She groaned as the sharp pain rose to the side of her head. The hockey ball had hit pretty hard as she slowly felt a slight blankness in her mind. From afar, she noticed people staring with worried faces, making her more embarrassed than she already was; a flush of red glowing on her cheeks. Her friends had called her name out but a sudden low tone nearly made her jolt.
“Are you okay?” The person who was now in front of her asked. It was kind of obvious but she assured them that she was perfectly fine anyway. There was a sense of sympathy in his voice as he made sure that she was actually okay. As other girls gathered, the guy ran off and she could only imagine that he was trying to attempt a hit and run. “Here,” he was about to put it where the ball had struck when he realized his careless mistake and quickly pulled back to put it to her hands instead.
She sat for a moment as he apologized for the umpteenth time before heading back to the field. Every once in a while, he would glance back and if wasn’t for the fact that she was in pain, she would’ve mentioned how bright and calming his smile was.; especially with the afternoon sun gleaming behind him.
It was time to head back and she wondered about the towel that was still in her possession. When she walked closer to their rest area, he took the words right out of her mouth. “Don’t worry about the towel. You should be using it till you get home.” The girl bids farewell and as her friends directed, her mother brought her to the clinic. (after panicking like crazy)
The doctor told her that everything seemed fine and announced that if she fainted or threw up, she should head to the hospital right way as if it weren’t crystal clear enough. “By the way, who’s towel did you borrow?” Her mom asks during the car ride back home.
