Chinese Proverb
The Chinese have a proverb about the evolution of humanity, and in particular, the nature of intellectual relationships. Although the color green is composed from the color blue, it often shines with a more brilliant luster than its predecessor does. This is a metaphor for the pupil and teacher. The pupil learns knowledge from his teacher, but will outgrow his teacher and eventually surpass him in wisdom. I believe this accurately describes the progress of human knowledge throughout time. In fact, it is quite obvious how technology and science have improved as time goes on. There are dramatic changes even in the last decade as people take the discoveries of their predecessors and expand on those principles. Jorge Luis Borges’ short story, “The Circular Ruins,” also illustrates this idea of the descendents being superior to the ancestors. However, Borges additionally uses a creation story and the theme of recursiveness, which suggest that there is no single perfect being that created all, but that there are numerous beings that create, with each successive one becoming more powerful. This also implies that, contrary to Judeo-Christian belief, the perfect being is waiting to be created in the end and is not the creator in the beginning.
“The Circular Ruins” can be interpreted in several ways, but the basic plot revolves around a man trying to create another being in his dreams. This creator, referred to as a “magician” in the story, is a god in that he creates a likeness of himself and gives it life. ... worshiped as gods. But in this succession of creators, we have an infinite line, so perhaps there will never be an end, and there never was a beginning, suggesting that there is no perfection or standard to uphold in the universe.
Borges makes a point in establishing the recursiveness of creation in his story; my comparison to the repeated creation of more creators is solely an interpretation of the text. It is, however, interesting how the idea of the superior descendant is observable in the real world. By applying this to the idea of the infinite line of creation, the result is an idea that is in disagreement with worldly beliefs, but yet at the same time in agreement with the worldly observations. Moreover, the implications arising from the infinite line point to a somewhat disturbing, but very Nietzschean universe void of an absolute truth and perfection.

God performs his divine acts in many ways. Jesus could perform miracles of healing and create food from nothing. These are the more conventional ways we see divine intervention at work. Almighty God, however, does not prefer these standard methods. Instead, he prefers to act in ways we humans can only begin to understand. This is very much true for the short story “A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings” by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Within the story, a winged man falls from the sky with no meaning or purpose. The man is shrouded in mystery. Nameless and unable to communicate with the native villagers, he lives among them. His intentions are never truly known to either the reader or to the villagers. However, the biblical parallels throughout the story help us unravel the mysteries behind this strange old man. By analyzing the significance of these allegories, we can better understand the old man’s purpose while, at the same time, learning more about hidden moral teachings and criticisms in the story.

The importance of supporting children and developing social skills is critical for learning, happiness, and long-term. This development begins during infancy and can be supported through simple social games, emotional role model, and imitating an infant's facial expression and sounds. The importance of social-emotional development and toddlers makes an impact in a child life when these skills are developed starting in infancy. Encouraging positive behaviors and using positive discipline practices that helped to develop the ability to make good choices as well as recognizing the confidence that is built when these behaviors are repeated. This is a process for young children to learn these behaviors always remembering that a patient response will help especially when the behaviors are
Giacomo’s garden, like Eden, has lush greenery, has borders which keep separate the inside and outside worlds, and has its own version of Adam and Eve, who are, as Oliver Evans argues, Beatrice and Giovanni, respectively (186). Despite similarities to the original, perfect Eden, what makes Giacomo’s garden an inverse-Eden is that it is Fallen, and its Fallen state is revealed through the poisonous nature of Beatrice and the plants within. Giacomo’s garden is also like an inverse-Eden because Beatrice is Adam—for she was created by Giacomo, who appears to be playing the role of God—and Giovanni is Eve, whom Giacomo (God) finds so his Beatrice can have a mate. This gender-reversal of “Adam” and “Eve,” in addition to the poisonous plants make Giacomo’s garden like, but also not exactly like,
I was less positive about building relationships with certain staff because of how they communicated back to me. From this I could tell the risks outweighed the benefits of making the relationship happen. In a friendly atmosphere, I chose to interact with the staff because I felt valued and I wanted to develop a relationship with them. In situations where the staff were not friendly, I chose not to build a bond with them because I felt it was not beneficial for me. I had to realize even though the risks of the relationship outweighed the benefits, it was important to still overcome the problems and try to establish a positive relationship with every staff. It is also important for children’s development and what staff portray to the children as they can sense negativity between different staff.

Physiological needs are the physical requirements for human survival. If these requirements are not met, the human body cannot function properly and will ultimately fail. Physiological needs are thought to be the most important; they should be met first. Air, water, and food are metabolic requirements for survival in all animals, including humans. Clothing and shelter provide necessary protection from the elements.
Each higher order of motivational need is built upon a more basic need. After physiological and safety needs are met then the individual looks to belong and be accepted by peers and groups that they identify with. Once accepted, one looks to improve their self-esteem and garner the respect and esteem of their peers and the groups to which they belong. Finally an individual is driven by the need to become self-actualized, becoming all that one has the potential of becoming.
Verbal communication is when a sender communicates by speaking. However there are some pros and cons towards using verbal communication. For example, when someone uses verbal communications they can understand what message they are trying to send without any explanation however, some people have different ways of saying things especially people from different cultures because they have different accents and dialects.
