I think that Arnold believes that he broke Thomas’s heart during that fateful night when Arnold accidently killed Thomas’s parents. I personally don’t believe that Thomas sees himself as being “broken,” but in the eyes of Arnold he
Characters are always changing, in speech, thoughts, actions, and looks, overall changing themselves in a variety of ways. In the story, Code Talker, by Joseph Bruchac, the protagonist, Kii Yazhi(Ned Begay) changes mentally and physically through the story in many different ways from the beginning to the end. His mindset and opinions on many important things in his life change majorly as he develops himself as a person. Piaget believed that a child’s development is neither intrinsic (learning based on interest) or extrinsic (learning from an outside force, such as a parent). He believed that a child develops based on his or hers interactions in the environment (Mooney 2000). Piaget created four stages of cognitive development, some of which can be seen in the film “Cheaper by the Dozen”. A few examples of characters that display Piaget’s theory are the twins, who are in the preoperational stage and lack the concept of conservatism, and the mastermind, who is in the concrete operational stage and show's the concept of decentralism. These characters will have Piaget’s theory applied to them in the following paragraphs.
First, he looked at the drawn maps of the maze and it didn't take him long to figure out how to solve the maze and how to do it. “We need wax paper and scissors”(from chapter 15) is what Thomas said to his friends, as if he didn't want to loose this sudden train of thought . Another example of Thomas's unknown intellect was when he intentionally threw himself into a griever to go threw the changing to get some of his memorise to see if he would remember anything that would be helpful for him and his friends. This all proves that Thomas knew what he was doing and how to do
Now Thomas from The Maze Runner has to keep moving he doesn’t look back he has to keep on moving forward (or backwards, wherever the maze takes him). Besides Chuck (which was probably his best friend at the time) he left them for

In conclusion Thomas is portrayed as a heroic, caring and compassionate character. Thomas proves he is heroic when he risked his life to save both Minho and Alby. He also proves to be caring when it comes to his young friend, Chuck, by acting as a brotherly figure. Minho is portrayed as a brave and intelligent character throughout the novel. Minho can be seen as intelligent when he deceived the entire council of Gladers into agreeing to make Thomas a runner. He is also perceived as a brave character when he ran toward the cluster of grievers, risking his life so he can figure out where their camp is.
He puts together all men from the wise, the old and the wild by stating that they all will eventually face death, and when that time comes he urges them to fight “rage” for longer life, rather than just accepting death. His portrayal differs from Dickenson’s as he presents death by using metaphors and imagery. (Napierkowski p49-60) He describes death as being “that good night” and the use of that metaphor causes death to become something unknown. Thomas suggests that death is like night time, it’s dark and unfamiliar. Thomas is presenting death as something that should be feared and something that we should fight against. His message in the poem is about how precious the gift of life is and he uses imagery with the phrases “old age should burn and rave at close of day. “(752) and “wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight.” (752) Thomas uses those poetic devices to convey anger and how powerless someone feels when being confronted by death. When Thomas reveals his father’s curse at the end of the poem you get a sense of passion that he feels for life and how he desperately wanted to send this powerful emotion to his
urgent plea from Thomas to his dying father, and all men not to give in
