When I was young, my mom took me along everywhere. At least once a month, we would travel to Oregon to visit my Aunt Kathy. I would go to the dark and creepy basement to play with my cousins, Carly and Marni. Together, we usually played with little Carebear figurines. I started to grow close to my cousins, especially Carly, even though she was seven years older than me. Her kindness made me feel warm and welcome.
Though she got older, it seemed that I never grew. I always looked up to her and her dedication to everything. My mom used to take me to all of Carly's sporting events in high school. I just loved cheering her on. Whenever she was on the basketball court, she always found time to wink at me in the crowd. I even made big posters to take with me when she made it all the way to state for the three-point contest.
After high school, Carly decided that she didn't want to stay around anymore. She wanted to go to college away from home. Since she was such a great student, she figured she'd be fine. Carly decided to attend Hofstra University in New York. We promised to be pen pals.
Well, that lasted about a year. I was finally growing up, getting busy, and we were losing touch. When we did write, all that I heard of were the boys she dated, and that her A's were dropping to C's. Every once in a while, I would ask my aunt how Carly was doing. The only answer I ever got was "She's fine."
A couple of years later, we ...

My Uncle Don was the fire chief of the town, so the funeral was full of firemen and police officers. The procession was even led by a fire truck.
I look back now and wish that I could have spent more time with Carly. What exactly was so important that the two of us didn't have time for each other? Even though we had some bad times, I'll always remember the good.
I think that we all live a life that is already planned. She skipped her time to go, and got another chance. I'm grateful that in that period I got to reunite with her. I hope that I can live her dreams through my life. After all, she is my idol.
Abstract: Streptococcus pyogenes is a gram positive coccus bacterium that is extremely common bacteria. This bacterium is part of group A streptococci, which meant that it has a certain type of polysaccharide antigen on its cell surface. It is commonly known as pharyngitis, or strep throat and produces over twenty exotoxins. Even though this bacterium has been around for thousands of years it still has a susceptibility to penicillin and there have only been a few cases of resistance.
Within the few minutes of meeting, my cousins and I were treating each other as if we had lived together for years. We were sharing crazy memories and laughing like old friends. Just in the car ride to my grandmother’s house, we shared secrets among ourselves and sang our hearts out to our favorite tunes. Once we arrived, I met my grandparents for the very first time in person, and they embraced me as if I was their own daughter.
“I’ve pretty much come to terms with it. I wouldn’t change it. I really would not change it,” she said. “All the years of suffering—it has made me a stronger person. It has made me who I am and I can’t regret that.”
Rabies, literally meaning “furious” in Latin, is commonly known throughout the ages for its terrifying effects on both humans and animals alike. Because the disease is fatal, people throughout the world have put greatest effort to find ways of controlling and preventing the disease. Natural remedies and protection amulets were used until Pasteur’s discovery of the vaccine. Based on those findings, people have altered techniques to make the vaccine. However, recently, there have been two particular cases concerning rabies. One woman survived the disease by an induced coma without receiving the vaccine. Another case a common organ donor infected with rabies killed all the recipients. These medical mysterious surprised many scientist even today.

It is important to note that a control group of mice were also established where the vaccine was not injected. Results show a positive relationship with immunogenicity in mice. The protective antibody against RABV persisted for at least 12 months. This would impact the veterinarian field which in turn would impact the medical field. If less dogs contracted the rabies virus, less humans would get bitten and also contract the
Antemortem conclusion of human rabies ought to incorporate lab testing of serum, spit, CSF, and a nuchal skin biopsy to advance symptomatic yield in light of the fact that any one test can be fluidly positive. Discovery of viral antigen by coordinate fluorescent immune response testing, detachment of rabies infection from salivation or focal sensory system tissue, ID of rabies virus– particular neutralizer in CSF, recognizable proof of rabies virus– particular counter acting agent in the serum of an unvaccinated individual, or recognition of viral RNA in spit, different liquids, or tissue are solid pointers of intense disease. Any of these discoveries in a clinically good case satisfies the case definition for human rabies set up by the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists. Viral separation, location of viral antigens, recognizable proof of viral nucleic corrosive, and recognition of rabies infection killing antibodies are not particularly required for analysis and are not reliably found in all human rabies

Regardless of her challenges, she ingrained her passion, perseverance, and and motivation into the core values that she taught me. As a result, her influence on my life is endless. More importantly, my mother was a survivor. Not only did she raise four children as a single, Black woman, but she did all of which while simultaneously fighting breast cancer for over seventeen years. Despite the difficulties, my mother never succumbed to the severity of her condition. She did not wait to die, but in fact lived her life to the fullest. Ranging from traveling the world, running successful businesses, and being a mother, she left no stone unturned. This is one of the reasons that I respect my mother so much. The fact that she went the extra mile to care for my siblings and I, pursue her own career, while holding on to her life, inspires me to never let my challenges keep me from my living an abundant life. I hope to be a fraction of the woman that my mother was when I grow
A dog was bit by a skunk last Wednesday night in a North Fargo neighborhood. This skunk was sent in for testing and results came back positive for the Rabies Virus. Luckily the dog that was bit by the infected skunk was vaccinated, but is still being watched for signs and symptoms of the disease. The Rabies Virus is dangerous because it causes a disease of the brain, this disease can even cause death (“Rabies,” 2013). The early symptoms of Rabies are very similar to the flue and include, but are not limited to nausea, headache, vomiting, and fever. If you are bit by an animal you should seek immediate medical attention, your doctor will then decide if treatment to prevent Rabies is

An animal with furious rabies exhibits the classic signs of becoming vicious. The animal is restless and will bite anything in its path.
Rabies a viral disease to warm blooded animals, its timeline dates back as far to 2300 BC. Research shows that dog owners of Babylonian city of Eshnunna (modern Tell Asmar in Diyala Province, Iraq) were fined for their dogs biting and causing death to people of the city. Rabies causes panic and fear into people in 1759-1762 making it a grim barbaric scene in London where street dogs were shot and given a reward restricting dogs to a month of confinement. In the 1800 hundreds becoming a widespread problem to the Western, Northern and Eastern part of Europe, Presenting itself back in North America and Canada to England to never go away. A mass of foxes become infected in France in 1803 this to date has been the largest outbreak to be seen killing
Clinical diagnosis of rabies is divided by three stages; prodromal, excitement, and paralytic (though not all of these stages can be observed in an individual). The initial clinical symptom is neuropathic pain that is located at the site of infection or wound due to viral replication. After the prodromal phase, either the excitement stage, the paralytic stage, or both, of the disease may be observed in the particular species (Yousaf, 2012). In the United States, the results of a rabies test are typically available within 24 to 72 hours after an animal is collected and euthanized. Roughly 120,000 animals or more are tested for rabies each year in the United States, and approximately 6% are found to be rabid (“Diagnosis”,
I have to start from the beginning to tell the end. Casey and I met in fifth grade we instantly hit it off and became extremely close rather soon. She told me about her life and I soon found out she didn’t have the best family.
