There has been a lot of controversy over the years about the ethical and moral issues of Struggling Girl. Most people find this photo hard to justify philosophically because of the controversy around it. However, after close examination of the six different philosophies one of the ideas can be justified. Out of all of the six different philosophies learned in class, Struggling Girl can be best justified using Mill’s idea of Utilitarianism.
Referring to the lecture, Mill’s Utilitarianism states that when deciding what to do, one should consider the greatest good for greatest number.
