Many movies require the use of drones. Film producers are able to take stunning scenery images for signifactly cheaper prices on a drone than sending someone in a helicopter. Since drones are also able to fly lower to the ground than a helicopter, they are able to capture images otherwise unobtainable. Companies like National Geogrpahic thrive off of drones because of the breath-taking photos they are able to capture while also being able to monitor wildlife populations and problems within their environment. But large companies are not the only people can use drones for entertainment. Civilians are able to buy and fly their own drone as long as it meets certain requirements. People use these drones for racing, accessorizing and recreational
photography. This is where the issue of privacy occurs. The clear pictures that makes drones so desirable can also be used to invade people’s personal space. A drone flying closish to the ground can easily take pictures of a car’s licenses plate number, look through a house’s window or scary as it may sound, follow a person from one location to another like areil stalking. There are very few guidelines set in place that regulate what people with drones can and cannot do. Of course, there will be people that choose to disobey these laws and can use this freedom malicisoly.
When we think about the drones we always associate them with dirty works where humans don’t have to get their hands dirty. But in reality we can also use drones at many other places. For example, we can use delivery drones to deliver stuff. Drones that are used for commercial purposes are called the commercial drones. Commercial drones are the same as drones, but they are smaller in the size.
In the article ‘’Confessions of a Drone Warrior’’, published in the GQ in October 22, 2013, by Matthew Power, the author talks about a drone pilot’s experience after working with military drones for 6 years. In this article, the main point the author is trying to prove is that flying military drones is not some kind of video game, it’s as real as it gets, even though the pilot doesn’t actually take part in combat. It can change people. During his service, the Airman First Class Brandon Bryant killed 1626 people. It’s terrifying, considering that the pilot had to watch every person die. His job was to monitor people(normally high-value targets in Afghanistan) from the sky and when he got the command to kill from the authorities, he fired a missile

It is evident that Western Cultural values are diffused worldwide through the movie industry. The films are controlled by western funding and reflect Western perspectives vividly. Between the lines in the scripts, filmgoers are urged to link the Western culture and “whiteness” with positive-hence legitimate-values and accept whites dominant position. Film is a powerful medium, thus movies were created with emotional designs on the individual audience in order to control his or her mind hence Hollywood serve as the functional means for establishing the concept of white supremacy. Hollywood movies are therefore the main instruments for establishing the whit supremacy mind-set that automatically triggers the message that whites are far superior than any other race. Ideological hegemony theorizes the way in which relationships of domination and exploitation are embedded in the dominant ideas of society. To the extent that dominant ideas are internalized, they induce consent to these relationships on the part of the dominated and exploited. Blood Diamond and In the Heat of the Night are two distinct movies where the movie makers present us with two different ideological concepts, Both films portrayed the white and non white consciousness. Blood Diamond they attacked their own race as In the Heat of the Night the whites attacked the non whites . Blood Diamond showed this in a more violent way then In the Heat of the Night did. The conscious of both films were power and authority. The blacks in each of these films are seen as secondary characters which is usually a way of promoting the supremacy of whites . The movie Blood Diamond discusses the complexity of conflicts with bringing western group intt Sierra Leone. This concept also trie...
One of the integral things that must be addressed when making a film is the ethics involved. Ethics are a constant issue that have to be carefully considered when filmmaking. This difficult decision-making is highly prevalent in that of documentaries, because of the difficulties associated in filming ‘real people’ or “social actors, (Nichols, 2001).” More importantly, the issues faced by a filmmaker differ between each of the documentary modes. Each particular documentary mode poses different formal choices that must be made in order to operate in an ethical fashion. Two films that have been made both display examples of how ethics must be considered when embarking on a documentary are Etre at Avoir [To Be and to Have], (2001) and Capturing the Friedmans (2003). These films have been made in different documentary modes, highlighting that there is not one mode which is easier or has fewer ethical issues associated with it. Additionally, what must be considered is how these style choices in these different modes affect the power relationships between the filmmaker, the subject and its audience, (Nichols, 2001).
The Role of Computer Generated Imagery in the Film Industry Computer Generated Imagery is the special effects used in motion pictures to create a visual depiction of an illusion that can not be easily created in real life. Directors of major motion pictures have been using these technologies since the early days of the personal computer. Early on, when and special effects were in their beginning stages, it was difficult to make efficient and effective effects that are well accepted by the movie critics and the general public. An evolution of special effects and the introduction of computerized animation brought the standards for movie effects to a higher level. The development of new methods of Computer Generated Imagery for less money and more effective than in the past has allowed even fairly low budget movies to incorporate such technology.
Drones are the Future One of the latest and most controversial topics that has risen over the past five to ten years is whether or not drones should be used as a means of war, surveillance, and delivery systems. Common misconceptions usually lead to people’s opposition to the use of drones which is the reason it is important for people to know the facts about how and why they are used. Wartime capabilities will provide for fewer casualties and more effective strikes. New delivery and surveillance systems in Africa, the United Air Emirates and the United States will cut costs and increase efficiency across the board. Rules and regulations on drones may be difficult to enforce, but will not be impossible to achieve.
Another name for drones are Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVS). These are “aircraft either controlled by ‘pilots’ from the ground or increasingly, autonomously following a pre-programmed mission” (Cole 4). Even though there are many unique types of drones, but they usually fall under two main categories: ones that are armed and equipped with missiles and bombs and others that are used for surveillance. In the past couple of years the use of drones has increased dramatically. The reason being because “unlike manned aircraft they can stay aloft for many hours and are flown remotely so there is no danger to the flight crew” (Cole 13). There are drones that can actually fly over more than fifty hours. In countries such as Afghanistan and Iraq, the Predator and U.S Reaper are physically there. Cause of the power of technology th...
In the United States, people worried that drones would be used near their home because they are equipped with a camera and that makes people feel restless or uncomfortable when a drone is nearby. A lot of people don’t realize that drones flying around neighbors are not much, but if we take privacy into account then that’s certainly a problem. They build their own drones purely for entertainment. They used them to make a video or compete in a sport called drone racing.
I believe your work in the film industry has made a huge impact. Not one movie series even compares to Star Wars. It captivates everyone and leaves them sitting there at the end of the movie wishing for more. The force actually does grow inside each Star Wars fan. I will say I never expected to become such a huge fan, but I am so glad your movies have drawn me in like it has to so many others.
The film industry is constantly evolving with new technologies that can either assist the creative industries or hinder them. There are both positive and negative views as to whether the film industries future looks good. The positive effects of new distribution methods called Cinema cloud is one reason the film industry needs to stay current and on top of technology in the future, to be able to adapt to new processes. Streaming services such as Netflix are becoming increasingly popular, changing the way movies and television shows are viewed also creating original shows that fall exclusively to Netflix allowing audiences to be drawn into subscribing thus increasing profitability.
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man. True nobility is being superior to your former self.” A line from 2015 film Kingsman: The Secret Service, directed and written by Matthew Vaughn, director of 2011 superhero movie X-Men First Class, is a humorous take on spy movies alike. The R-13 movie revolves around a rookie street kid that is recruited into a secret organization just as a new threat becomes prominent. As per any film there is, it has its highlights that creates tension that viewers are sure to like and its lowlights that makes one wish to just skip it until the movie ends.
Drones or Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVS) are controlled via two ways which are by pilots from ground or by a self directed pre-programmed mission. Cole and Wright (2010) identify that having various types, drones basically meant to serves the following two purposes:
