Recommended: Why biomimicry is important

Biomimetics Need the People Many people sit around wondering what they’re doing with their lives, while other believe they’ve done nothing with their lives, but now there’s a way to benefit society by telling others how nature interacts with you. By having people join in the search, Biomimetics will flourish. Sharks are known for their ability to kill and their teeth, but what people don’t pay much attention to, is their skin. A shark’s skin has, “sleek scales that resemble tiny teeth and are made of a tough material called dentin” (Lewis, Tanya. “Biomimetics: 7 clever technologies inspired by nature.” Live Science. A Gecko’s foot contains, “dense clumps of projections” (Lewis, Tanya. “Biomimetics: 7 clever technologies inspired by nature.” Live Science. Purch. 22 Apr. 2013. Web). This allows the lizard to latch onto surfaces with no problem since the spatula like hairs dig into whatever surface they’re climbing. Such technology that gets “even stronger with use” (Lewis, Tanya. “Biomimetics: 7 clever technologies inspired by nature.” Live Science. Purch. 22 Apr. 2013. Web) can be used on climbing equipment to aid them and make climbing slightly easier. Generally 143 people a year get hurt while rock climbing, but if the Gecko’s method is used, it would greatly affect climbers and reduce their casualties …show more content…

When people think of Neural Networks the first thing that comes to mind is our brain, while the second is computers. Think about if that only for a 100mm2 and a human foot that’s roughly 10000 mm2 that’s hundred times the force per foot that a gecko foot, so you would be producing 4000N per foot (Robert Full 2000).
