The island of Bali is literally a beautiful island situated under the equator in Indonesian Archipelago, and one of the most interesting tourist destinations in Asia. Bali exhibits itself in the strength of the local culture and its Hindu based religion The spirit of art creativity is always a part of Balinese daily life: the cultivation of the steeply-terraced rice field, traditional dance, gamelan music, painting, wood carving, and stone carving, as reader suggests:
Bali is renowned for its diverse and sophisticated art forms, such as painting, sculpture, wood carving, stone carving, and performing arts (Tropical Sky. Introduction to Bali. www.tropicalsky.co.uk. Web. 15 March 2011).
The Balinese artists are renowned for their skills in wood and stone carving and painting representations of the local mythical beings. They have traditionally been featured largely in temples and palace architectures for hundreds years. Most of the artists – wood and stone carver, art painter, Balinese dancer, traditional musical player, etc. - work without any prior education as it runs in their blood either from their parents or ancestor. When Balinese people do not work in the field, they are doing and creating some arts. They are really capable of giving shape to their thoughts and creativity through arts. The view of people carving the wood or stone, painting, dancing, and playing music is easily to find in Ubud, my favorite place and the heaven place of art lover. The carved door, window, mirror, and coffee table are usually used to furnish hotels, villas, or other residential places. The wood will bring a sophisticated smell in the room. The performance of Balinese dancing, playing gamelan - a traditional Indonesian ensemble typically incl...

Over the years, the tourism brings a rapid change to Bali especially in its economy and has become an integral part of Balinese society and economy. In effect, it changes some part of their society and culture. As far as I concern, I hope that the Balinese culture and tradition never be vanished in this Island of Gods, and young people can maintain their ancestor beliefs and traditions.

After hearing this description, an elegant sunset with innocent animals roaming about pops into mind.
“Art can use the power of visual image to challenge and even change popular opinions about important and universal issues. Art can be a very influential way to give a strong, direct comments and criticisms on things that have happened in society and culture.” (Rehab-Mol J, 1998, p6) Indigenous art is mostly about connecting to their land and their religious belief; however, art has different forms, especially the Indigenous contemporary art as it uses ‘modern materials in a mixed cultural context’. (Aboriginal Art Online, 2000)
The principles, elements and structures of Buddhism have been practiced for hundreds of years. Artistic renditions of Buddha have also been portrayed in many different ways. Drawings, sculptures and statues are just a few of the many types of art forms created since the beginning of Buddhism. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has many different stylistic artworks that are exceptionally intriguing. In particular, I have chosen two pieces of artwork I consider to be most interesting.
The first art that interested me was the art of Indonesia which in this exhibit depicted the culture, history and art of Indonesian people. For instance, Bali a small island in the Indonesia valued most of its art based on the rich resources they occupied such as most art was composed of gold, diamond and sapphires which people of Bali believed that it will resemble their higher standards in the society. Art of Bali amazed me the most when it came to their “King’s crown” and “Queen’s crown” which was completely “fashioned in pure gold with diamonds, rubies, and sapphires” (Bali). The king’s crown was much simpler compare to queen’s crown which contained many varied of gold decorative that looked like gold flowers, and all of its designs such as rubies or sapphires were perfectly horizontally lined to each other that sort of depicted as a shiny necklace. The Bali’s art that I observed was very interesting know about the society they lived in those centuries with representation of their upscale society (Bali).
When we hear the word “Art” certain images come to mind. We think of great masterpieces of epic battles, and cathedral walls depicting angels and demons. This however, is a very small part of the art of the world. One form of artwork has been seen in every civilization, on every continent; Folk art. Folk art at its root is art including paintings, textiles, furniture, and carvings done by a country's indigenous people. These pieces are often functional, and serve a purpose on top of being aesthetically pleasing. The techniques used by these people are often passed down generation to generation, and originate in the community itself. This means most of the artisans do not have any formal training in their craft. Many took apprenticeships, or learned from watching village elders.
The image of God is typically thought of as being loving and kind. However, this image is not always true. All people in this world, have many different ways of looking at things. In this essay I will compare two completely different humankind. Much can be gathered when comparing the poems written by Anne Bradstreet and the sermon by Jonathan Edwards. I will also explain a few of their differences. In life, people need inspiration to know that living is worth it, and each writer has a different way of portraying that. In the 1700’s, Bradstreet and Edwards were well known authors who focused their mind set in on God. They were both Puritans who revolved their life around religious freedom, but had very distinct ways of showing their recognition
“Art is a recurring form of human practice. Some have argued that all human societies have shown evidence of artistic activities.” (Carroll 5)
...nt characteristic of their matrilineal system. Most art pieces are reflecting Minangkabau culture and values. In their performances there is a lot of openness to high esteem, which is why there is a lot of interaction between the audience and the performers. The performers want to be open with the audience and establish a connection with them. That is the reason why they always have a circular shape when a performance is done. The circular pattern and communication interaction of their performing arts reflects the social and value system of the Minangkabau culture. (Utama)
Then you should definitely think about Australia, mysterious country that is a whole continent at the same time. It is a real paradise for an explorer, for scientists can’t explain some things, such as a pink lake, and 75% of flora and fauna are left unknown. But this continent is famous not only because of picturesque beaches and cheerful kangaroos, but also because its art. Unique music instruments, engravings and legends help to get to know Australia and its peculiarities. If you want to learn something new about Australian art, here you will find picturesque canvases and a piece of useful information for you.
Most tourists are interested in the Hawaiian Culture the tourism industry has created rather than the actual culture. They are never exposed to the real culture of sacred dances, ceremonies, and songs. Tourism branding is used to promote and make Hawai’i seem ‘attractive’, highlighting the culture and heritage of the state, when in reality the brand only uses those features to attract potential tourists. Krasnodebska also states that “the brand is controlled by the hotel giants, and exists primarily for the tourists.” Since tourism is the main key to keeping a stable economy in Hawai’i, the focus is always on it.
Arrival at the Banyan Tree Bintan Island is through a winding country road past the manicured lawns of the neighboring golf courses. It is quintessential island-getaway resort with a warm and friendly staff adorned in their mustard colored Indonesian uniforms. The staff is quick to greet guests with “Selamat Datang” (Welcome) with the palm of their hands pressed together with fingers pointing upward in the traditional Indonesian gesture and sign of respect.
Located deep within the vast open waters of the South Pacific Ocean is a nation that is seemingly hidden to the rest of the world. The country of Vanuatu is a world within itself full of cultural diversities, geographical wonders and natural beauty that cannot compare to anywhere else in the world. The natives who inhabit the cluster of islands that make up the country of Vanuatu are proud of their heritage and have strong beliefs in their ways of life. With countless influences from other cultures, they have become their own breed of sorts. Their richness and cultural diversity is one of its main attraction to visitors, who can witness rituals and traditional ceremonies that are an integral part of modern life. Due to the natural boundaries, large open stretches of water, and the jungle and mountainous terrain, tourism is very low, leaving Vanuatu as one of the most untouched native areas remaining on Earth today. By taking a deeper look inside at what all it has to offer, Vanuatu is a county of the South Pacific rich in culture and local traditions that many may soon realize that they need to discover.
