A cell phone, also referred to as a cellular phone, transmits electromagnetic radiation into the air. This occurs, when your cell phone has to connect to a phone, you want to have a conversation with, by checking for networks
Electromagnetic radiation, which is often abbreviated as EMR, is a form of energy which when travels through space, displays a wave like behaviour. Electromagnetic radiation has electric and also magnetic field components. Electric fields are generated by electrically charged particles. Magnetic field is an area of this force which is produced by moving electric chargers.
There are two types of electromagnetic radiation, ionizing radiation and non- ionizing radiation. Ionizing radiation is a type of radiation, which has enough electromagnetic energy to knock- out electrons from the atoms in the tissue and change the arrangement of the molecular structure. The two types of ionising radiation is gamma rays, which is smaller than the nucleus of an atom and x-rays, which are a bit bigger than gamma rays. Two types of frequencies that are considered non-ionising are radio frequency energy and microwave radiation.
Then, there is the electromagnetic spectrum which is the different frequencies of the electromagnetic radiation, which ranges from extremely low frequency radiation to gamma rays. Frequencies are the number of times a wave moves upwards and downwards per second. Down below is an electromagnetic spectrum, which explains the different types of radiation.

The report contains information on electromagnetic radiation spectrum, and that waves get transmitted in any direction, effects of electromagnetic radiation absorption, why particular frequencies, wavelengths, and power outputs are used, etc. The report contains most of the information from Achievement criteria and a few from Merit criteria.
My view is to be against the danger of using cell phones because cell phones do give off heat, which increases body temperature. Heat which comes from the screen of cell phones can cause blindness and can strain the eyes due to the fact that eyes do not have the function of disposing excess heat. Cell phone radiation heats the body, so, this can cause some kind of effect such as dehydration because heating causes sweating and excess water loss does cause dehydration.
The higher the energy level in an energy source, the lower the wavelength of the energy produced, and the higher the frequency. Differences in wave energy characteristics are used to classify electromagnetic energy.
We must first understand what radiation is. Radiation is when excess energy is released. This process happens when unstable atoms become stable. This happens to radioactive materials. There are three common types of radiation emissions. They are alpha particles, beta particles, and Gamma rays. Alpha particles can be dangerous if they are inhaled or ingested. They can also enter your body through a cut, but it cannot bypass human skin. Beta particles can be very dangerous to your health if they are ingested, inhaled, or if it enters through a cut. It is important to know that it can at times enter through your skin, unlike alpha particles. In most cases, it is best to have a thicker layer covering your skin so that you’re positive it does not go through your skin. The most severe type of radiation emission is through Gamma rays. Like the other two, it can cause severe damage if it i...
We depend on electromagnetic energy every moment of our lives, from watching tv to microwaving our food, without it our world would not be the same. Electromagnetic energy travels in waves, and has a very large range from long radio waves to very short gamma rays called the electromagnetic spectrum. The electromagnetic spectrum is the distribution of electromagnetic radiation according to energy, frequency or wavelength. From radio waves to gamma rays there are 7 types of lights most not visible to the naked eye in the electromagnetic spectrum which covers a wide range of wavelengths and photon energies. Different objects and living thing detect different proportions of the spectrum, the human eye can only detect visible light, radios can detect a different portion of the spectrum, and an x-ray machine uses another portion. To study the universe NASA's uses a scientific instruments which can detect the full range of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Electromagnetic spectrum is a list of the most possible range of electromagnetic radiation around us. their many different electromagnetic radiation in the world. for example we got radio radiation, sun 's radiation , microwaves radiation, etc. many of ths radiation have different level of wavelength, energy, frequency, and also different classes. the way the electromagnetic spectrum works is by wavelength. the bigger the wave length the smaller power it have. the small wavelength is the most power it have. for example a radio tower, it haves a wavelength of the size of a football field. that wave meter is 105 and it frequency is 104. this is one of the longest wavelength in the electromagnetic. in the other hand Gamma Ray is one of the shortest wavelength in the electromagnetic but it hav...
Cell phones use radio frequencies to transmit signals. Radio Frequencies (RF) are a form of electrical waves similar to those used in radios, microwaves, radars or satellite stations. They are emitted from a transmitter, and received using an antenna. This telephony technology is restricted geographically to small zones called “Cells”. Every cell has a base station capable of sending and receiving radio waves. When a call is started a signal leaves the handheld unit headed to the closest base station. This station answers by allocating a specific channel to the unit. When this “channel” is established, modulated radio frequency signals are both received and transmitted. The head of the user is in the near field of use because the distance from the antenna to the head is a few centimeters. (Blettner & Berg 2000) If the antenna is inside the body of the phone, the exposure to Radio Frequencies is greater. The antenna might be requesting a stronger signal to contest with the interference of the battery or the actual shell of the phone’s body.

"How dangerous could a cell phone actually be?" That is one of the many questions a person will ask themselves throughout their lifetime. Cell phones cause many distractions to humans throughout the day. Many cell phone owners find themselves checking their phones for messages and notifications even when the phone did not vibrate or ring. The overuse of cell phones will have negative effects on the mental and physical health of its users, will cause driving distractions, and will have a negative impact on the communication skills of humans.
In an electromagnetic wave, the constantly changing electric and magnetic fields affect each other so they both oscillate in different axis while the wave moves in a direction perpendicular to the oscillation of the fields as shown in Figure 1.
Electromagnetic energy can be explained by treating the spread of energy over a range of wavelengths. The radiation can be measured by finding the energy falling per second that is Watts per square meter for each band of 1 micrometer wavelength.
Brain tumors and eye cancer are two health concerns of cell phones that are currently under investigation. Many people have heard rumors about whether or not cell phones are responsible for these health problems, but answers never seem to be found.
Cell phones have many advantages and disadvantages to them and I only named a few, but overall I think that the benefits of the cell phones outweigh that of the disadvantages that they bring. Cell phones have become a staple in the way we live our lives and without them it would be almost impossible to live the wireless lifestyle we are using right now. Cell phones are getting more and more technologically advanced as the years pass by, and that is why cell phones are needed in the society we live in
Dangers of cell phones to the health and safety on any one individual can be supported not only in opinion but fact as well. Opinions and research vary greatly on the negative aspects of cell phone usage, although most would choose benefits over that negative. While most consumers may appreciate the convenience and mobility of cell phones, the human body will not.
...om cell phones, and its dangers, so we are told to be extra careful of cell phones and how we use them. If you are being affected in some way and you need help, it is recommend that you go and get your treatment immediately.Cellphones does have its good side and its bad side as well, since there are no convincing reports that cell phones cannot be dangerous. This shows that are cell phones dangerous or not, both are still incomplete, researchers may be able to convince the public by 2015.
First of all, using mobile phone has the negative effect of affecting the health. The scientific data are exploring the relationship between radiation from mobile phones and brain disease. "Research carried out by scientists in Finland suggests radiation from mobile phones causes changes in the brain. It is the first time that scientists have looked at the effects of mobile phone radiation on human cells rather than those of rats"(BBC NEWS, 19 Jun 02 | Health, "Fresh fears over mobile phones"). From above we must understand that research did find a higher incidence of brain tumors on the same side as phone usage.
Electromagnetic radiation is energy that flows through free space. Electromagnetic radiation comes in a list of energies known as the electromagnetic spectrum. Electromagnetic spectrum is the complete range of the different wavelength of electromagnetic radiation. It consists of light, radio waves, visible light, infrared waves, ultraviolet light, x-rays, microwaves and gamma rays.
