ensure the safety of these girls; their age would range from twelve through twenty-one. Our supervisor was great or so I thought. I soon realized that she was a horrible
Keep in mind, I was completely aware that it is not legal to require me to complete an exit interview or threaten withholding pay. This is just another attempt of her using whatever means necessary to get things to go her way. Still, I participated to prove once and for all that I am the bigger person in this situation, and so that I could finally cut ties with this oppressive
Observation is very important in young children because that is how you get to know a child better. While observing how a child interacts with their peers, adults, and how they behave in different settings, you are getting to know the child without speaking to them.
In this assignment I am going to describe a child observation that I have done in a nursery for twenty minutes in a play setting. I will explain the strengths and weaknesses of naturalistic observation through the key developmental milestones based in Mary Sheridan (2005) check-list and provide a theoretical explanation to support the naturalistic observation.
There once was a man named Franswah, and he had a wife named Keisha. They both lived in Keithville, Atlanta. They had a little girl named Jasmine, she was twelve years of age and she attended Ghettoville Jr. High School in the seventh grade. Keisha never did like doing anything, so her husband Franswah decided to go out and have an affair with a lady named Shay. Franswah and Shay worked at a law firm together. Shay was his assistant, she always helped him with things and they always went to lunch together. So some nights he never came home or either he came in late. Keisha was never the type of person to just argue, she mainly just questioned him to see what the response would be and she left it alone until the next morning. So one night when he came in he had a funny odor and Keisha asked him what was up with the smell, he told her that he had been working out and got sweaty. Their daughter Jasmine had very high blood pressure, so most of the time she didn’t go to school because of her condition and she stayed ill. Keisha had a younger sister named Ashley, she is the rowdy type that doesn’t care and will tell anybody anything. Keisha was telling her sister about Franswah coming in late, having a odor on him and don’t want to be questioned. So one day when Ashley was over there and he walked in she confronted him and told him if she find out that’s its that he’s cheating on her she was gone handle it. So he got mad and started hollering at Keisha for telling her sister about what was going on in their relationship. Then that’s when Ashley came back and told him that she can tell her anything she want to tell her because that’s her sister. So few minutes later the phone rings and its was Shay. Keisha answers the phone and it was another lady’s voice, and she asked to speak to Franswah. So she asked her who is calling and she told her that it was Franswah’s baby mother. Everyone is in shock, so Ashley gets on the phone and started getting rowdy. Ashley was asking her different questions like how old is the baby, where she live, and where did Franswah and her meet.
“Help me Aaron” he said. At the time I refused, however I now think to myself, maybe I had made the wrong decision. Lying in bed, I hear a loud bang on the door and a voice from the other side demands “Open up Sherritt, we know you're in there. It’s the Victorian police.” Without hesitation, the door is barged down and
The child I observed was born on February 21st, so the baby that I observed is just weeks old. The baby is white and a male. The baby is a friend’s child and I observed him in the living room of their home and in his personal bedroom while he was in his crib. There was two couches in the living room, a television, two end tables, and a big sectional rug which was where the child was most of the time. There was 4 adults. The mom, the dad, my mom, and I. There were no other children in the house at this time.
... made the story go in my favor when I should have called earlier to tell them that I would arrive late because of what happened. Instead, I waited for them to call me on my way up. All of the effort I had put into the past three months at work are now diminished by my one ignorant action of not calling and lying when I arrived. I could have simplified the situation by just calling in when I knew I would be late and come clean up front, instead, I blew the whole situation out of proportion and tried to make myself seem like a victim. I have lost the trust of my peers and superiors that were involved.
The two children that I have interacted with this week at the Early Childhood Education Center from the Willows group is Emily and Harriet. I got a chance to interact with these two girls this week. They are both so much fun to play with and be around. With Harriet, we played in the dirt box and played with the musical instruments. We also played with her stuffed little gray and white cat and a toy tiger. With Emily, we played doctor and played in the kitchen area. Together Emily and I played nurse and doctor to make her little baby feel better and got to play dress up with it. We also played some in the kitchen to make food for the baby as well. From what I have learned from Harriet and Emily is that they have two different personalities.
First, I asked her to explain her educational background. She has an Undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice. Next, I asked her if she had a graduate degree. She explained that she has a Master’s degree in Forensic Psychology. Later, I asked her if she could explain why she decided to get a degree in Forensic Psychology. She explained that she really enjoyed learning more about the mind and being able to apply that knowledge to Forensics. Then, I asked her what is the name of her current position. She told me that she is currently a senior agent for parole and probation. I asked her how long as she held the current position. She mentioned that she has been holding that position for 4 years. I then asked her to explain her responsibilities and duties as a senior agent for parole and probation. She told me that her duties include effective community supervision of offenders placed on probation/parole this supervision process includes office and field contacts, court appearances, treatment referrals, drug testings, warrant and processing services, financial collection management, interviewing, counseling and investigation when required. Next, I asked her what is her what does she like the most about her job. She let me know that the thing that she likes most is the aspect of Public Safety. In addition, I asked what she dislikes about her job. She explained that one thing she dislikes is that as a probation agent, she is not
