Falling in love is a mysterious, wonderful, and deeply spiritual experience. It is finding the other half of one’s self and feeling complete for the first time in one’s life. The experience of falling in love has inspired countless stories, plays, and songs. It is the deepest desire of a human to be in love with another person, and to have that love requited. Falling in love creates intense, spiritual feelings between two people. Often, these feelings can be so strong that they consume a person with their intensity. These feelings, as wonderful as they can be, cannot be maintained at that intensity for the duration of a life-long relationship. Although these deep feelings can and should resurface from time to time, being in a constant state of intense love would drain a person over time and prevent that person from finding self-fulfillment, self-satisfaction, and, ultimately, true happiness.
