It is said to be that German philosopher Karl Marx was the founding father of communism. He stated that the capitalist and the free market system were cases to inequality and exploitation. In this paper, it will be explained how the Cuban revolution was much like the revolution in Animal Farm. First there will be a quick explanation about the cuban revolution. It won’t stop there, key elements of the revolution, including historic figures such as names and important documents affiliated with the revolution will also be explained. After you know enough about the Cuban Revolution, it will be compared to Animal Farm. It will include side by side comparisons and explanations of main characters, documentation, events and outcomes. And finally, I will explain in my opinion, if my revolution and Orwell’s vision of revolution tell us about humanity. Also the lessons learned about the people of the Cuban Revolution.
The Cuban Revolution was a civil war in the years of 1953-1959. The dictator Fulgencio Batista was not liked by his people. Nobody had tried to overthrow him because of his military. Then came Fidel Castro, he spent most of 1952 gaining members and stockpiling ammunition for his military. They slowly conquered and defeated the forces of Fulgencio Batista using guerrilla warfare and winning small battles. Finally Castro’s forces led him the capital of Cuba, Havana. The opposing forces didn’t fight back because their commander ordered them not to. Castro then took over. He ordered for anyone who was loyal to the past ruler to executed. ...ro is similar to the driving out of Farmer Jones. It was the last effort to drive out the dictator and it worked. Another event I feel are parallel are Karl Marx’s speech with Old Major’s. They both explained the beauty of communism but also gathered all the people and animals to work together to a common goal.
Humanity in general won’t ever stop changing or evolving. That’s just in our nature. If we don’t like how something is going we will always try to change no matter what, even if that demands violence. I personally think that us as humans won’t ever reach the goal of a perfect world. There will always be something that humans want to change. For example, Orwell stated, “If you want a vision of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face - forever.” There will always be problems in this world. We might be able to change it, but another will come up soon.
