R&B music has reshaped how we see music. This kind of music generates a lot of soul from the artist. You can almost hear every emotion in their tone of voice. The words they choose inspire you to create your very own image of the song. “Losin’ Control” – Russ, is a perfect example of generating soul and emotion and has certainly been a fan favorite for the past few months.
Getting to know the background of a song initially might help you understand and depict more from the song. Russ wrote this song for his very first girlfriend at the age of 18. He was a very neglectful boyfriend who cheated on her and kept trying to push her away. She was in love with him, but because of how he treated her, she can’t trust and love another man. Russ is truly sorry about this stating, “I’m tryna to

empathize that I understand why she’s fighting her feelings.” This song is worth listening to because of how much soul Russ puts into every lyric.
You can feel his pain in each word. “All she ever got was broken hearted”, a lyric in the third verse of the song, shows sympathy he feels towards his ex-girlfriend. Sympathy is one step closer to gaining back that trust he once had with her. Russ now understands he messed up and wants to earn back her trust in which now he truly values.
One of the greatest things people value on this world is trust. If you don’t trust somebody, odds are you aren’t inviting them to watch the Cub’s game with you that weekend. Our society is built on trust and “Losin’ Control” emphasizes the pain he feels for losing her trust. Trust is a quality that some gives upon another to show they’re important in your life, Russ killed that and you hear it throughout the song.
Another aspect “Losin’ Control” portrays is pain. Not of Russ, but his ex-girlfriend. Pain is an easy word to describe and everyone has their very own meaning and personal example of it. Its definition is made from your personal experiences and Russ’s pain is knowing that he still puts his ex-girlfriend through pain. They are both in a way losing
control. All these aspects depict our everyday lives. Everyday we show sympathy, trust, and pain. It’s something you cannot prevent because it occurs naturally without you even noticing sometimes. People, in my mind, who can portray that through song are a part of the most talented people alive. Russ is a true inspiration. Sympathy, trust, and pain are the three main reasons what makes this song so enjoyable to listen to. Hearing emotions run wild on broken trust. Listening to Russ trying to express his sympathy and a soothing gentle voice. Pain being felt on both sides of the song. What makes music so great to listen to is the aspects the artist puts into it. Music is what defines you. Whether you’re an artist or just an everyday listener, music portrays yourself. A little bit of you is inside each song you listen to. That’s what makes music so enjoyable for me. “Losin’ Control” by Russ is one of my favorite songs on the album because it shows the most emotion and it really connected to me. Music is what we breathe for, what we live for.
In the song “Somebody I Used To Know” is about a guy who is heartbroken that his former lover is gone and out of his life. The lyrics “Make out like it never happened and that we are nothing” (metaphor) means that Gotye is still trying to get with Kimba and she denies everything they did together. If you really read through the lyrics you can connect on how he feels and how Kimba feels. One more lyric that really hit me was “Have your friends collect your records and then change your number”(figurative language) those lyrics mean that she wants nothing to do with Gotye but, he is trying to get her love back but she changed her number .
CONTEXT: Careless Whisper is a song about a man who cheats on his girlfriend, who find out he cheated from his best friend. The man is thankful she found out that way because it would have been difficult and more embarrassing if he had to tell her. He then sinks back into a feeling of self pity and realizes he is alone, sad, and single. It is important to note he does not ask for forgiveness or defend his actions but own up to them.
...to help create a better image and to help viewers or readers really feel what the speaker feels. Lines one, five, eighteen, and twenty-nine to thirty-one clearly state a type of figurative language. In line one, Hunter Hayes uses hyperbole to over exaggerate the fact that without the person he is addressing this song to, he would emotionally fall apart. In line five, the speaker compares a caring person to factors that keep nature happy. Line five uses indirect characterization to show that this girl Hunter Hayes is addressing , has a good heart, not just a beautiful appearance. Lines twenty- nine to thirty-one use a metaphor to compare fairy tales to their everlasting love for each other. “Wanted” by Hunter Hayes and Troy Verges uses figurative language to address the point to someone special that she will always be loved, wanted, and appreciated.
In The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Nick’s unreliability as a narrator is blatantly evident, as his view of Gatsby’s actions seems to arbitrarily shift between disapproval and approval. Nick is an unreliable and hypocritical narrator who disputes his own background information and subjectively depicts Gatsby as a benevolent and charismatic host while ignoring his flaws and immorality from illegal activities. He refuses to seriously contemplate Gatsby’s negative attributes because of their strong mutual friendship and he is blinded by an unrealized faith in Gatsby. Furthermore, his multitude of discrepancies damage his ethos appeal and contribute to his lack of dependability.
Have you ever been in a relationship where the roots ran so deep that you could feel the relationship you and your significant other grew being cut down in your heart when it was finally over? Well, Russ Vitale writes about his past relationship with his ex girlfriend in the song "Losing Control" which explains how his ex is afraid to love again due to the way Russ treated her. Russ produced his first song at the age of 18, and new her wanted to be a rapper so he dropped out of college. Al his songs are self-made, meaning he produces the song, he writes the song, creates the beat for the song, and engineers the song. He started by producing music on Soundcloud and paved his way to fame. However, the fame may be too much for him to handle because the fame was the reason he drifted away from his ex girlfriend. Through figurative language, Russ addresses to his ex how she must allow herself to love again, creating a tone of remorse. His song is significant and powerful because it highlights how love and destruction are two sides of the same coin.
In the first verse, writer Johnathan Cain is telling a story about being on the tour bus late at night thinking about his wife. He is feeling very lonely and is forced to send his love ‘along the wire’ or through a phone call, while he lays in bed alone. Another thing he says is “lovin’ a music man ain’t always what it’s supposed to be.” This makes sense because you would think being married to someone famous would be quite glamorous; however, it is actually super difficult with the busy lifestyle they live. Only hardships in the relationships are referred to until the first refrain, which provides the initial spark of hope that they are going to make the long distance work. Next, is the second verse which is much lighter and over gives off a happier tone. Cain refers to things that make him smile while on tour, even though he misses his wife. Although he still mentions that it is difficult, he says that it is their time apart from each other that makes their time together even more special. The words say, “two strangers learn to fall in love again, I get the joy of rediscovering you.” This shows that he is now looking at the situation more positively leading into the next refrain. The bridge also gives off a more encouraging vibe which leads to the end with the refrain again only talking about how they will be together forever. This leaves the song on a blissful thought, which
This song talks a lot about the baggage of the past that people hold onto instead of letting it go. All that baggage is only going to end up hurting you more and more instead of helping you in any way possible. An example is the opening
The first two lines in her song say, “You ain’t nothing but a hound dog, Been snoopin’ ‘round my door.” This line is comparing a dog to a man in a relationship, more specifically a hound dog. A hound dog is known for its unique skill of chasing and hunting down its prey. Going right into the song, she is referring to the man as a dog chasing its prey and cannot be controlled. When she says the second part of this line, she is referring to the man trying to be discrete while cheating on her. The last line of the first verse states, “You can wag your tail, but I ain’t gonna feed you no more.” This is an example of another metaphor of man and a dog because dogs become extremely clingy when it is time to feed them.
The first verse of the song depicts an argument between a man and a woman. The woman is angry at the man because he is drunk on her doorstep, apparently as he had been many times before. The argument progresses until she slams the door in his face sending him away with harsh words, calling him a "disgrace." As this scene breaks, the people around watch and "drool" at the chance to gossip about the man and woman whose problems make them feel more comfortable and content with their own lives. In desperation, anger, and remorse, the man calls to his love. He does not seem to understand how they have come to this point when the love that they had once seemed so wonderful. Calling her "mad," he does not understand how she could throw away and give up on the love they had. The man cannot see how his drunkenness destroyed their love. He cries at her door and "his tears fall and burn the garden green." The garden green symbolizes the thriving, beautiful love they once had for each other, the love that has been destroyed by his drinking problem. The garden being burned by his tears symbolizes the final end to their love as the man cries outside her door, never to experience the wonderful love he had with this woman again. In the recurring line, "castles made of sand fall int...
This song is about taking it easy, just like the title says. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. The lyrics, “Don’t even try to understand. Just find a place to make your stand and take it easy.” This is a message for Holden because he needs to take a step back and not let other people get into his
The man feels abandoned in a corner and he drinks for the sadness he feels. While drinking, he tells himself I do not understand why you left me, if I know she loved me, so if you ever regret your decision he will be waiting for you. Basically, the man feels broken emotionally because the women he loved, left him for no reason. This song to me is not a dancing song, however the song is more about remembering your ex-wife, ex-girlfriend or ex husband and ex-boyfriend. For me personally, this song reminds me of drinking, the title literally means bitter shots of liquor. The way the song shares the hurt the man feels by the women that left him. I could almost picture a man sitting at a bar drinking to his ex saying, “I’m drinking because of you, you caused this”. I could picture that scene in my head because I have seen my friends in Mexico and my cousins in Mexico do
The song is written from the perspective of a person that has experienced and overcome bullying. This person is explaining to anybody who is currently experiencing bullying that it is fleeting and one day the victim wont even think about the bullying. The song begins with the comparison of crowded hallways and the lonely feeling that the bullied person experiences. Hayes talks about how kids stereotype and judge other kids, casting them out of their social circles if they have quirks. They don’t even try to get to know the kid before they give them the label of weird. Once one kid labels a person as strange then all of the other kids isolate the strange kid. The next part of the song, the chorus, is Hayes saying that he knows exactly what these ostracized kids are going through. He talks about how hard it is to be the one that is ignored and sometimes you wish that the kids would even give you negative attention because at least they notice you and you aren’t alone in the world. He goes on to say that it doesn’t matter what those kids think about you or what they do because, in the long run, that tiny part of a person’s life is insignificant. The bullied person will grow up and move on from the judgmental school kids. “One day you’ll look back on all these days and all this pain is gonna be invisible”. The third verse is all about being strong and not allowing the bully to make
To start off, this phrase has the most meaning because it sums up the entirety of this powerful song in just one short sentence. The main meaning of this song is centered on the fact that every single person goes through life making many mistakes and regretting past decisions. Of course, it is okay to be occasionally frustrated with these mishaps, but at the same time, one cannot let these negative ordeals consume
Russ's song starts off with the chorus with him explaining to his ex that it is ok to love again. "she's falling in love," yet "losing control" because she, Russ's ex, is afraid to love again and possibly het hurt9line 1).She is "fighting the truth" and hiding her love for her boyfriend because she is scared that he too
In this song the theme is “in the end they’re both a little messed up in the relationship.” This is because throughout the song Nick claims that the girl he is talking about, has said and done things like, “told your Mama and your brother you won’t compromise” and “you’re not the first to try and diagnose what’s wrong with me.” In these sentences it shows that she is mad at him and wants him to try and fix whatever is wrong with him. The last sentence of the chorus is “it’s unhinged, it’s just like me” then the very last verse of the song is “you’re unhinged, you’re just like me.” By these two lines it shows that yes, he has problems and has messed up but it also shows that she has messed up to, and that he’s not the only one to be blamed.
