The Crucible Accuracy

The Crucible was a very excellent book.The book had many great features that played very well to the story. History is one of the things that played a big rule.Arthur Miller kept the story historically correct while adding his own perspective into it.Another things that played a big role was depth.Miller was able to give the reader a in depth feeling for the story.As a reader depth is important and, miller showed it in his story and characters.Something else that played a big part was interpretation .Any person who read the crucible could interpret different things than others. One such thing that could be interpreted is theme.Some readers can get one theme while another reader sees a different theme.

One theme that is fit for the crucible is history repeats itself.The reason Arthur Miller wrote the crucible was because of what was happening during his time. What was going on during his time was the massive hunt for communist in America.This resulted with a lot of people being blacklisted.After evaluating what was happening was he needed a way to reach the people .the way Miller saw fit was by providing an example that is similar to the situation they are in now.And the crucible was that example. That example was a story very similar to what was going on at the time, which the Crucilble in the story describes how like people hunting for communist

people in the crucible were hunting for withces. If you got caught the way you world take the edge off is you would give up someone else. This way was the same in the Crucible, but instead of Communist if you were accused of being a witch. The next thing similar was if you were accused you were able to get to get some heat of you. The thing to do was put some of the blame on someone else so you might some slack. What Mr. Miller saw in this was a way to show that even though this is different. This event that happened a long time ago was very similar to what was happening during his time.

Arthor Miller saw this event as a way to show people to look this has happened before. To show that like how some people blame other people. In the book, Abigail also did use this tactic to get out of trouble which was to blame Tituba. It also described this tactic in both the movie and the documentary. Both explained that something else that people did was use the situation to get enemies in trouble. More likely that was also done and Mr. Miller wanted to see that like the Crucible people were acting like kids. Like little kids to blame other people to get reverse or act upon grudges and he use the crucible to show no onlyh people of his time, but also the government people. He just wanted it to stop like how in the ending of the crucible people wanted the hanging and the accusation to stop due to how peoples life were being ruined. Mr. Miller wanted to get people to stop blacklisting people is basically in ruins those people's lifes and he just wanted it to stop. The way he solved this was him writing the crucible.

Another theme is there is nothing to fear but fear itself.

One of the most important things that affect the crucible was fear. Most of the problems and situations were caused due to people and their fears. An example of this is how people were getting caught out of trouble. This is something that happened in both the and in America during Arthur Miller's time. One thong that helped contribute to the fear was the power people have. For example the power people in the crucible were the priest and the judges. These people used their reputation and power to strike fear into the people which made them act the way they

did.

In Miller's time the power people were the government and its representatives used their power and propaganda to put fear into its people. This caused people to change from a little on edge to anything out of the ordinary into accusations. For example in act 1 of the crucible Giles wa asking Mr hale on his opinion about his wife's books later on as people grew more secured things went from went from strange to demonic. Like giles wife people saw her conciling her books from something thought of strange to demonic. These change of feelings due to fear eventually lead to the accusation of giles wif an later death of giles himself. No to forget what happened with abigail. In the begginning of the crucible abigail is caught dancing with other women, in the woods out of fear of getting in trouble she threw the blame on tituba. After this was done it set the chain of reactions to the end of the play. People began to overcome this fear by not conffessing. This did indeed was something that miller want people to see an feel during his time. Miller want tot purseude people to overcome their fear and stand against the government like in the crucible.

In conclusion the two most important themes are supported throughout the crucible. Plus many examples can be used to support both using the movie can be used ot support both using all the movie, book, and documentary. I did enjoy seeing how Arthor Miller used the characters actions, attidudes, and feelings to show how certain things affected the story in the future. For example Mr. Giles, in the story, it went from his wife being suspecious to things being constricted and then lead to the death of Mr. Giles later on. Many things did play into the future. He even showed it in his main characters. He showed this change in feelings. Overall, I did enjoy Mr. Miller's book and cause.
