Bobby, One of most profitable and strong industries in the United States is the Sports industry because it ranges from College Sports for both men and women, Professional sports ranging from professional hockey (NHL), professional basketball (NBA), professional baseball (MLB), professional football (NFL), and many others. This is personally one of my favorite industries and one that I have quite a few experiences as a consumer. Overall the majority of the industries are making more money than they ever have but this is mostly contributed to the distribution of video rights of their services through various media streams. The increased accessibility makes it so convenient to watch the game of your choice of pretty much wherever you desire makes it less desirable to attend the actual game in my opinion. I will say nothing replaces being at a live sporting event, but watching from the convenience of my phone, IPAD, or TV is also not a bad experience either. You mention the cost associated with the sporting event itself and that is one factor in this equation. Another factor to consider is the additional costs associated with being at the game whether its concession cost which in almost professional sports or sports in general is way overpriced, to the price of traveling to a where the game is played which could include gas, and hotel expenses. When you consider all of that it costs a lot of money to go to live sporting event and certainly a lot more than it does to simply watch from your home or a restaurant like you mentioned. Some of other affects that result in the demand being lower for professional sports include the lack of a quality product in some cases, competition within a market such as multiple teams or sports within a market, and overall reduction of interest in
