The construction industry in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) is moving through a process of adaptation to a new environment of economical change. With the change in the KSA economic driving force, the construction sector is driven by competitive pressure to adapt to the recent market requirements and government regulations. The world is also in a continuous state of change and no one is exempt from this process. Increased worldwide competition, technology innovations, insufficiency of resources, all exerts a major pressure in adopting new technologies. In the business enterprise point of view, the intention for change is always a difficult and costly task and yet the capability to withstand the pressure demands and developing technologies becomes the essential ingredient for eternity. A recession is where there is temporary economic deterioration which lasts longer than a few months, sometimes years. This can be seen by the employment rate decreasing and the reduction of trade and industry work. This is determined by the Gross Domestic Product (GPD) which is a government statistic which shows the total country’s economy movement. This is measured every 3 months (quarterly) and it is said that if after two consecutive quarters the GPD is down then the country is seen to be in recession. (Kollewe, 2009). The most recent recession in the UK kick-started in 2008, which was seen to be one of the worst recessions the UK has seen since the Great Depression. In July 2008 was when it became increasingly obvious that we was about to enter a recession; the unemployment rate kept rising, the housing industry started to cut thousands of jobs and the whole-sale industry was declining in production. (Allen, 2010)
Gender diversity may be less about adapting to the modern roles in construction, as it is about managers adapting the way they value, function and manage their resources within a modern construction project. Aecom’s paper 'Global Engineering, Design and Construction Gender Diversity Survey' displays the current status of gender diversity trends among firms in the global construction industry. Gender mainstreaming is a conception that addresses the wellbeing of men and women. There is significant evidence that establishes that organizations in a westernized construction industry have identified gender equality as an importance within a professional environment. Each project is unique and every day can present new challenges, the industry benefits from a variety of perspectives and background including the viewpoints of both genders. Although; this differs around the world due to the cultural differences and values of several other nations.
Construction Management is the overall planning, outlook, coordination, budget and control of a construction project from start to finish. Without them, construction projects would be very unorganized and chaotic. They make sure projects run smoothly and efficiently. They work with electricians, plumbers, carpenters and general contractors to produce the safest and best way to complete the project for the customer. Being a construction manager is a good job because they help many people build what they need.
Crimes punishable by the death sentence in Saudi Arabia include murder, serious attacks on the Islam religion, adultery, dress codes, and since 1987, drug smuggling. Under Saudi Arabian law, serious crimes merit serious consequences. Repeated theft is punishable by amputation of the right hand, administered under anesthetic. Because most meals in Saudi Arabia are eaten by hand from a communal bowl and only the right hand may touch the food, this punishment effectively bans the convicted thief from society. The severity of this punishment has led to a slight softening of the law in recent years; now if the thief repents and makes restitution before the case is brought before a judge, the punishment can be reduced... furthermore, the victim of the crime may demand payment rather than amputation of the thief’s right hand, and in some cases the victim is even permitted to parden the criminal. In a typical year at least ten hands amputations are carried out for repeated thievery in Saudi Arabia. (Goodwin, 1943) Today in the United States, crimes such as theft are punishable by jail sentence if they have more than one thievery act.
Since the 1950s, the cities of Saudi Arabia witnessed significant changes in the composition of the population and the arrangement of the built environment. The Saudi society has transformed from a nomadic pastoral society to a highly modernized one as a result of the increase in national revenues from oil production. Rapid growth and improved economic conditions led to the adoption of modern planning principles which are in contrary to the traditional city. Although modernization had contributed to raising the living standard of the neighbourhood, it led to the creation of social, cultural and climate problems as well.
Saudi Arabia’s capital market is considered to be young compared to other financial markets in the region. Saudi financial markets have been developing slowly because most enterprises in the country are either government owned or family-owned, most of which was funded through state budget, and as a result reduced the need for financing. In the recent past, Saudi Arabia has focused on a careful measurement for structural developments and regulatory changes. However, different phases of historical development of the capital market which can be classified into three phases; pre-industrialization phase, post industrialization phase and growth phase that sparked changes and shaped the kingdom 's capital market on

In building construction and in fire prevention there are organizations that have created a useful system on how to determine what type of building falls under which category. The ICC (International Code Council) and the NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) create these building codes for the safety of firefighters. The two most commonly known standards for building classifications are the NFPA 5000 and also the International Building Code (IBC). The two are very similar, however, they different on sub-categorizing. The International Building Code uses Roman numerals behind the type of construction. In addition to subcategories with letters for each five classes and the amount of fire resistance provided for each building. NFPA uses Roman numerals behind the type of construction. Unlike the IBC, NFPA uses a 3-digit number system behind that to sub categorize the fire hourly rating for the load-bearing walls, for the beams and columns, and for the floor construction. The IBC and NFPA breaks down construction in to five classes, Type I, Type II, Type III, Type IV, and Type V.
In every business offered by any organizations, it is very important to ensure that the customers will always satisfied with services provided. People nowadays are looking for the new technologies, new markets, new ideas and also new inventions. Thus the organization must always keep up with the current changes in demand to ensure that their services are still relevant to the customers. The changes of demand also called as an evolution and to achieve these, the organizations are advised to have a process that we called as “Business Transformation” (“Business Transformation: The Importance of Change,” 2014).
Saudi Arabia is an average sized country, roughly one-fifth the size of the United States, in the Middle East. The population is roughly twenty-seven million people. It is the birth place of the Islamic religion, which is Saudi Arabia’s main religion. Most of the country is desert and they have a dry hot climate. Saudi Arabia’s main export is oil. According to the article “U.S. Relations with Saudi Arabia.” Saudi Arabia gives the United States over one million barrels of oil every day. Although Saudi Arabia has a great economy they have very many conflicts within the county. In one instance, a person not from Saudi Arabia gouged out another man’s eye with a set of jumper cables at a gas station. While he was in prison he was given the opportunity to pay the man’s medical bills which was twenty-five thousand dollars. Instead his punishment was the old saying of “an eye for an eye”, so the government ordered for his eye to be gouged out and he had to pay for the man’s medical bills (“Saudi Arabia Court…”). We as a nation should care about Saudi Arabia because their foreign workers are being mistreated, domestic abuse is very high, and women have little to no rights in Saudi Arabia.
The oil sector plays a crucial role in the economic activity in Saudi Arabia. This is no surprise since Saudi Arabia possesses 18 percent of world oil proven reserves. Over the years, the oil sector contributed significantly to its economic activity and has been reflected in strong government expenditure among different sectors in the economy. While high oil revenues are certainly beneficial to oil producing countries (Saudi), it makes the Saudi economy vulnerable to price swings (see graph 1). From instance, oil prices were increasing during the boom years (2003 – 2014) and oil rents increased accordingly; however, the benefits of strong revenues soon faded in the wake of the global financial crisis 08/09 and recently in the crash of oil prices.
