Grieved, traumatized and distressed was what the Grambling State University felt after the fatal shooting that claimed the life of its very own Michael Jackson, and his friend, Paul Walker, who was not a student at the Grambling State University, between the late hours on October 24th and early hours of October 25 2017 during homecoming week, as a result of an altercation that commenced in a dorm room where a gathering was taking place, and was later taken outside. It is alleged that the incident occurred due to a fracas which started with Whitney Houston who was insulted by Michael Jackson. As such, she called her boyfriend Tupac Shakur and informed him of the situation. Subsequently, Shakur confronted Jackson at the dorm gathering which …show more content…
2017). Thus first-degree murder is the killing of a human being when the offender has a specific intent to kill or inflict great bodily harm and the offender has previously acted with a specific intent to kill or inflict great bodily harm that resulted in the killing of one or more person (Chavero, L. 2017). Therefore, in Tupac Shakur's case, such enactment plays a great part as he used a gun to not inflict harm but to end not one but two lives. In addition, knowing that Jackson and Walker were unarmed, proved that Shakur used unnecessary force to save his life as his attorneys Lil Wayne and Fetty Wap claimed that he was in danger. Furthermore, first-degree murder includes three basic elements. That include, willfulness, deliberation, and premeditation (First Degree Murder Overview - FindLaw. 2017). Thus, the fact that he brought the gun to the dorm gathering proves that deliberation and premeditation occurred before the act was committed. Willing fullness to kill comes into play when he not only shot Walker but also Jackson. In light of the above, Tupac Shakur defense of self-defense is deemed null and void for the reasons that his actions were deliberated and premeditated beforehand, he used more force than was necessary and took the lives of two promising young
Throughout the years Tupac tended to participate in the arts, landing seven movie roles. While Shakur had been producing things professionally since 1987, his career hadn’t truly taken off until the early 90’s when he debuted in Digital Underground's "Same Song" from the soundtrack to the 1991 film “Nothing but Trouble.” Up until the day Tupac died, he was going head first into the game. Shakur was always working hard and doing what he loved. Biggie, on the other hand, was from the Clinton Hill section of the Brooklyn borough of New York City, New York. He was nicknamed “Big” because he was overweight from the time he was ten years old. Wallace had been rapping since his early teen years and continued his passion all throughout his life. While he was always excelled in school, he dropped out of school at the age of seventeen. Biggie started dealing drugs at the age of twelve and continued his criminal life until the end. The Notorious B.I.G. was arrested on several occasions. A few examples are that he was arrested in 1989 for weapons charges, 1990 for violation of probation, and in 1991 for dealing Crack Cocaine. On August
Emmett Till, who was born on July 25, 1941, was 14 years old when he was lynched in Mississippi after allegedly flirting with a white woman. He had traveled from his hometown of Chicago to visit his relatives in the South when two white men arrived at his family’s home and dragged him out at gunpoint.
The Impact of the Dred Scott Case on the United States The Dred Scott Case had a huge impact on the United States as it is today. The Thirteenth and Fourteenth Amendments have called it the worst Supreme Court decision ever rendered and was later overturned. The Dred Scott Decision was a key case regarding the issue of slavery; the case started as a slave seeking his rightful freedom and mushroomed into a whole lot more. 65
One of the most coveted trials in terms of popularity and media attention the O.J Simpson trial which took place between 1994 and concluded on October 2,1995 with O.J Simpson being acquitted of charges laid upon him during the Murder Trial Due to handling of physical evidence and questions over whether Mark Fuhrman planted the bloody glove at the scene to frame O.J. so in an attempt to understand how a deviation from standard operating procedures in the handling of physical evidence can affect the outcome of a criminal trial; One most first understand evidence and how to preserve it. ¨Father forgive us for living (Shakur, 1). Tupac speaks from the african american point of view, as in a world where african americans are discriminated, simply living is a crime In ¨Untitled 1,¨ by Tupac Shakur, the theme is how African Americans have been discriminated by other races and even self-discriminated and how that needs to be changed. Tupac examines the struggles of African Americans, and talks about how they have been discriminated for a very long time and how it has caused sorrow. That being said, he remains hopeful towards the future, and wants to inspire children to spark change.
According to A Novel Approach to Politics “Questions about the very nature of reality seem to be common in fiction of all sorts.” Especially, The Boondocks, a fictional cartoon, uses satire to describe real events that happen in society. The episode I tuned into was “The Trial of R. Kelly”, which explained how R. Kelly won his trial and the views of the people about his case. In the episode, the people outside the court house showed different cognitive frameworks of how they view R. Kelly situation. In other words, the media made sense of the reality of R. Kelly situation in different ways because of the media wanted to select certain information. In this paper, I will explain how the media exemplified mediated reality and agreement reality in the “The Trial of R. Kelly” episode of The Boondocks.
The primary thing that persuaded my current viewpoint on race relations was the George Zimmerman trial for the homicide of Trayvon Martin. This was a case that took place when I was relatively young, around the age of ten, so I feel that the event has shaped the way that I view racism today. My mother studied racism for her degree, so I was never particularly ignorant about the topic of race. However, the Trayvon Martin case was the first time in my life that I could remember a blatant and publicized act of racial injustice. Hence, it provided evidence and validation for all the things that I had been taught about race up until this point. However, it further influenced the way I viewed race because it allowed me to see specifically see the
A large amount of his followers believed this to be because of racial discrimination against them. Police, however, argue that they did. all they could and witnesses refused to cooperate. They also contend that a lot of Tupac associates, like the man himself, had criminal charges. records and displayed a lot of hostility towards the police.
Many people have this one thing they ALWAYS do, and Tupac’s was wear a bullet-proof vest. It is so ironic how the night he didn't wear one he ended up getting shot. Tupac was cremated the day after he died. Now who gets cremated the day after they die, no autopsy no nothing. They can’t did him up like they wanted to do with Elvis Presley or former President Abraham Lincoln. The Cadillac that the murderer was in was never found. If someone would have robbed a bank or casino in Las Vegas the police would've been all over the scene. In Atlanta, GA., if someone was shot the police would look for the gunman immediately. However the city that the shooting was in was only about eight blocks who could run away in a city of eight blocks that fast.
First degree murder is classified by murder with a malicious intent; it also includes murder while committing a crime. Second degree murder is the act of killing a person with no prior intent. Involuntary murder, which is sometimes called third degree murder, is murder that results from a disregard for human life; this would include acts such as drunk driving. Finally, voluntary murder occurs when a person with no prior intent to kill enters a circumstance in which his emotions get the best of him and murder occurs.
Tupac Amaru Shakur was born in the East Harlem section of Manhattan in New York City, New York. He was named after Túpac Amaru II, an Incan revolutionary who led an indigenous uprising against Spain and received capital punishment. His mother, Afeni Shakur, was an active member of the Black Panther Party in New York in the late 1960s and early 1970s, Shakur was born just one month after her acquittal on more than 100 charges of "conspiracy against the United States government and New York landmarks" in the New York Panther 21 court case. Although officially unconfirmed by the Shakur family, several sources list his birth name as either "Parish Lesane Crooks" or "Lesane Parish Crooks". Afeni feared her enemies would attack her son, and disguised their relation using a different last name, only to change it three months or a year later, following her marriage to Mutulu Shakur.
Several There are many conspiracies have circulated going around on the Internet about Tupac's The death and who was responsible for the murder. The first comes from Chuck Phillips, a former L.A. Times journalist,. Philips believes that Orlando Anderson, a the Crips, and Biggie Smalls are responsible for the murder”(Bergera). Through his research, Philips came up with three conclusions about Tupac’s death. First, members of the Southside Crips orchestrated the shooting as revenge for his fight with Orlando Anderson.Second, Philips believes Orlando Anderson was the shooter. finally, Philips found it plausible that Biggie Smalls Paid the Crips $1 million to kill Tupac and supplied the gun.But why would Biggie want Tupac dead? Well, Biggie’s
“Whether a killer acted with the deliberation and premeditation required for first degree murder can only be determined on a case by case basis. The need for deliberation and premeditation does not mean that the perpetrator must contemplate at length or plan far ahead of the murder.”
Many states today categorize murder into two degrees: first and second, but others have even more degrees based upon motive, intent, or time. Although England had established a set of criteria for the definition of degrees of murder, the Pennsylvania Court in the Act of Assembly of 1794 stated, “All murder which shall be perpetrated by means of poison, or by lying in wait, or by any other kind of wilful, deliberate or premeditated killing or which shall be committed in the perpetration or attempt to perpetrate any arson, rape, robbery or burglary, shall be deemed murder in the first degree; and all other kinds of murder, shall be murder in the second degree.” (Loewy, 2009, p. 20). By defining first degree murder as arson, rape, robbery, or burglary only these offenses would be punishable under the penalty of death. Second degree would not be punishable by death and only carry with it a prison sentence.
It is so hard to become a rapper. But it is harder to become a Great Rapper. I believe Tupac is a great rapper. Not only a great rapper, but the greatest rapper. Like Snoop Dogg had said, “Tupac was many different things at once. Hardheaded and intellectual, courageous and afraid, revolutionary and….oh yeah, don’t get it f***ed up, gangsta.” To be a great rapper, you must have impact, commercial success, be good at song writing, a lot of performances and live shows and lastly, hella good rapping. The first song I heard from tupac was “ambitions az a ridah and all eyes on me” and it was real original so I went and listened to ‘Brenda got a baby’ which made me think “dammmmm he good, he good as hell”
