The 20th century was impacted by many documents, inventions, and people from the late 18th and mid 19th centuries. Without these materials, the 20th century wouldn’t have been shaped the way it was and possibly the world wouldn’t have been how it is today. Inventions although had the most impact on the 20th century like the telegraph, the sewing machine, cotton gin, and other important inventions. Not many people know what invention really impacted our society which was the Electric Motor. The Electric Motor was invented by a blacksmith named Thomas Davenport in 1834. An Electric Motor is used mechanical energy which comes from electrical energy. It is used in almost anything computers, electric cars, ACs. The Electric Motor had the largest impact on society during the 20th century because it lead to many important inventions such as telephones, electric cars, and even founded electricity. The Electric Motor in a phone is a vibrator. “The Vibration motor is a compact size coreless used to inform the users of receiving the signal by vibrating, no sound.” Although it's the vibration motor it’s also used for sound. Before the 1920's Americans use to walk and ride their horses for transportation. But when Henry Ford came along, he invented the first car that would drastically change American lives. This car was so popular that 4 out 5 of Americans owned a car. Many Americans also bought it because it was affordable to the rich and poor. It was named car of the century by critics. The Model T improved peoples lives because it united families, improved working conditions, improved social lives between couples, and it was used in many different ways.
This time period also saw many new inventions that would change American society forever. Such things as the telephone, radio, and television are things that the average present day American could not imagine living without. But a hundred years ago people were amazed at such things. Railroads were now able to bring people all over the country while steam ships could bring you all around the world and airplanes could let you fly. The horseless carriage turned into the automobile.

In this year Henry Ford created the first affordable, combustion engine car called the Model-T. The creation of the Model-T changed the lives of every American. Vehicles were looked at as a way of freedom and excitement. Soon after, every household in America had a car. The demand for vehicles sparked a whole new industry, creating jobs, more revenues and improving the American economy in every way. We had new inventions like the automobile, flights, and mass broadcasting.The automobile before was seen or known as a luxury items and only those who could afford them owned them, but by the 1920’s vehicles were being mass-produced and were commonly seen. Alfred Sloan who was the president of general motors created began devoting more time to automotive styling. His technical advances of the decade included four wheel brakes, automatic engine temperature control, schock absorbers, automatic choking, and adjustable rides; all of which improved the ride and comfort of the car (Rose,216).
