he's the devil in disguise but an angel inside. he will say anything & everything to bring me down just to get me back up again. he used to be in the military, and i understand why he's so abusive, angry and vulgar to me. because he's so hurt and let's out all his anger and frustration on me because he's so very hurt inside from the unpleasant, torturing past , and i understand that but i don't understand why you're telling me i'm worthless and that you always wished i wasn't ever alive and would rather have me dead , i don't understand why you hate me, but you care so much for me to become a better person when all i can think of is nothing but about the negative within myself. i try to be positive, humble and always have a smile on my face

The United States Marine Corps has values drilled into our head at day one at recruit training. A marine lives by the Values of Honor, Courage, and commitment. Honor covers a lot of traits such as ethics, moral, integrity, respect, and maturity to name a few. Courage covers our mental, moral, and physical toughness. It focuses on doing what is right. It requires high personal standard and to lead by example with making decisions. This relates to the inner strength that tells us we can go further. Finally, commitment instills professionalism, discipline, pride, and concern for others. We must carry these values at all times 24/7.
A Few Good Men is a movie that adequately causes debate among renowned professors, philosophers, and psychoanalysts. The film demonstrates multiple qualities of commands and power in the military, specifically the Marines. A Few Good Men has an early distinguishable gender distinction, where women are subordinate to men, despite being higher in rank. Marines use a punishment known as a Code Red to discipline any soldier who fails to comply with any and all given orders. Philip G. Zimbardo is a professor at Stanford University who composed the article, “The Stanford Prison Experiment,” in 1973 (Zimbardo 240). Zimbardo’s article covers his experiment which tested college students’ abilities to adapt in either an authoritarian role as a guard or into a submissive role as a prisoner (Zimbardo 243). The guards were quickly subjected to factors, such as boredom, and began to expand their power by harassing the prisoners. The simple experiment swiftly deteriorated into a more realistic prison situation which exemplified the need for the college students to exert their power as guards. Erich Fromm is another prominent author who wrote “Disobedience as a Psychological and Moral Problem” in 1963, shortly after the Cuban missile crisis (Fromm 258). His article mainly discusses obedience; Fromm divides obedience into an authoritarian conscience, obeying out of fear or to please, and humanistic conscience, listening to a person’s own morals and ethics (Fromm 261). Fromm explains rational and irrational authority by stating that rational is to benefit all involved and irrational only benefits the person in charge (Fromm 261). A major component of the film is the abuse of power and how that power is usually exerted over lower ranking officers to...

Webster’s dictionary defines the word profession as a type of job that requires special education, training, or skill. Many Soldiers would not consider the Army as a profession but a way of life. Some think the word profession belongs to everyday jobs like a plumber, mechanic, or doctor. Dr. Don M. Snider stated “the Army is a profession because of the expert work it produces, because the people in the Army develop themselves to be professionals, and because the Army certifies them as such” (Snider, D. M. 2008). In October 2010, the Secretary of the Army directed the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) to lead an Army wide assessment of the state of the Army Profession. We have been at war as a Country for over a decade and the Army wanted to know how to shape the future of the Army as a profession and the effects the past decade had on our profession.
For the last five years I have been an indirect victim, and even though I was not the one personally being victimized, I still got the second hand effects on behalf of my junior Marines.
Machiavellian ideology often times contradicts conventional ideas of how a prince should govern. It justifies cruelty but only to sustain the power of a Prince when necessary. Principalities are undoubtedly dynamic in actions and thought. Machiavelli makes this a pervasive theme throughout The Prince and although one can obtain a principality in several ways, Machiavelli believed that those who rule do so to push people around. According to him, “it is a very natural and ordinary thing to desire to acquire, and always, when men do it who can, they will be praised or not blamed” (Machiavelli 14). While principalities are inherently powerful, still it is necessary to establish a strong military and hone one’s abilities in the art of war.

When I got back to Indiana I had nothing. I sold my car before I left for the Army because I planned on buying a new one with my sign on bonus. My Dad had cut me off from all support so I relied heavily on friends for a place to stay. I had quickly gotten to a point where I felt the world was against me which led to me making poor choices. It wasn’t long before I was arrested and had my first visit with the local jail. Over the course of the next three years I would find myself in and out of that jail three different times and I also had the opportunity to see the inside of a jail in Chicago. Even though I had all but given up on trying to do anything productive with my life I kept fighting the Army to get back in.
In the military, there are two separate groups; Enlisted and Officers. These two groups work hand in hand in each of the departments, whether it be Army, Navy, Air Force, or the Marines in order to assure that our national security is not at stake and to secure our liberties that we possess as American citizens. This being so, every soldier must possess particular qualities in order to succeed later on down the road, which is key in order to make good decisions on the battlefield and find the best route for soldiers to take.
Are the challenges that military commanders face in the contemporary operating environment more complex than ever before?
In some countries around the world, every young person must serve two years in the military. There isn’t an age limit as to how young the people may be, so they may all be teenagers. The young people must have to serve so they can learn how to respect their elders and love their country. This policy isn’t required in the United States nor should it be. This policy shouldn’t be considered in the United States because people have a choice in what they do, not everyone is cut out for the military and there are others things teenagers could be doing.
I joined the Army Cadets in August 2014 I am a Cadet at 1Platoon Strathaven Royal Scottish Borderers in Glasgow and Lanarkshire Battalion. I decided to join the Army Cadets because I was becoming bored at home and wanted to make new friends. I'm very energetic and knew that joining would be great in terms of keeping me active through activities at weekend / annual camps and at the detachment At the first thought of being a cadet I thought that it would be rubbish and boring and I would not like it but as my parents said “if you go and try it and don't like it then you don't need to go back”. So I did I went just at the start of 1st year at school and I've loved it ever since.
