Kurt Cobain was at the peak of his career when it all came crashing down. Nirvana was the new band that everyone liked. But it all changed the night Cobain’s body was found in his Washington home. Everyone originally thought it was suicide. But was it really? Looking back on his death more and more people are arguing everyday if it was suicide or homicide.
There are many reasons why people some people still think that Cobain’s death was by suicide. The number one reason is that there was a note found near him. People automatically assume it’s a “suicide note”. When it doesn’t state anything about killing himself. It explains why he wanted to quit the music business. Although at the end of the note it does state “I love you, I love you.”
It wasn’t addressed to anyone in particular. Many people have the theory Cobain was writing to his wife, Courtney Love, and their daughter Francis. When the body was found he had three times the lethal dose of heroin, in his bloodstream. Plus to add to that he also had the drug Diazepam also found in his bloodstream. He was also going through a divorce at the time with his wife, Courtney Love. So could this lead him to kill himself? Its very possible, since drugs can make you do things that you wouldn’t do. On Tom Grand’s Kurt Case website it shows that this wasn’t the first time Cobain had tried to kill himself. There is also many reasons why people believe that it is murder. The most suspicious reason is because when Cobain’s body was found his credit card was stolen. Since the top hit “Smells like teen spirit” was bringing in a lot of money at the time, it’s possible that someone killed him for his money. He also went missing seven days before his body was found. A person could have killed him and hid his body. The body was found in the room above the garage, the room was not used very often and only for storage.
Facts: Twenty one year old, University of Wyoming college student, Matthew Shepard, died October 12, 1998 at 12:53 a.m. after spending five days in a comma due to massive injuries and head trauma in a robbery and hate crime assault (Matthew Shepard, 2000 [on-line]). Matthew Shepard met Aaron McKinney (22) and Russell Henderson (21) of Laramie in a local bar called Fireside Lounge. McKinney and Henderson had been drinking. The two led Shepard to believe they were gay and lured Shepard to their truck. McKinney pulled out a gun and said, Guess what- we’re not gay and you’re gonna get jacked. McKinney then told Shepard to give him his wallet. When Shepard refused, McKinney hit him with the gun. With Henderson behind the wheel, McKinney continued to strike Shepard. McKinney then told Henderson to get a rope out of the truck. McKinney allegedly tied Shepard’s beaten body to a wooden split-rail post fence, robbed him of his wallet and patent leather shoes, continued to beat him and left him to die for over 18 hours. Chasity Vera Pasley (20) and Krista Lean Price (18), the suspect’s girlfriends, hid the bloody shoes of Henderson and provided the suspects with alibis. Shepard’s shoes, coat and credit card were found in McKinney’s pick-up truck; his wallet was found in McKinney’s home. A .357 Magnum was also found in McKinney’s home (Matthew Shepard, 2000 [on-line]).

Kurt was an extremely happy child. He would wake up everyday so happy. He was
Stated by John Ramsey, “As I was walking through the basement, I opened the door to a room, and knew immediately that I’d found her because there was a white blanket- her eyes were closed, I feared the worse but yet- I’d found her” (Bardesley, and Bellamy). Some of the sources included literature such as the novel “Perfume” by Parrick Suskind which is about an apprentice in a perfume shop who has an amazing sense of smell but no sent of his own and becomes a murderer of young girls for their sent (Scentless Apprentice). Also newspaper articles (Polly).
Kurt Cobain was the legendary lead singer of arguably one of the most influential bands in recent history, Nirvana. He was born February 20th 1967 and committed suicide in his Seattle home on April 5th 1994. (No he didn’t, Courtney Love totally killed him but that’s just a theory and also beside the point of this paper.) When Kurt Cobain committed “suicide” he was found with a shotgun shot to the face and over three times the lethal dosage of heroin in his system. His sudden death shocked the country and people still visit the site of the “suicide” today.
Kurt Cobain, lead singer of the infamous band Nirvana was discovered outside of his Seattle home three days after his death by Garry Smith on April 8, 1994. Have you ever heard of Tupac, the 1990 hip-hop sensation. Have you heard how he died, or even who killed him? Well, this is what this essay is about, the murder of Tupac Shakur, also known as Makaveli. The murder of Tupac Shakur is a conspiracy topic. A conspiracy is a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. Many humans believe that Tupac is still alive and in hiding, while the other percentage think he is dead.
When the band Rage Against the Machine spit, Zack de la Rocha wanted to go solo, while other members and even guitarist Tom Morello and frontman of Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, formed another big group called Audioslave (“ Without Rage, Just Music” 1). After Cobain’s death in Nirvana, they released some more albums, and even played some live shows for MTV. The death of Staley, of Alice in Chains, they began playing with a new singer, William Duvall. They continue to release albums and go on tours even today. Like Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam still play and release albums today. Despite all of the success all these bands had, they still stayed true to their fans, and fought for what they would want, good music with a reasonable price. Bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana both wanted all their fans to be able to get their music and see them in shows. Pearl Jam took Ticketmaster to court and sued them for making their ticket prices so much and service charges. Ultimately Pearl Jam ended up paying for some of the service charges for each ticket sold so their fans get a little cheaper
The shooting at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado killing thirteen students and teachers shocked the world. “They were video gamers who seemed to be acting out some dark digital fantasy. It was as if all that exposure to computerized violence gave them the idea to go on a rampage – or at least fueled their urges” (Carey 1). The shooters of this incident learned their deadly skills from video games. Seventy percent of children ages eight to eighteen have access to violent video games at their home. “Boys who play Teen or Mature-rated games for a minimum of 40 minutes a day may witness over 180 incidents of aggression per day, or 5,400 incidents per month”(Smith, S.L., Lachlan, K.A., & Tamborini, R). Children that play violent video games at such a young age and experiencing such violent actions will start to increase in aggressive thoughts, feelings, and aggressive behavior.
This is an essay on the controversy and happenings of Tupac Amaru Shakur's so called death. This is not a biography on his life. However I will have to sum up his life for better comprehension of these facts and theories which I will reveal.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame pays tribute to artists that have made a difference in the music industry. These bands include Nirvana, who is apart of grunge. Grunge has to do with electric guitars, contrasting song dynamics and lyrics filled with agony. Nirvana is an important group that will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame because they started a new era of grunge.
It can be caused by many things including lack of social support and bullying. This subject relates to this case because Conrad Roy had a reason to commit suicide and there is a probability that it was due to the options I stated. The article states “ And, finally, if a child is talking about dying, you should always pay attention,” which is correct because Conrad had already talked about suicide to Michelle Carter and instead of seeking for help, she was the influence. Teen suicide is something serious and stoppable with the right
Although sociologists like J.D. Douglas would question the reliability of the statistics, due to the coroners decision being final, most sociologists would agree that Durkheim's study into suicide was successful, and indeed many have tried to develop and improve on his theory. Overall, this essay has shown that one type of methodology may not always be suitable for the particular research carried out. Both Interpretative sociology and the Positivist approach equally show that they are valid methods for carrying out research, but like everything, nothing is one hundred percent accurate. Therefore, there is always room for flaw, but in the study of Sociology, there is always room for more ways of obtaining and interpreting data.
