In essence, the play Romeo and Juliet, written by Shakespeare. Has showed a multitude of emotions. Sadness, and love, to name a few. During the play a conflict a rises, and the blame lies with only one person. I believe that the blame lies with Friar Lawrence, because he makes faulty plans, he is irresponsible, and does everything secretly.
Some may say that Balthasar holds the most blame for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. After all, Balthasar is the one who tells Romeo Juliet is dead.
This causes Romeo’s downward spiral, which ultimately results in Romeo’s death. When she discovers Romeo’s death, Juliet stabs herself. While this may be true,Friar Lawrence holds the most blame for the outcome of the play. To continue, Friar Lawrence makes faulty plans. He make plans that conflicts with one of the main characters, Romeo Montague. An example of this, would be when Friar Lawrence marries the couple in …show more content…

A cold and drowsy hour, for no pulse. Shall keep his native progress, but surcease. No warmth, no breath shall testify thou livest. ” (4.1.94-99) This quote puts him responsible for everything, the death of Romeo, the death of Paris, and the death of Juliet. If he was responsible the conflicts would’ve been solved in a entirely different way. Other character traits include, that does everything in secret. Not telling Balthasar about the plan causes Romeo to fall into deep depression. This is when the plan goes south, he creates a plan to supposly to save Juliet from marrying Paris. His plan is stated here, “ Now must I go to the monument alone. Within this three hours will fair Juliet wake. She will beshrew me much that Romeo hath had no notice of these accidents. But I will write again to Mantua, and keep her at my cell till Romeo come. Poor living corse, closed in a dead man’s tomb! ”
