What comes to mind when you think of success? If you answer big houses, expensive cars, or lots of money, then you are like every other person in the world. This false definition of success has been deeply embedded in to our brains in large credit to social media. Most people link success with CEOs, professional athletes, doctors, and other people with such titles. However, being passionate for what you love and overcoming adversity measure true success. Michael Jordan is one of the most successful athletes in professional sports history. People perceive his success by idealizing his athletic abilities and all of his accomplishments on the basketball court. Steve Jobs, the co-founder of apple, said:

Like every successful person, Jobs’ success started with his passion for technology. He did not know what he wanted to do with his life as a kid. He knew he loved technology and he wanted to make a difference in the world. What many people do not know about Steve Jobs is that he was a college dropout. This came at a time of his life where he was at a crossroads. He started practicing different professions. After these did not pan out he started working with technology. He quit his job with Atari to start Apple Computer Company, which started off in his garage. (Deutschman) Today, Apple is the leader in the computer and cellphone industry. Passion for innovation and technology has always been there for Steve and plays a large part in him overcoming all the obstacles in his life. It is very hard to overcome adversity without passion.

Like all great inventors, Albert Einstein had passion for curiosity, which led to him becoming one of the greatest scientists of all time. His childhood was a great obstacle he had to overcome in order to achieve what he has. Aside from his physical differences, his life in the school was terrible at an early age. Einstein had trouble with languages in his English class and all of his classmates, including his parents, thought he was not all there in the head. His teacher even told his parents that it did not matter what he studied, because he would never be successful at anything. (Albert) He often excluded himself from other kids and sat alone singing and playing the piano. His curiosity was sparked at the age of 12 when he discovered an algebra textbook. At this moment, he became obsessed with math and started learning topics that even adults could not fathom. His school life still did not show signs of progression when, at the age of 15, he was kicked out of school. (Pais) Despite his early childhood and physical appearances he rose to become one of the most intelligent men to ever live. Einstein’s success can be recognized for his passion for physics and mathematics and the ability to overcome the adversity he was faced
