Air ports should have more security because of drugs, illegals, and terrorist. Airport security systems had a drastic change since the 9/11 incident. Due to the airports lack of security terrorist over took the planes and crashed them into the twin towers. Another huge part of why they need to improve airport security is drugs. More drugs are brought threw planes due to the over secure borders along the U.S. Also it is the same for illegal immigrants that want to come to America. They take planes because the lack of airport security and there is no wall or border patrol. With all these reasons there are a lot of things that need to be changed in airports across of America. And not just the major airports all airports because there are so many
It is one of the scariest moments because it was a wakeup call to America. The fact is 9/11 happened due to lack of airport security at airports. “The terrorist went through 3 check points in the airport and where let threw onto the plane. 4 planes where take over, 2 crashed into the twin towers, one into the pentagon, and the final landed in a field” (bush). All of those innocent civilians could have been saved had the security been secure. There was a lot of chances to change the things that would have kept thousands of people alive. The total death toll was 2,977 that many people should have lived. Only if the people at the airport had been doing there job to secure the airport. 9/11 is a sad day in America but it is an even sadder day at the airports across the U.S. To know if security in one building could save thousands of lives. This building changed America and the thoughts of Americans everywhere, everywhere a person of Middle Eastern descent they are looked at like terrorist. They have become the outcast of American society. They are carped and looked at like they are all part of the plot to destroy America when they are just trying to be part of American society. But there is a huge separation in the way America sees the Middle Eastern people because the acts of one group that hates America. It is a unfair way that they were stereotyped all as terrorist but that was all on the actions of Osama bin
America already knew there was a terrorist who hatted America and tried to blow up the twin towers in 1993. We had all this knowledge, and we did nothing within seven years to secure airports. Yet the American government took his threats and blew them off like they were nothing. Also you cannot just blame Osman bin laden for the 9/11 attacks. America is to blame because of their intervention with the Middle East. The Middle East blames America for the separation of the Muslim people. The group al Qaeda just wants to unite all Muslim people and form one perfect nation. So the al Qaeda made it clear of what their intentions would be if America did not step out of the war in the Middle East, which they would use any means of force to make them stop. The American government chose to be ignorant and did not heed the warnings of the al Qaeda, and the cause was the terrorist attack known around the world as 9/11. 9/11 could have been avoided if a lot of things had not occurred and had been changed. Like if America had never joined the war in the Middle East over a resource like oil. That’s the whole reason that America had joined the war was because of the oil that the people in the Middle East
What caused the intelligence failure of 9/11 and how can this be corrected in the future? On September 11, 2001, America changed forever. At 8:46 a.m. American Airlines Flight 11’ crashed into the North Tower World Trade Center Tower in New York.
Before the attacks on September 11th, Americans were under the assumption that an individual or group of individuals could not do such a devastating thing to humanity. Prior to 9/11 there was a lack of security in airports and on airplanes. “In 2001, airline security was minimal and was the responsibility of the airline. Passengers were asked a few questions by ticket agents before they passed through checkpoints with metal detectors that were calibrated to sound an alarm for anything larger than a small caliber handgun. If an alarm did sound, security at the checkpoint would...
September 11, 2001 was a day that Americans and the world for that matter will not soon forget. When two planes went into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and two others went into the Pentagon and a small town in Pennsylvania, the world was rocked. Everyone in the United States felt very vulnerable and unsafe from attacks that might follow. As a result, confidence in the CIA, FBI, and the airlines were shaken. People were scared to fly after what had happened.
9/11 was a horrific incident. There are no words that can possibly describe how deeply it affected the America that my generation has come to know. This atrocity hurt the economy and made us into an intolerant country; however, this same atrocity also opened our nations eyes. It showed us how vulnerable we were, and as a result our countries security, and the concern for safety of its citizens has grown. While it is important to recognize how terrible 9/11 was, its also important to recognize how much it has helped our great nation. 9/11 and events like it are important. They show us how to better our country and though painful, these events necessary into growing our country.
On September 11, 2001 New York came upon a terrorist attack. The terrorist hijacked four airplanes the morning of the attack. The attack was part of the Al-Qaeda Islamist group, led by Osama Bin Laden. Two planes collided into the World Trade Center; one hit the Pentagon, and the other one crashed in Pennsylvania never reaching its destination. The cause of 9/11 is that Islam saw the United States as a heinous country with different and awful morals so they decided to attack. The consequences were the tensions between Americans and Muslims rose. Numerous hate crimes were committed and there was a massive economic downfall. We could have avoided this incident if the airport security would have been more strict, then the attack would have a less chance of happening (Bantista). “Make no mistake, the United States will hunt down and punish those responsible for these cowardly acts. Freedom itself was attacked this morning by a faceless coward. And freedom will be defended.” –President Bush directly after the 9/11 attacks (Tsimelkas). The government issued extreme changes in the military system and the surveillance ...
The day of 9/11 is a day that will be in the back of everybodys minds for lifetime. On that sorrowful day four passenger airplanes were highjacked and ultimately crashed. Two of the airplanes crashed into each of the Twin Towers located in New York City. After the buildings burned for around 20 minutes they fell to the ground bringing along millions of tons of debris that killed many workers from both towers. One of the other airplanes crashed into the Pentagon also killing many innocent people. The last airplane crashed in a field in Pennsylvania after many believe that the passengers over powered the highjackers. Many people still morn the deaths of the victims from 9/11. From the second the planes crashed, people have tried to make money from this ordeal, making it one of the most advertised and talked about issue the US has ever seen.
“What time should we leave? Two hours in advance? Three? Four?” Millions of people ask these questions each year before boarding a plane. Between driving, security, walking to the gate, and getting settled, boarding a plane exhausts travelers. But out of all of these different activities, one frustrates and restrains travelers the most: TSA security. People ask why they need all this security, complain about the inconvenience it causes, and ultimately annoys people to no end. Created after 9/11, Transportation Security Administration, or TSA, nationalized airport security, increased screening duration, and supposedly increases security on flights. However, statistics say these added security measures never come to fruition and potentially cost more lives than they save.
September 11, 2001 is known as the worst terrorist attack in United States history. On a clear Tuesday morning, there were four planes that were hijacked and flown into multiple buildings by a terrorist group named al Qaeda. This group, led by Osama bin Laden, killed nearly 3,000 people. Out of those 3,000 people more than 400 police and 343 firefighters were killed along with 10,000 people who were treated for severe injuries. Many lives were taken, and to this day, people still suffer from the attack. September 11th is the most influential event of the early twenty-first century because it made an increase in patriotism, it caused a rise in security throughout the nation, and it had a tremendous effect of thousands of lives.
"Problems" in the airline industry have not risen due to too much competition within the industry. To the contrary, Washington regulators should turn the industry loose in any more ways that it can. Lowering restrictions to enter the market place, emphasizing private ownership of aviation matters, and encouraging open and free competition within the scope of anti-trust law should be the goals of the Clinton Administration. Instead of heading towards re-regulation, Washington should get out of the airline business for good.
To many 9/11 is considered “the biggest tragedy in U.S. history”, however for one who doesn’t know of or understand the events that had occurred on this day the opinion on it being “the biggest tragedy in U.S. history” is unclear. In order to clarify what happened, one must ask, what were the events that occurred on September 11, 2001? It’s true that America had been targeted for a terrorist attack but more specifically, it was targeted for three attacks. The three attacks took place at the Pentagon, the World Trade Center and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. According to the article “9/11 Attacks” the timeline of events began in the morning of September 11 when nineteen people hijacked four commercial airliners that were heading towards California. The hijackers took over the planes and began route towards the north-east side of the country. At the time, what was happening on the four planes were unknown to everyone except its passengers and flight crew. It’s stated that “Soon after takeoff, the terrorists commandeered the four planes and took the controls, transforming ordinary commuter jets into guided missiles.” On each plane it is inferenced that there were some people stabbed and many people as...
On September 11, 2001 terrorists crashed two American airline airplanes into Twin Towers, killing thousands of people. It was the worst terrorist attack in American history and it showed us that we are not protected by Atlantic and Pacific. It showed us that we could be attacked by anyone at anytime. It showed us that if we will be attacked again that we can only depend on each other and not on other nations to help us. The 9/11 changed people forever, some lost family members or friends, others lost their jobs even so called “American Dream.”
After the events of 09/11/2001 the Department of Homeland security was founded and within the department fell a new agency known as the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). The TSA was instructed to secure all modes of transportation and they committee was instructed that they wanted to see result soon. Additionally the Aviation and Transportation Security Act required the screening of passengers, cargo and luggage for explosives as the primary priority. Even though the TSA is charged with the transportation security the primary focus has been Airport security. Long lines, arriving two hours early to your flight are all after effects of improved security. Are these security measures worth the waits and inconvenient or should things go back to the way they were prior to 9/11. The true question is what is worth your piece of mind when your family and friends are flying to see you, domestically and international?
The country’s recently heightened airport security measures have become a source of controversy and debate across the Nation. Due to a recent attempted act of terrorism, where a man on an international flight to Detroit attempted to blow up the plane using a bomb, the department of homeland security has taken new measures to ensure national security in the form of new high- tech full-body scans and pat down procedures in airports. The new body scanning machines create images of people without their clothing, and the new pat down procedure is generally considered too personal. Many people feel that the new airport security screening is an invasion of privacy. A recent poll by Zogby International claims that 61% of Americans oppose the new security measures (Martin, Los Angeles Times).
The main threats to the industry over the next five years are the rise in price of oil, legislation, the TSA, and labor costs. Each of these threats effect the scheduled air transportation industry not only endangers Delta Airlines but the entire industry. As the price of labor increases for ground operations and pilots this creates a burden on the industry by causing them to spend more to satisfy their labor requirements. The price of fuel increasing leads to the price of fuel to increase, which not only affects a single airline but every airline. With each time that the crude oil price rises the prices associated with the costs of refining the jet fuel as well as transporting it. These costs are distributed to each airline as they use this resource to transport passengers. As new politicians are elected to Congress and new administrators take charge of the FAA new regulations regarding this industry. These regulations affect everything from mergers to the airspace that the airlines operate in as well as what hubs and airports each airline operates out of. These factors are not issues that the industry faces, the TSA, the Transportation Security Administration, creates an unnecessary burden for the passengers attempting to travel from one location to another. The TSA inspections required before a passenger is allowed to board their respective flights allows time for each passenger to become frustrated with the amount of time they have to allot for inspection as well as the invasion of their privacy.
Aviation security plays a vital role in the aviation industry, from protecting passengers, staff and aircraft. The aviation industry, more specifically airports and aircraft, make prime targets for malicious harm, crime, and other threats because of the vast amount of people that use air transportation. Although there are many risks that are posed to the aviation industry, we can only hope to have learned from the history of airport bombings, hijackings, and sabotage terrorist attacks. The aviation industry faces threats at each step of the journey, but assessing the risks properly will help deter and mitigate these threats. Conducting risk analysis in today’s aviation security is not only important to the aviation industry, but it is important
