Throughout the story, power is shown differently between the variety of relationships that the characters have with one another. One of the power relationships in Romeo and Juliet is between Lord Capulet, who is Juliet’s father, and Juliet. In their society, men were the ones who made the decisions, and had control over women. Women didn’t have a mind of their own. In the play Romeo and Juliet Capulet says, “Hang thee, young baggage, disobedient wretch!
