There are many things that cause people to do bad things: many people do not want to draw the attention to themselves, often it is easier to follow the crowd, and sometimes people find themselves caught in a tradition. Some people were also raised to live like that, and believe like they do now. They did not know that it was wrong because nobody told or thought them to help the people/animals. In Terrible Things, everything was in its own crowd. The rabbits, birds, fish and frogs, squirrels, and porcupines were in the little groups. They all took a group by a group each time they came. Adam followed the rules, but however the woman that the Lord God created was tricked by the serpent. “Ye shall not surely die...” (“Genesis” 55). The woman knew that she was not going to die, so she didn’t listen to what the Lord God told Adam. By being disobedient to Lord God, Adam and the woman had to face consequences. “I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thy shalt bring forth children…” (“Genesis” 55).
