Interactions that take place on planet Earth are an ever-changing effect of the Earth’s role in the universe. Interactions stem from many factors, including the Earth’s position in relation to the sun, the axis of the Earth, and that of forces on Earth itself, such as gravity and position. One major interaction that affects everyone and everything on the planet is time. Throughout history, people have experimented with timekeeping in efforts to develop the best system. Through countless trials, the system we use today was developed. In it, time zones were established corresponding to different locations on the Earth. Scientists discovered that different times of year, when the Earth’s position is in different relations to the sun, the weather in the area can be affected, causing seasons. Although spanning worldwide and originating under different circumstances, latitude, longitude, time zones, and seasons are all interrelated through interactions between the Sun and the Earth.
A season is defined as a period of the year that is characterized by changes in weather and daylight, resulting from the interaction of the Earth’s yearly orbit around the sun and the tilt of the Earth’s axis (Khavrus & Shelevytsky, 2012). The Earth completes one revolution around the sun every 365 days, or 1 year as most people refer to. During this revolution, different areas of the Earth are pointed toward the sun, creating different seasons (see figure 1). This results in “changes in the amount of solar radiation an area receives” which affects the climate of weather of different regions on the Earth (Biggs, 2003, p. 484). Throughout the day we are constantly checking the time, preparing for the upcoming months, and keeping track of the year. Clocks tell us the time we use as a measurement. It’s how we keep track of those important months and events, such as holidays and birthdays. Although there are many investigations and research being done on the nature of time, many unresolved issues remain.

Ever since the dawn of civilization we have observed time by its natural occurrence and we also relied on man made primitive tools to measure time. In the beginning, time has always been a natural event, for example, sunrise to sunset but men’s earlier primitive tools to measure time were inaccurate and were only an approximate indicator, hence often unreliable such as the hour glass.

Climate change is evidenced through shifts in the weather patterns such as winds, humidity and temperatures over certain durations. Natural climate changes occur less frequently and they are triggered by factors related geographical aspects as well as solar radiation. The earth’s movement on the orbit triggers changes in climate causing some areas to have higher temperatures than usual while others are significantly cold depending on the position of the earth on the orbit. The heat form the sun causes changes on the stratospheric ozone and it increases the amount of greenhouse gases. Heat from the oceanic crust also contributes to warming as a result of episodic hydrothermal venting (Liao & Sandeberg, 2012). Volcanic activity also causes a release of certain elements that may block the sun and also contribute to increase greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.
The world as we know it is, it is changing in all aspects like rapid advancement in technology and science factors which make the world climate to change. Climate change thus means the variation of global weather conditions. Climate change is the seasonal changes for a long period of time in the world. These climate patterns play an important role in shaping natural ecosystems, and the human economies and cultures that depend on them. For example, the changes in climate can affect how people, plants and animal live, such as food production and health risks.
