In the Chapter 6 reading I found the short story “The House On Mango Street” by Sandra Cisneros, to be the most interesting. I identified with Cisneros’ story because when I was very young my family moved several times, and didn’t have much money. Furthermore, I identified with both the biography of Cisneros and the short story because Cisneros and the young girl in the story had large families. The fact that the short story portrayed a large family hit home to me because I am the oldest of 6. Lastly, the way Cisneros wrote the story, from the viewpoint of the young girl, also made me feel extremely sympathetic for her. I related to the young girl especially when she said, “The way she said it made me feel like nothing. There. I lived there,”
