Recommended: Oh solitude
The glow radiating from my phone was the only source of light on the empty street. I could feel my breath hitch as I continued walking. Darkness didn't scare me as much as the thought of being alone.
Exhaling, I sped up, aiming for the single street light that was still some distance away. My eye glanced down to my phone, noting that it was a little after ten. "Shit," I breathed. In hindsight, it hadn't been my best idea to stay so long at the library. Especially when that meant I had to walk back to the dorms alone.
A loud boom echoed all around me, almost giving me a heart attack. A swift glimpse at the sky was enough to tell me rain was in my immediate future. "Dammit, and I'm not even halfway back yet."
While I wasn't keen to leave

The fluorescent ceiling light humming softly as it swung. My choice in seating must have seemed funny to the gator as he let out a soft chuckle.
"Kid I ain't gonna bite you." The gator's low voice rumbled, "That is unless you want me to." He burst into laughter, filling the entire room.
Feigning a smile, I tried my best not to look him in the eyes. This was awkward enough without the innuendo thanks.
Seeing that Rowen was still occupied with his uproarious laughter, I took a moment to assess the situation. Some gator was waiting in the middle of the street, and without even introducing himself invited me, a stranger to his apartment. This sounded like the plot of a bad fan fiction.
A shudder ran through me as a cockroach scrambled across my foot, forcing me to recoil and bolt to my feet.
"Sorry bout the mess, shoulda said somethin'." Not even looking in my direction, the gator extended his hand and grabbed a cigar, promptly lighting it up and slouching back in the chair. "So, ya said yer in college or somethin'? Whadayastudy?"
"Paranormal Studies..." I spat out, burrowing my face in my palms.
"Eh? Ghosts and whatnot?" Another chuckle slipped from his maw. "They really will teach kids anything these

All at once my nose was assaulted with Rowen's scent, a mixture of cigars and strangely lavender. Whatever it was, it was amazing and I found myself intoxicated. I buried my nose into his gut and up towards his armpits, loving every second of it.
Rowen didn't seem to mind my eagerness, I even heard a soft moan escape his muzzle when I flicked my tongue along his armpit. Meanwhile, his hands made their way down my back, reaching for the end of my grey, Yoshi shirt and slipped it out over my head. I went right back to his chest, running my paws down his belly. This wasn't what I expected but I wasn't about to complain now.
Normally, I'd be very insecure about being shirtless in front of a complete stranger, but I felt a sense of safety around him. It was hard to describe but I found I didn't regret anything.
This continued for a while, I intoxicated with his scent and him sort of grunting along with my actions. It was obvious that my mind was clouded, but right now that was the last thing I was worried
I groaned loudly. I had piles of homework to catch up on, an entire book to read for English by the end of this week, and a math test to study for. On top of all of that, my head was pounding and it felt like it was on
...rned my head toward his, tucked my long brown hair behind my ear, took my face with both of his hands and told me that everything would be okay. Ben pulled my face to his a gently kissed my forehead and then pulled my head to his chest, which was warm, and strong.
It was eerie quiet not just the usual flowing silence. The worn path was no longer in front of me and the signs littering the trees were all missing. I reach down for my phone out of instinct when I’m nervous so I can call for hell but all that’s there is a small rock.
“Not if you don’t know it isn’t real, it isn’t yuk.” Orson sighed but continued. “The funny thing to this day is…my brothers didn’t care once they found out it was me.”
breeze had found its way into the stadium. TJ took his helmet off and stood there, letting the wind comb through his dark hair. The fresh Utah air filled his lungs. He could smell the grass, the popcorn, the hot dogs. Listening to the roar of the crowd, TJ grinned. There's no day like game day. He thought.
Halfway up it was beginning to look doubtful, the wind was picking up and everyone was getting out rain gear to prepare for the storm. I voiced my doubts to Phil and he said we might as well keep going until the lighting got too close. So we did. The thunder grew in volume and the echoes magnified the noise to a dull roar sometimes. Then suddenly it began to ebb. The wind died down and lightening came less frequently. I exchanged relieved looks with Phil after a bit, but kept the pace up--I didn’t want to take chances. Eventually it hit us, but by then it was nothing more then a heavy rain. We kept moving, if slower, and made it over the ridge with no other problems. That night I enjoyed the meal a little more and slept a little deeper realizing how much is important that easily goes unnoticed until something threatens to take it away.
“Now was that entirely necessary? You almost upset my work.” He gestured to the bubbling cauldron in front of him.
The rain started to fall and it was like I could hear every single drop as it fell.
We continued down the infinitely long interstate towards our destination. Thunder clouds continued to rumble in, like an ocean tide rolling closer and closer to the beach front. Within minutes the entire landscape was calm and dark. It looked like a total eclipse of the sun, and the once ...
“Well, I’m more sad than anything,” she replied. “I’m going to miss all of the freshman that we taught how to play.”
As I often did while walking alone at night, I got sucked into some sort of reverie, losing myself in the balmy summer air that had chilled considerably after the sun went down. I had lost myself, as many have lost so many things in the twilight hours, but being found again was the last thing I wanted. An escape is what I so desperately longed for and looked for that night, and I think I found it.
I’ve been sitting in that position for the last hour but it’s only felt like 5 minutes. He hold my hand so tight that it warmed my sweating palm and sent the heat back into my body like a water flow. I stared into the blur behind him trying not to look at his perfectly shaped face. With no glasses and and tired eyes, his sparkling smile was the only image
